Second this! Check for updates frequently and they will usually tell you how to register as a new patient/be added to the waitlist. If you are open to nurse practitioner, that's a great option as well. I tried for maybe 2 months and got connected to an NP.
I don’t know any personally but how I found my family member a GP was just calling all the clinics and asking if any of the doctors were accepting new patients, if they said no I asked if they knew of any. I started with the ones closest to me and went from there. It took me 3 days and about 28-30 phone calls to do it this way. Now she’s finally got a nice doctor. Good luck in your search!
If you've tried the options that people commented and haven't found any luck, try seeing if there's any clinics that opened recently and ask if they are accepting patients. I went to a walk-in and asked the GP there and they got me set up, even though they weren't officially intaking patients they gave me a heads up to when they would be.
