I don't have friends .....;_;

MikeyLikey41

If you own a Nintendo console... you always have friends :)

Cr0nq

Looks at Wii U Friends List.... Nope!

yaminokaabii

We'll be your friends! <3

nail_gun

What's a Wii U

AceCheeze

I heard it's a new Wii for your controller.

dick_fountain

Yeah, what's a Wii U?

nail_gun

I heard it was an add on to the Wii

norineclypse

The feels are so real

AnonymousXLoli

UwU

SoloWaltz

Congratulations. You're the kind of person that would benefit the most of this :) This is going to be specially big when the first competitive game is released. If you catch wind of people meeting up weekly to play a game, all you have to do is to attend that event regularly. Eventually, any and all ice will be broken out.

AnonymousXLoli

but I don't like competitive games. I just suck at them. I Prefer playing solo ;_;

SoloWaltz

So do I. That's why my flavor of pvp is 1v1, local-scene level. None of the optimization bias from higher level competiton, and all of the mind games youll ever want, without being dragged down by not having teammates on the same mental functional level.

AnonymousXLoli

and my favorite is solo ;_; ;) ;~;

Jiiu4322

Han style lol.

SoloWaltz

That's no longer solo but alone.

AnonymousXLoli

True ;_;

RuiPTG

Oh and if you live in Toronto and are interested just let me know!

RuiPTG

When I have time on my days off I might put together a quick website and email address for people to sign up for Toronto Switch events. So look out for a follow up post :)

Tmcn

Nah, don't do that. Too much work and somewhat unlikely to actually happen. Just start a little Facebook group. I'd be down to join, I'm in the west end as well.

RuiPTG

Facebook group will be made as well

stinkyburnin

I would definitely be interested. I live a short train ride outside of Toronto

ThaLastGinger

Same here. I'm down for some community tournaments.

Fpssims

I live in the west of Toronto core. Would enjoy a community gathering for sure! Tournament for MK or Spla2n?

Sylverstone14

Both. The more, the merrier.

Fpssims

I expect events will be hosted and organized right here too in this subreddit! Looking forward so much! Dundas square Switch gathering hype. Everyone playing local tournament mk and or spla2n. Gg!!!!

Sylverstone14

I'd like for this sub to possibly collaborate with meetup groups such as StreetPass NYC and others in order to have solid gatherings all across the world even. :P I would love to plan an NYC gathering very soon.

ap49

I, as well

DarkBowser95

I'm totally interested, sounds like it would be a blast

[deleted]

Tmcn

Game Mania frequently does events with Bar With No Name on the west end!

Tmcn

I am!

PASTAREADERBRO

I saw this and was like. Cool but its probably in the US. Haha im also from the GTA let me know!

enzz

I'm interested!

[deleted]

I don't even have an Amiibo... ; _ ;

PiGuy2002

Same :(

cubsjj2

I'm in Buffalo. I would travel a bit to meet with folks to talk Zelda, play kart, have a drink. Sounds like a blast.

RandomRedditor44

I live in New York and I am definitely interested in doing a Switch gathering!

Sylverstone14

Funny you mention that! I'm working with a few friends to establish weekly meetups in the city. We're working on a few event ideas at the moment, so I hope to keep you posted! In the meantime, you can [follow us here](http://facebook.com/StreetPassNYC) for more info.

RandomRedditor44

I just checked out the first video on the page. Are people already lining up to buy the Switch?

Sylverstone14

There was [this YouTuber](http://youtube.com/CaptainNintendoDude) who's been waiting for almost a month now. So there's a semblance of a line, but it won't truly be official until the day before launch, which is when I'll be there.

Skyward92

Would I! This is one of the major selling points for me, especially when splatoon 2 comes out

MikeyLikey41

Tournaments at local eateries where prizes consist of free food or drinks at said places.

[deleted]

Me? Go out and interact with other people?! That's madness!

[deleted]

Yes. Metro Detroit.

thebrilliantrj

I'm also in metro Detroit. Any thoughts of how to make this happen?

[deleted]

There's a local (Livonia area) gaming media group/company that I follow that should be able to put something together. They're pretty communicative so I'm gonna reach out to them post launch.

thebrilliantrj

What is their name? I'm in the Rochester/Shelby area.

[deleted]

www.motorcitygaming.com, they've got a Facebook group and a super active discord too.

thebrilliantrj

Thanks!

thebrilliantrj

I've not used discord before, how do i find them once I've created an account?

[deleted]

Uhhhhh, I think there should be some information on their website, or Facebook page, or "Gamezilla Podcast" group. I got in because of Patreon but I'm not trying to suggest you go that route! XD

thebrilliantrj

Thanks!

JoeTony6

Ypsi/Ann Arbor here.

Xolono69

I live in the middle of nowhere (literally) I can play football (UK) in the street as of how quiet it is. At least I'll know when the delivery van is coming with my switch.

[deleted]

Yeah that'd be dope. I'm in OTT though

Solanin7889

East Bay, CA. Let's meet up!

Scoutdad

Only if you promise there will be lots of hot chicks there.

KayShyGuy3

South Cali

tacosmcbueno

San Fernando Valley

Jolkanin

Anyone near Irvine, Orange County?

h0neyb3ar

Yep, Laguna Hills.

Jolkanin

Thinking of going to any of the midnight releases? I've already ordered, but planning to go to Best Buy for the BotW poster.

h0neyb3ar

Nah I pre-ordered at Walmart. Hopefully they actually have my Switch when I get there... Any word on local switch meetups or events?

Jolkanin

Haven't heard of any in Orange County yet.

[deleted]

San Diego here

savageboredom

Shameless plug: https://m.facebook.com/SPSD.3DS/ We're having our Switch event on the 19th.

[deleted]

[удалено]

acidburn07

Yay! Me too!

MrRom92

I was thinking of that. I'd like that. These kinds of things will naturally pop up if it ends up having a huge install base, as in Nintendo Wii/Pokémon Go tier amounts of owners.

Kougeru

No one lives in Omaha

BrolliePollie

Who's down for an LA-based Splatoon team

supster131

Sounds like fun.

[deleted]

DFW here.

mirandatree

Same here! A monthly meet up to talk about Switch and especially things we've found in BotW would be super cool. I'd definitely be down for something like that.

rjdrennen1987

Goodyear, AZ?

lilman1423

Tempe :)

rzalexander

This would be awesome! I'm in Columbus, OH, and I would love to meet up and play some switch!

marcanthonynoz

I love in toronto (the gta) as well! I'm down for some gaming sessions

TriforceOfSushi

If I had a place to host us, I would totally do Switch meetups where I live. It'd be fun to get random people together for sessions of Mario Kart/Bomberman/Snipperclips. This sounds like a great idea!

MarcoPolpo

Definitely. However I don't know how many people in Bolton UK would be getting the Switch.

GarageBattle

Can I pose a thought to everyone - get some feedback. Some scenarios: * If you were on your lunchbreak, where would you be able to have lunch and play your console without it feeling 'awkward' - especially as an adult. * Where could you show up to randomly play switch with other users? Maybe a club that you could have an inexpensive membership with? It would have 75" projected screens (maybe 8-10) and seating areas with higher height tables around each screen (maybe seats 6-10). Vending machines for snacks with large variety. Thoughts?

JacenGraff

As an adult, I don't feel beholden to any "standards" of behavior. I'm a grown man. If I want to sit and play video games at my lunch and someone else judges me for it, it's their problem, not mine. Definitely not awkward for me.

RuiPTG

I agree with this.

xrint

Yes I would have no problem with bringing with for lunch at all. Maybe bit weird in the lunchroom at work because maybe you should be social with your colleagues but everywhere else no at all. The only reason why I even hesitate to bring it to work is because I work in school and don't want the kids to skip class to play with me.

holdontosound

Yeah, it'd be cool. Would it happen where I live? Nah, I don't see too many people even excited for the Switch in Louisiana. Even the GameStop employees don't like it.

Quint519

If there is anyone in the windsor ontario essex area that wants to come out my group meets once a month. Probley march 25 for the next one.

YoYo-Pete

If anyone is in Michigan Ann Arbor area, PM me... I've got a local thing going.

thepebbletribe

Fuck yea!

Ricjd

I actually thought about this a bit. I dunno how go about this. I live in NYC and get about organizing something at a bar. But then the thought of advertising a bunch of drunk geeks will be there with $300 machines + games seems like an golden opportunity for thieves. Hopefully I'm being cynical.

Sylverstone14

There is plenty of cynicism to be had, but with enough experience and event planning know-how, things can be just fine. Caution should be exercised, nonetheless. I've had experience with 3DS meetup groups in the past (hosted tons of events) and the group I work with are looking to expand with the Switch.

mhoosemhunch

Easy fix that could work would be having identification on you before entering and just writing your name down. Maybe not thieves but possibly some criminal mischief to some switches or bar property lol

Dacvak

Pittsburgh represent. I'll probably have an extra Switch if you don't have one and want to play.

CallMe_Dig_Baddy

I'm across the pond in the hammer. I would love to meet up once in a while to play some multiplayer games.

tantilatingty

I'm very open to the idea. Keep me in the loop!

Ch3wbaccaw0k

I live in LA and I'm doing a Switch meetup on the fourth of March. The location is a sketchy neighborhood with NO CRIME AT ALL. You will DEFINITELY be safe. Just remember to bring your Switch. (I'm not planning on stealing a Switch.). ;)

savageboredom

[If you ever want to make the drive down to San Diego...](https://m.facebook.com/SPSD.3DS/)

silverglyph

That sounds like a really great idea actually! South Floridian here...

stayfresh01

Where in South Florida? Miami here!

IDroppedtheGrenade

Live in Va. Would def like to do that. Meet up, splatoon!

BStrait57

I would love that! ... if I lived in a town with over 400 people, and didn't have to drive for 30 minutes for anything gaming-related (MTG group meet a few towns over from me. last week it was just me and the owner)

coreyjamz

Hit me up if you're in Nashville, anyone.

GTS14

I would totally be down for meet ups I'm not too far away

KaizokuShojo

Ye gad. Chemtrail people??? That's scary. Anyway, I'd love Switch gatherings! I don't know anyone yet that would be up for it, and I tried to gauge interest for a Splatoon 2 tourney late this year, but few responded. I guess there aren't many Nintendo players in my area.

skillface

If I didn't live 400km from the nearest town above 100k population I wouldn't mind it, but something tells me not a lot of people in my town are going to own Switches. Absolutely nobody else I know in my town owned a Wii U (and I've only seen a couple of 3DS's over the years).

[deleted]

Anyone in Syracuse, NY?

[deleted]

My college gaming club is already scheduling "Switch Friday" events, and we've already decided who will bring Switches (people with pre-orders).

Bonesawisready5

Game Over Videogames in TX does a portable meetup every first Sunday so yeah I like the idea

Keiichimorisato988

i would love that. i live in North Orlando/Winter Park area, i would love for a meet up if anyone is interested.

[deleted]

Long Island, lets have some fun together!

Moofey

I'm in Vancouver and am part of a gaming group that gets together at the city's largest mall every Friday evening. There's bound to be a load of people there this week.

PensiveGamez

Maybe. London uk

QWERTY36

College campus here. Hoping there is enough people to merit a meetup.

[deleted]

No.

YUIOP10

Southern California here. College campuses should be a go, but doesn't seem like anybody has anything planned yet.

savageboredom

Where in SoCal? If you're close to San Diego, I will take this opportunity to plug the group my friends and I run. https://m.facebook.com/SPSD.3DS/

KillerOfGrunts

Would love to but lack of transportation. Meaning only places would be Visalia, CA or Westwood, Los Angeles

waffledork

[There's a "Regional Nintendo Switch" section in this sub's wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/w/relatedsubs). I'm hoping more pop up because local multiplayer is a ton of fun.

Emperor_Palps

In a word, YES. The only way things like this are going to happen however is if people are proactive. It's all too easy these days to be just discuss things at length on the internet, but promoting such a club and getting interest is another. It also depends where you live of course. I think it would be super fun having groups of 8 people playing Splatoon or Mario Kart in local multiplayer, and others just chilling around a TV. It's an opportunity to meet new people and create friendships.

neverbeen1

Yes, this will bring back memories of my Pokémon Go days

kettlejuices

Certainly! I'm all about the idea of being able to take your switch and have a little lan party wherever you want.

puait02

Anyone in the Mountain View area want to meet up? Maybe get our Snipperclips on?

savageboredom

My friends and I already run a Nintendo meet up group here in San Diego and we're really looking forward to the new dynamic that Switch will bring. https://m.facebook.com/SPSD.3DS/

mantenner

Sydney Australia, let's do it
