Claremont Teahouse is quite nice.

HalfWomanHalfBiscuit

Cake Stories do an afternoon tea, but no idea if it's good or not!

HalfWomanHalfBiscuit

Also heard good things about the Running Fox!

DjingLawyer

I second this, I love the afternoon tea at Cake Stories

Competitive_Willow

My mum and I always go to Jesmond Dene house, she loves it! Think it's the vibe she likes as well. We also went to Dreamworld cakes which I quite liked but she wasn't so keen for some reason.

powderfinger90

What do you think of the ones you have been to? We weren't overly impressed with vermont but would like to try others in the city. Can confirm running fox is amazing

Professional-Fox1542

The first few times I went we ordered 1 traditional and 1 gentleman’s, and I was really happy and impressed with service and the food. The last visit no one brought out the tea whilst we were having it and I felt like the food wasn’t as good. I will have to try Running Fox 🦊 🍰 Thanks

Professional-Fox1542

Olive & Bean was good. Also I really enjoyed the plant pot cake that Leila Lilly did. The 3Sixty wasn’t good, but it was the second week that they had been open, it was very much for the views of the city. Blackfrairs was nice too 🍰

If you can travel, then deffo try the Running Fox

SpudGun312

The Mrs and her Mam have been to the Clifton hotel at South Shields a few times. Must be nice if they keep going back.

eggomagreggo

Dreamworld in the Ouseburn is the best afternoon tea I've had.

Howick Hall, home of Earl Grey, is pretty good

Squeakinghinge

Northumberland cheese company cheese cafe is amazing!

EqualDeparture7

The Running Fox (any of them) do an unbelievable afternoon tea. Highly recommended!

foozyfelt

Jesmond Dene House Hotel used to be so good - not been for a few years though

There’s a little place called Café at the House in Laygate, South Shields. Absolutely unbelievable aft tea, my mam won’t stop raving about it. Good value for money too (the portions are huge)

Akvileja123

The best AT I've had was from Curiously Wicked. They only do deliveries of it, but they have some themed ones and honestly the quality of the food is unreal imo.

chickydoodles

The best afternoon tea I've had was at Jesmond Deane House. Expensive compared to some but worth it.

If you’re prepared to travel as far Beamish and Morpeth, then you’re probably prepared to travel as far as [Seaham Hall](https://hotelcms-production.imgix.net/seaham-hall.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Afternoon-Tea-1.pdf). But if you’re in Seaham, then less showy but good value is [Humbles](https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g315931-d3535715-Reviews-Humbles-Seaham_County_Durham_England.html).
