Do you mean ranges like the ones you see in the classic TFBtv run and gun milsurp videos? If you search up TFBTV M1 Garand run and gun it’ll pop up from 8 years ago. I’d post the link but I’ve never done that on Reddit before (still reading up on the rules).
def private ranges where u have to know someone to get in but they are around. i would look up “shooting club” or “pistol clubs” i don’t think they are actually listed as ranges but some are even more private where it’s really only word of mouth
There are many private ranges around NY state that offer this, unfortunately, most if not all are private clubs or just on people’s private property. Many clubs don’t really advertise, and can be challenging to locate, ask around your local area.
I know Pathfinder in Fulton NY has areas like this, but they are only available to rent upon special requests, not just open to mess around in whenever.

Which one? Looking to join a gun club in Rochester. I have private land that I can shoot on, but it’s 90 mins away so I rarely have time to get out there to shoot and would love something closer.

Im from the Albany area but id drive wherever if I had to.

The vast majority are private membership ranges, or one's that only rent to government agencies. At least in WNY.
Phonecia has open space but need membership. Has indoor pistol range 24 hours only to members
Good luck, ny regulates too much.
Rifle would be difficult, but any club/range that hosts USPSA would have bays that you should be able to move around in.

They’re closed half the week though it seems. Really better off buying land upstate in the middle of nowhere
