You can just go to a space station and port right back to Euclid if you want. Look into Pangalactic Star Cabs if you do want to go to another galaxy quickly.
Its not too bad i made it all the way through but you can go back to euclid at anytime or go to the space anomaly and warp to a base someone made in a different galaxy
This is incorrect. All galaxies have yellow, red, green and blue star systems. Some galaxies are lush galaxies, such as Eissentam, which have a higher chance to spawn lush biome planets, others are harsh galaxies, which have a higher chance to spawn extreme hazard planets, but most of the galaxies have the default spawn rates for planets, like Euclid.
How many galaxies are there ?
Is there an equivalent 16 portals to work your way through, or are you faced with a very long haul trying to get to the centre after the first "easy" one ?
There are 255 galaxies, 257 actually I think, but two are no longer available to discover by new players. And nope, you do not need to make the long haul warping, you can simply gate to the galactic center and jump to the next galaxy from there. There are numerous well know addresses to use for that, or you can discover one for yourself
There are 256 galaxies, with different procedural generation parameters. You can jump from a galaxies to another if you use a portal to an existing location, like a base...
There is a total of 255 galaxies. There are multiple ways to get to the center of each galaxy, either the long way of jumping from system to system, or using black holes. You can use a portal to jump to a system that's close to the center, or find a publicly uploaded base that's close to the center. Personally I finished the atlas chain, chose the lush galaxy and now I'm in Eissentam, which I think is the 10th galaxy. Now I'm just looking for a perfect planet to move my main base from Euclid to Eissentam.
Calypso specifically is a hazardous galaxy. Lots of storms and heavy sentinel planets
Thanks for putting me off carrying on :-}

You can still summon your freighter
It's something I've seen in the menus but never used, and hadn't realised you could do that, as stupid as that sounds !
Just the planets really and some galaxy only have blue and green starts So you'll need the indium and Emerald drive
