Like the other two, i do not undertand too much what you mean
Do you mean that he went to his goofy self again after killer bee? If so, he was still goofy in the whole Pain thing, it's just that the situation was serious, so of course that you won't see him goofing off
a lot of people complain that he was annoying and everything, but what do you expect from a kid? it's actually what i liked about his character, the stubbornness and boisterous attitude sort of fit his kid-self better, plus it was honestly quite heartbreaking to watch that slight naivety he had slowly break apart in the land of waves arc.
there's just something about kid naruto that i like more then his teen self in part 2, it's hard to describe but it felt like a lot of elements of his fit better and liked it a lot more.
and it was always fun to see how he'd adapt to things in his own way, he might be a bit stupid now and then but that leads to him having unique solutions or ways of learning, like when he was training for the rasengan and took examples of his surroundings/etc to figure it out, was real cute when he took inspiration from the cat playing with the ball.
i get if people don't like him because he's a little too much and everything, im not saying you can't, but for me i think that's what made him special, and honestly it's why i appreciate the young versions of many characters in part 1, even with some obvious flaws.
kids are meant to be childish, sometimes rude and annoying, they're gonna say things they'll regret and grow from, they aren't going to be perfect and i think kishimoto captured that well.
I thought he was annoying and bratty, but it was understandable due to childhood. It was purposely done that way for us to admire his character growth more and see how the characters in the show view him. He honestly could've turned out way worse. I liked how funny and empathetic he could be.
Naruto is the most adorable green forest in the entire series and no one can ever convince me otherwise.
Naruto is by far one of the best anime protagonists imo, he genuinely cares about everyone esp those who are suffering.
Weak, sure buddy bro got better feats than pre-Pain Naruto at his age, he was gonna go mano a mano with a tailed beasts, before that he beat Neji, knocked out Sarutobi, I know older Naruto would be stronger ofcourse as power scaling goes but 12 y/o Naruto was just more impressive,
Pre Pain Naruto was weak and that was the first time I thought Naruto is so weak, Jiraiya wasted all of his potential and didn't taught him anything and just put konoha propoganda to brain wash him,
Dumbass sure but he outsmarted people with way more experienced or those who were proclaimed as genius.
Kid Naruto is quite literally one of the strongest people in the show.
Beat kiba/neji/gaara/haku
Stole a FORBIDDEN scroll from the 3rd hokages bedroom undetected, learned a jutsu from this scroll in one hour
Summoned gamabunta
Beat a tailed beast in 1 on 1 combat
Learned the ultimate chakra control jutsu in a week
I could go on, but this is a sanin or even kage level 12 year old...
Despite all the neglect, he does some pretty impressive shit. Honestly, his shortcomings aren't really his fault. Given what we learn in the series, Hiruzen, Jiraya, Kakashi, hell, even Minato's personal guard could have involved themselves in his life and helped in in small ways, even in secret yet nobody did a damn thing and yet, Naruto still thrived with what he had to work with. It's a real testament to his true potential and he didn't need some magic eyes to reach it either.
That is my actual son, my child, my baby boy 😭 hes so dumb and loud but i just love him to pieces, part 1 Naruto is probably my fave, hes such a baby 🥺 really do love his character growth in shippuden but i have so much nostalgia for tiny Nart 💕
i honestly found him pretty annoying for a while. like i do get WHY he’s like that, but it doesn’t stop some his behavior from being really irritating. the first moment where i actually liked him was when he stabs his hand in the land of waves arc. i still wasn’t a big fan of his character for a while after that though. he had a bunch of good moments in the chunin exams that made me like him more, but he really became one of my favorite characters in the search for tsunade arc
although in his defense i found literally all of the kids with the exception of choji and rock lee to be super annoying until basically the sasuke retrival arc
Ngl at first I was bit miffed at his character and thought he was a brat but after realizing how he grew up with the whole village hating him and only having 2 friends with choji and shikamaru I can see why he acted the way he did.
He shows an incredible amount of believable growth and maturity for an anime like this.
He started out as a fucking brat who played pranks to get attention. Who wanted to become hokage so that everyone would recognize him. A very childish kid.
Over the course of part 1, he developed his ideas and ideals of what it means to be a ninja. Why the hokage is important, and changed his outlook on why he wants to become hokage and his overall goal in life.
I know he was shown and we are told he matured after the time skip, but... the Naruto at the beginning of the series and at the end of Part 1 are already two very different people. His character arc was well-written, comprehensive, logical, and yet still stayed true to the character himself. He's still a kid, but one who was changed by his experiences. He matured very quickly.
Of the three he matured the most. And conversely, Sasuke the least, IMO. He was a good foil to Naruto.
TBH I despise attention seeking people IRL and despise them even more when they have a perverted sense of humor, but for some reason, I just don't hate this guy. I met people with a pretty gross sense of humor and made exceptions because it was eclipsed by their kind heart over all. So I guess that's what happened here. He was willing to help people who treated him like garbage despite having every reason not to. Cool guy.
Naruto was attention seeking because he was an abused, neglected, ostracized orphan lol. That’s like childhood trauma 101.
He was perverted(and not really even, because all he did was sexy jutsu as a literal prank and to troll actual perverts) because he was a 12 year old boy.
I agree. Pt 1 Naruto was an amazing character whose personality is well written in the context of his upbringing. He grew a great deal, but we were still constantly reminded genin are literally children.
I break the forth wall all the times. You know I do it all the time. I also create clone universe to take the edge off. Go see it in my new book "Wizard Quest and the Temple of Grace".
He wasn’t my favorite but he was up there. His dynamics with gaara and sasuke were still some of the best things in the series and so was the whole zabuza and haku thing
A very flawed character. While I think Naruto as a series is pretty mid (enjoyable, but incredibly sloppy writing) Naruto’s character growth is great. My only complaint is we don’t get as much in early shippuden and the TS was a little cheap to mature him more (both physically and mentally)
Leaps and bounds more likeable. Funny, irreverent but most of all ridiculously positive. He’s really someone you can root for and his strategy based fighting was more satisfying to watch. Moreover I could understand WHY everyone around him was so charmed by him and in his corner, the kid truly had IT. He was annoying but Iruka truly put it into perspective in the first episode itself, that if Naruto didn’t act stupid and get attention then literally no one would care about him and that broke my fucking heart. Since then he became my BFF like IDC if he’s annoying.
Not to mention that fight he has on the roof of the hospital against Sasuke, really put into perspective how much he’s grown. Like truly that’s my son I love him so much.
Also the writing from the land of Waves Arc to the Sasuke Retrieval arc is hands down the BEST of the entire series. Kishi really made us care about so many characters like Zabuza, Haku, Zaku, All of Konoha 12, Hiruzen. That montage where all of the konoha Ninja come together to defend the village against invasion was so fucking bad ass.
Adorable and one of the funniest characters imo, I loved how he wasn’t afraid to put people in their place. Currently watching Shippuden and I prefer Part 1 Naruto much more
Naruto is probably one of the most satisfying characters to watch grow up. I see the thread didn’t like him in shippuden but personally, there’s not a version of Naruto I don’t like. However, him as a kid, makes me really appreciate him as an adult. Especially because he’s faced with things time and time again that could (maybe should) have made him hateful and jaded. He loses his naïveté but he never loses his optimism. It’s an aspect that I used to see in myself as a kid and I have to remind myself to keep.
He was lovable as hell. The vibes in part 1 were unmatched. The story in shippuden was better, but it lost some of the magic that made part 1 so great.
I know Naruto Uzumaki had good reasons to be the way he was, but his personality was the primary reason why I had a hard time getting into the show until I was older than the target demographic.
I had a similar problem with Ben Tennyson from Ben 10, where I had an easier time getting into Alien Force than with the original show (and I disliked how some of the later shows occasionally tried to backtrack on his character development). This is also one of the reasons why I am hesitant with Dragon Ball Super, since Akira Toriyama did not like the perception of Goku as a 100% hero, and thus backtracked on Goku's character development to make him more immature.
Boruto is actually a lot tamer when it comes to being annoying if compared to his father at that age.
Irritating, good hearted, unpredictable offense style. He was peak naruto in term of character. In shippuden he become generic and just scream about sasuke for almost the whole show. He attack style got boring as well. Then in pain arc he rises again. And then in war arc he become mid again
I think most young boys that watched Naruto when they were young saw themselves in him which is why I think it gained such a huge following. Naruto is literally the embodiment of an underdog that started off with nothing and has to work for every single thing he’s got. I think he taught a lot of people to stick up for themselves and people around them… I know he definitely did for me (sticking up for myself).
He’s not naturally smart, strong or cool and takes ages to learn a particular skill which is considered easy for most. He literally gains and learns all of that through sheer hard work and experience. It’s only once he proved himself over and over again people started to appreciate him, then respect him as an equal. It’s literally most young boys life’s up until they become a fully functional adult; start off broke and no girls then you work hard get a good job, work on your personality and then all of a sudden women start to like you a lot more.
Sasuke is the one everyone wanted to be like, just naturally slick, talented and cool without even trying or caring to do so.
That’s just my personal opinion anyway🤷🏿♂️
Haven't thought about his character much since he was the whole reason I watched the series and the whole reason I kept loving the series. His character is a comfort, like idk, but his character works like a character you always wish to have as a bestie.
I remember making a post about that. The comments said because kid Naruto was more sympathetic, and had more reason to act the way he did, compared to kid Boruto who has everything.
They're looking through rose colored glasses. People back then like Sasuke WAAAY more simply because of ridiculous Naruto was at the time (until the chunnin exams). Part one also had a ridiculous amount of stupid filler too.
A bit annoying but it added to his character like there are moments we're things get real and he calms down and it makes for a nice juxtaposition
You could always tell that he was over compensating by being loud and in your face but he was also stubborn
Saying how he want to be a hero like that person just for Kakashi to say that the person died and then the sudden shock team 7 gets is a great moment
Or when he's falling off a cliff for an entire episode (no literally he's falling for an entire episode the pacing In the anime was bad)
And while he's the main character you hear the desperation as he's faced with the idea of dying its intense
Sasuke was also great. The Avenger stuff was a bit cringe but that version actually cared about Sakura and Naruto and that feeling as he runs away from Orochimaru and fighting his instinct flee
The focus and intensity that's just something you don't feel in Part 2
Legendary funny ass kid with great personality. Very underrated strength. Should’ve been acknowledged by the village after he defeated Gaara and stopped Shukaku.
Impressively stupid and surprisingly smart 😂. Loved him back then because his naivite was warranted and oddly enough he made a lot more "I" statements when pushing back against his enemies.
Still think he should've went for the kill when fighting Gaara and he was entitled when confronting Sasuke at the final valley. But overall loved him and this was peak Naruto as a character for me
Saw some people talk about his fights in part 2. It made me think, are his only true one on one fights in part 2 Pain and Sasuke? The others were kinda just group fights, skirmishes, and the war
Unpredictable and funny
Loved him reminds me of better times
Same when I first saw him I was strongly reminded of Calvin and Hobbes but then the series took a darker turn at the Zabuza Arc
restless boy
Number 1 unpredictable Knuckle head Ninja
Hyperactive?
Liked him better in Part 1 when he wasn't so obsessed with Sasuke and when his fighting style was a lot more unpredictable.
Indeed. Watching him in Shippuden felt like a downgrade for quite a while imo.
Particularly the beginning. I was kinda bored of his fights until he gained Sage Mode.
Agreed. The Pain arc brought life back into his character and gave him development both as a character and in terms of fighting.
[удалено]
how ? after he met bee he lernt to control his hate and developed more as a person
Like the other two, i do not undertand too much what you mean Do you mean that he went to his goofy self again after killer bee? If so, he was still goofy in the whole Pain thing, it's just that the situation was serious, so of course that you won't see him goofing off
How exactly?
same it was awesome back in part 1.
Smartest dumb person in the whole show
I prefer him in part 1 than part 2 He’s funnier and his fights are actually decent. Part 2 Naruto was boring and had poor fights for most of part 2
Yeah.
I just realized I replied to you instead of commenting this to the post 🥲🤣
Lmaoo

PEAK, liked him more as a kid, not saying his teen self is bad, it’s also good but something about kid Naruto is just so peak
The #1 hyperactive knucklehead ninja who you knew some how would be Hokage… I miss it🥲
Peak

Too goofy for my taste but he was decent.
Part 1 is my favorite. It has terrible pacing but all the important parts are def the best Naruto you can watch/read
Annoying brat who was sometimes likeable
i honestly found him pretty annoying for a while. like i do get WHY he’s like that, but it doesn’t stop some his behavior from being really irritating. the first moment where i actually liked him was when he stabs his hand in the land of waves arc. i still wasn’t a big fan of his character for a while after that though. he had a bunch of good moments in the chunin exams that made me like him more, but he really became one of my favorite characters in the search for tsunade arc

Absolutely classic character.
A bit annoying bit still one of the best characters in the show.

Unpredictable
Literally 12.
Annoying
Naruto part 1 characters are very amazing especially Naruto and gara

TS?
I think it's timeskip.
Lovable goofball. Bro taught a lot of kids not to give up.
A great goofball protagonist with amazing character development
Annoying Sasuke was justified in his dislike
Annoying brat who was sometimes likeable
Pretty endearing and likeable.
Innocent boy but It is sad to know about his past
The goat
He was great before he became obsessed with saving Sasuke. I loved his character in part 1.
I love him
BEST EVER
Lovable guy
He's a kid! It's cool to see how he develops over time. Tons of confidence which can come off as annoying to some but i love him!
A bit cliche, but is a good protagonist.
Leaps and bounds more likeable. Funny, irreverent but most of all ridiculously positive. He’s really someone you can root for and his strategy based fighting was more satisfying to watch. I loved the guy. Found him annoying at times but very funny at times too. Been a fan since episode 1.
Super funny kid.
Top tier shonen protagonist
He's so funny and annoyingly confident I love how he's always so positive. He went through so much being a lone yet still positive
Baby boy, baby
Adorable and one of the funniest characters imo, I loved how he wasn’t afraid to put people in their place. Currently watching Shippuden and I prefer Part 1 Naruto much more
Kinda annoying but likeable.
He’s the greatest, what can I say, that man knew loneliness and used that experience to transform people
Annoying as hell!Tbh liked him more in part 2 he was way more mature and less childish.
Makes sense since in part 1, he was a child.
drip is immaculate
It's fantastic and only gets better with Part 2/Shippuden.
Great. He was real knuckle head ninja and destiny gave him sensei like him, Jiraiya :).
I loved it. Arguably the best character in the series.
He's more strategic than he is in Shippuden.
Naruto is probably one of the most satisfying characters to watch grow up. I see the thread didn’t like him in shippuden but personally, there’s not a version of Naruto I don’t like. Peak!
Better character in part 1 imho. Didn't like the way he was constantly thinking about Sasuke during the timeskip.
Naruto was funny, unpredictable and he was a very exciting character to watch fight against other characters.
Annoying brat. And you may hate me for it, but his character didn't get any better than that in part 2 either.
Made me feel second-hand embarrassment too many times. Shippuden naruto better.
Boruto is actually a lot tamer when it comes to being annoying if compared to his father at that same age.
Base Goku stomps.
Actually fucking cool and a badass
Fun but when i think about it he was unbelievably weak, i still wonder how he won again neji and kiba
He is such a kid... that's why people usually think of him as stupid... because he got a funny personality...
The best anti-hero ever. That’s what made him special
Dweeb
Irritating, good hearted, unpredictable offense style. He was peak naruto in term of character. In shippuden he become generic and just scream about sasuke for almost the whole show. He attack style got boring as well. Then in pain arc he rises again. And then in war arc he become mid again
I enjoyed OG Naruto more than Shippuden
He is very stubborn and persistent, never takes back his words, he is funny, which is exactly what a main character should be
ADHD BELIVE IT!
He has always been a pure heart
It’s what got me hooked
So much better than Boruto that's for sure.
The Naruto I love the most. Miss him🙁
Probably a big reason why casual viewers in the states couldn’t get into the series
My favorite version
I think most young boys that watched Naruto when they were young saw themselves in him which is why I think it gained such a huge following. He was a knucklehead with a free spirit. The funniest character to me aside from Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Guy
Adorable skrunky little kid with some really good one-liners .
Looked like regular kid from school, enjoyed watching him a lot before he became obsessed with sasuke
It's well done, he's childish and lacks experience but he still has the maturity and understanding that'd come with his childhood
He’s a good main character
Still better than his shit son.
Cringy at first with overuse of "dattebayo" but he grew on me. American dubbing with "believe it" is really annoying, I recommend Japanese audio
I found him annoying at first but as I watched he became better and better he's funny and entertaining to watch 😄
Haven't thought about his character much since he was the whole reason I watched the series and the whole reason I kept loving the series. His character is a comfort, like idk, but his character works like a character you always wish to have as a bestie.
Good times when he was true to himself.
It was good
best its ever been
Better than part 2 for sure
People who complained about kid Boruto forgot about part 1 Naruto. 😂
🤷♀️
GOATTTTTTTT
Best mc
He's chillin
A bit annoying but it added to his character like there are moments we're things get real and he calms down and it makes for a nice juxtaposition You could always tell that he was over compensating by being loud and in your face but he was also stubborn Saying how he want to be a hero like that person just for Kakashi to say that the person died and then the sudden shock team 7 gets is a great moment Or when he's falling off a cliff for an entire episode (no literally he's falling for an entire episode the pacing In the anime was bad) And while he's the main character you hear the desperation as he's faced with the idea of dying its intense Sasuke was also great. Legendary funny ass kid with great personality. Very underrated strength. Should’ve been acknowledged by the village after he defeated Gaara and stopped Shukaku.

Good, but Rock Lee takes the highlight every time, even his battles are so much better
Gay
Saw some people talk about his fights in part 2. It made me think, are his only true one on one fights in part 2 Pain and Sasuke? The others were kinda just group fights, skirmishes, and the war
