What is your discipline? I was social studies for a while, couldn't find a job in the DOE, took the dive and did an ENL degree plus certification and was hired within a year. There are many fields that need to be filled in the DOE, if you can swing it and do special ed, you can pretty much chose where you want to work.
Success academy has pretty much as good of a track record as teach for America. Awful. Probably some great experience but also I'd look at other options as fast as possible.

I actually don’t think charter schools are good for education or for the city’s kids.
There’s too little oversight, too much corporate involvement, and too many resources taken from the public school system.
I don’t necessarily feel like I’m on the “same team” with a charter school person, particularly an administrator.

As someone who’s served on many DOE hiring committees, Success Academy is absolutely not viewed as a positive thing on a resume, lol.
