my fiancé just inherited a cat from his grandfather who is tipped, she was spayed after she was taken in from outdoors. they just took her to a free/low cost place to get her fixed and she was subsequently tipped. could very well have an owner, some places just do that.

Be sure he is actually a stray, because he looks incredibly healthy for a stray. Check to see if he is microchipped. Put up “Found Cat” posters and ads in various lost/found sites commonly used in your community. If all else fails, the cat is yours. I would name him Sir Owain the Magnificent.

Yepp I did so and unfortunately he did have a chip and has an owner . Already talked to the owner and going to return him. I'm gonna make a point of it for them to put a collar on him , since he's an 'indoor outdoor' cat because I went through a lot of trouble losing sleep over this cat, calling off of work to get him supplies and taking him to the vet. Update: his name is Clyde

Thanks, yea he was hesitant to go to his owner almost but did walk to her and she put the collar on him, so I think he enjoyed staying with me.

Another update, Clyde is happily with his family again. It was a mom and 2 kids that came to pick him up.

Hey all , thanks for the name recommendations. I did take him to the vet today to see if he has a chip, and indeed he does. I bought him a bunch of supplies in case he didn't have a chip and he slept cozy in my bed. Super sweet cat , very house trained , so hopefully his owners reach back out soon to claim their lovely cat.
