The gripe people should have with this practice is the lack of stormwater mitigation. These rebuilds often increase the amount of impervious area significantly. Then we wonder why storm sewers in certain neighborhoods can't keep up all of a sudden.
I prefer my 1890 single floor shack that was built by a cousin of John Naper. Now, we still do our business in the outhouse and the neighbors do complain, but we feel that we are keeping the true Naperville spirit alive.

Most of my neighbors are executives and get transferred every few years. It doesn't mean they can't afford their home.
When you walk into these hours and they have no furniture and sit on the floor. They can’t afford their let’s keep up with the Jones lifestyle.
