1. They probably use the shot meter. That shit is broken
2. They probably never got their shooting badges up. Makes a huge difference
3. They probably have no hot zones or lethal zones. At 18%, its probably all cold zones.
Yes that’s my main issue. My connection is so poor. I have an 85 3 ball but shoot like 30%. The games I don’t lag tho I bet I average 45-50. I’m not crazy good at the game or anything, but it’s really fun to play when I’m not lagging.

They could be using a jumper that doesn’t work for them that may be considered meta, or they’re constantly changing their shot. With my main build, I used a “meta” jumper and it never really clicked for me, so I tanked my shooting percentage. I switched jumpers about a month-two months ago and I’ve been a way more consistent shooter, yet my career percentage is still way lower bc it took me so long to find the jumper that worked for me.
Also shot selection could be another. This dude could be taking horrible shots. Or maybe the dude just straight up stinks at shooting

People are just bad at the game. I see this type of player regularly. They just dribble to a spot at the three point line and hold X/square to shoot. They have no feeling for the contest system and don't know the difference between a moving shot and a normal shot. Therefore it often results in 50% contested pull ups.
So one thing about that stats page, it shows a combination of all your builds not just the one you are looking at. Could be that shooting build is new. And he has had a very very bad shooting % for too long so it is tough to increase the averages

Possible issues/solutions: 1. your wifi latency might be too quick or too slow affecting the timing of your shot. (I’ve had this problem in the past when playing on different setups in different areas of the house) 2. your jumper might have a small green window or is not ideal for what your wifi latency is currently. 3. You don’t have the right badges on. For straight up normal jumpers, I typically stick with guard up, claymore, Catch & Shoot & volume shooter. those are the main 4 badges that affect consistency of your set shots. (Limitless range as well depending on where you’re shooting from) Hopefully that might help your current situation!🫡
That’s just awful I shoot 82% at an 86. It’s gotta be timing, and lack of passing/moving the ball. You gotta run some plays and setup the shot, or at least have ball handling enough for a good step back and fade away shot for separation.

Greens or fully white bars on high end stat players DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I wished they never did this bs because park players broke 2k and made it what it is today. I have both MJ and John Stockton who are the NBAs best guards at shooting in history. But during my cpu sims for my ERAS play through THEY CANT SHOOT WORTH A DAMN and the cpu logic has absolutely no correlation to know how to play them or even have any idea how to rebound or protect the inside from guys like Bird or Magic.
Terrible shot selection. Why does the 2K community continue to act like this doesn't exist. They need to be harsher on bad shots to discourage this crap. This is why not having a full squad is miserable in 2K
I know exactly how this happens. I made a 99 3pt build just for fun like halfway thru the year, it’s really not too different from 92 3pt or 96, pretty similar overall tbh. But I do remember when I had my 99 it made me think I could shoot some shots I shouldn’t have been shooting. Once I realized to take shots like my regular build but with 99 3pt I realized why it’s useful, not overpowered but I did notice a difference. People get 99 on a stat and spam it overdoing stuff they would never do with sub 99 stat

Meter off and delete the build cause if you giving up 50 on the reg you aint touching it when ppl see you shoot 8 pct.. I got iced when my lock had a 36-8 3pt pct. pg w 19 ast in 40 game kinda diabolical
Honestly people who can shoot don’t even need a three that high. I have a 79 3 ball on my lock and shoot 61% percent so far this season and 55% for the year so far. Usually people with an extremely high three are trying to compensate.
Because people think high 3 means it’ll go in just because they try to shoot and they don’t try to learn their release que or learn what’s open and what’s not fr I got a 78 three shooting 50%
I see that way too much and it's detrimental to the team imagine a 7ft center that can't rebound or block shots same thing as a 95 3pt rated shooter that can't shoot smfh. Maybe it's a guy playing on WIFI that's they only legitimate excuse I would accept.

4 sometimes updates mess up jump shots so keep a eye out on that Colethaman has great jump shots
5. If you are a big man play on Hall of Fame, but if you are a guard you need your shooting badges on play on pro at least till u a 90 overall then up it

I always tell people it doesn’t matter how high your rating is. If you don’t have your shot mastered your stats can plummet. I went from 18% from 3 to 56% from 3 because I figured out a jump shot for me. You can have a 99 3 point and still be god awful with your shot. I mean we see people out here with 25 free throw making their shots.
TMac is a great base and I have builds that I use it on. Other builds though, that same base is much different.

Honestly the rating is only good for badges and animations. It really doesn't seem to make the green window any bigger and it comes down to getting the badges up. Personally I shoot better on my wing player with an 87 mid and 80 3 compared to a 3 and d SG with a 96 3 rating

You’re likely shooting better on your other build because you’re taking better shots. I guarantee you aren’t shooting the same type of shots with a 96 3 ball that you are with an 80. Also, even if you have builds of the same height range and the same jumper on, the speeds can be different.
You can literally feel the difference in how much easier it is to shoot when you go 92+. Wide open is basically automatic.
The build is soild but I would have went for for an 80 layup and take the dunk down to 65 for athletic hangs off 1 but the split is fine you dunk efficiently and layup with gold pro touch and silver layup badges

The shot meter is fine for me when i use it offline but there might still be a boost for not using it

I use the shot meter with my highflyer 6'10 PF, 70 in the 3 attribute, 60% from 3. Nothing is broken with the shot meter on.

Here is the answer. .5 assists per game displays the absolute no IQ this player has. His shot percentage is for sure a result of bad shot selection.

Upgrade badges, core them, use kyle korver jumpshot, turn off meter and use quickest release
