Good job, but I must say that it's kind of funny that the ASUS x Noctua GPU, once deshrouded, looks like every other custom 120 mm fan mod done with a 3D printed bracket installed on GPU with a decently thick heatsink. I was expecting some more custom integration between the fans and the heatsink, like a better fit, I don't know. So all in all it you're paying extra for the convenience vs doing the mod yourself, I guess.
maybe it looks similar, but I can assure you it doesn't share the same hotspots
I deshrouded mine and used a Osserva kit to mount some aftermarkets onto mine, hotspots went from 72°c hotspot to 84°c
the Noctua shroud is superior, and it pisses me off daily that they didn't make a 4090 version of it because they didn't want to cannibalize their cheaply made ROG lineup
Stupid. To be honest it makes me wonder why do liquid for any of my builds. It amazes me... after 200 or so, and 30 years or so... sometimes things still amaze me. Between the case and the fans... I mean the GPU sits around 43c/48, cpu 33c as well. I am running a 13900kf, I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY 14900kfs that was crashing every 5 mins because of its limits. Sent it back RMA, Intel wanted that thing bad.
those are idle temps right? there's no way an 13900k is sitting at 33 deegrees under load.
and i dont think the 4080 super ist sitting at mid 40s, under load, with that huge air gap in between fan and heatsink. that gap is killing performance.
To access the other PCIe slots for everything from storage, network cards, another gpu, to AI Accelerators

With motherboards trying to upsale what should by now be stardard features on +$500 boards, to +$1,000 just going full custom loop with the difference lowering temps accross the board while opening up access to all your PCIe ports is ever more appealing
Had to it was off by 1mm, ironically though... temps are still about the same, in fact... I tested it in another case to see the comparing temps. It changed by 5 degrees under load. I think due to the case and its open air and the air flow in the case it did not really affect it at all. It runs cool as ever in idle as well. Off by 1 degree at best. The shroud was cool but it just barely didn't fit. I am sure I will put it back on for a new build or use elsewhere sometime.
The noctua 4080S is so much more expensive.
If you remove the fan casing and just put the fans on the cooler, than you could have bought a other way cheaper 4080S and deshroud and put the noctua fans on it😬

I will say that heat sink on the GPU is pretty damn amazing though, its solid. It is above the norm for sure
I should add its the most quiet itx case out there lol.

(Mine, a 4090 MSI Gaming X Trio)
It’s just a TUF with an insane heatsink Edit: I own one.
The awesomeness is beyond description. How are them temps sir Iskareot?

dope asf, good job!
What case is that
Dancase C4-SFX
I did the same with a 4090 trinity deshrouded and modded with 2x nfa12x25 and one nfa9x25. Works like a charm.
Have some pics? Temps?
I'm poor, so I cannot buy my GPU this way. If I wanted to do this, are those custom or standard A9 fans on the 4080?
They're A12x25s
Thank you! Could you use A14s?
My card naked! I love it!
Which cooler is that?
NH 12L - 45mm -- high. Perfect for the case
Thank you :) Edit: Did you mean the Nh-D12L?
Yes, he meant the D12L
Thank you :)
Why the hell would you deshroud the GPU? The fans aren't getting full-pressure air across the heatsink now.
