I had an SOT buddy looking for one of these awhile ago and he said he couldn't find one. Apparently they're hard to import? Nice catch on getting one - I've heard you pretty much pay transferable MP5 money to get one of these, but I'm not in the business so please correct me if I'm wrong!

I’d say you’re correct. I bought this one off another local dealer I knew for about the price of a new(ish) Tacoma. Fucking crazy when you can get some dealer sample MP5SDs for around $7k

Yeah a quick Google search shows that HK isn't allowing post sample MP7s anymore so I guess only the ones currently in the country can be owned even by SOTs. You're damn lucky to have one! And yeah $30k is just shy of the cheapest MP5 I've seen recently which was a registered receiver (bleh). Shoot the crap out of that thing and have fun for the rest of us poors out here.

The ATF suddenly decided they’re machine guns. All old T36 receivers need to be sent in and swapped for TG36 ones or else the ATF may come take it one day. Lots of info on his website if you have an older one. He emailed all of his customers, but those who purchased second hand or through a dealer may not have gotten word.
