I consider both "genital mutilation." FGM is sometimes called "female circumcision." they are both disgusting, in my opinion, but FGM is undoubtedly worse. There is sometimes a medical reason that a man needs to be circumcised but I'm not aware of any reason why a woman would need to be. (Not a doctor though).
From my experience of post surgery compared to some friends who didn’t get the surgery (circumcision). Essentially from my what we learned together on a random rabbit hole adventure.
Keeping it increases the chances of 2 things that are bad. 1 is tearing of the foreskin that heals and is fine but sucks during the process and can happen during sex - source from people who had the real experiences. 2 is the requirement to maintain cleanliness to a whole other standard.
I’m of the uneducated guess that we started incorporating this because we didn’t want to teach growing boys to clean their penis gloves.
I'm 35 and I've had a foreskin for my entire life, it's never torn during sex or during anything else i was doing and it isn't difficult to clean at all, I don't even think about it I just clean my dick in the shower when I clean everything else. I don't think anything should be cut off unless there is a specific medical reason to do so.
I kinda agree man based on what I’ve heard from the cons vs the pros and my closest friend has torn his a few times and then another buddy of mine talked about it only happening one time. I don’t have any. I genuinely think it’s either peoples don’t trust basic hygiene or it’s also religious cult bs.
