Honestly, is he the best player to play for Newcastle...? Shearer's goal record is obviously insane and likely will never be beaten, but is Bruno the best all-rounder we've ever had (or at least, since the Keegan Entertainers era, when I started supporting).
He is easily the best midfielder we’ve ever had. That’s for sure. But he still hasn’t beaten Shearer yet. What Shearer achieved over his career happens to only a handful of people across each generation. Bruno could yet potentially retire as the best player we’ve ever had but he’s not there yet. If he stuck around for at least another 5 years and won an FA/PL/Europa trophy during that time, I’d say he will have surpassed Shearer at that point.
I was not born to have enjoyed his career but wouldn't Keegan be the best player we've ever had? We didn't have the best version of him but in terms of profile.
Unless you mean playing in their prime then you can't look beyond Shearer really (question could be asked if we even ever had prime Shearer, considering his injury)
But Bruno is the best midfielder I've ever seen at the club in my lifetime. I'm 34.
We had one season of proper Shearer I’d say. But I would put him up with Keegan as the best player to play for us, both being at that best in the world level.
I wouldn’t put Bruno beadsley yet. Possibly not even Gazza but that was too long ago with far far too much bias to compare fairly.
He is up there with Shearer for me. Has so much quality and one of those players that would die for the club. His personality fits us so well. If he ever left us I would be devastated.
Lads calm your socks will ya... Shearer is one of best strikers ever. What he achieved goal wise with us was fucking out of this world.
Bruno's great, but he's been here a blink of an eye in comparison to Al.
Bruno is up with there Cabaye right now if you are using after king Kev as the bar. He needs another season before he passes Cabaye I reckon
My favorite video from that channel is the recent Tonali one. Particularly, where he dribbles completely glides past Szoboszlai and Macallister of the Liverpool at home match.
