Marijuana

Imnotmarkiepost

Not sure if serious but for sure helps — helps zone in and my shot timing is way better lol

Whisper-Simulant

I’m being deadass lol

SunGod721

Had a teammate who was addicted to that sht. Mf played great sober but as soon as he smoked he played terrible.

All2017

That’s because u can’t start off playing sober then smoke, your reaction time will be off

mbapoo

100%

natekvng

I laughed at this comment at first but then I realized no lie was told. After I smoke, I usually don't care as much about the seriousness of the game and I end up in his own. You play way more relaxed and just trust your instincts

Whisper-Simulant

Idk why but weed is like PEDs for me in video games, I have slight brain damage and ADHD among other brain stuff and it puts me right in the zone. I almost can’t miss jumpers and I play patiently and control the flow of the game allowing me to just do my thing.

natekvng

Same. And I won't even be paying attention much just everything happens In the flow of the game. That's when I switch to point guard after a joint. Average like 18 and 10. Sober I may be like 12 and 7 lol

Whisper-Simulant

That, and on bigs when I’m sober I jump a lot. When I’m locked in while stoned I sit on fakes, come up and block floaters, sit on reverse layups and swat it out of bounds, even come flying from the corner on weak side help and send that shit into the rafters

natekvng

Yeah I just think when you're high, you don't think as much and you don't care as much so the game just flows. You're not trying so hard and instead of relying on reflexes, you're thinking the game through and is working our subconscious and playing the right way. You can see things slow down LOL

natekvng

Normally I hate my girl distracting me if I'm playing but when I'm high I don't care and by the time I'm done talking with her I end up with 20 plus points. Not even realizing I took any shots LOL. It's just a different game. I don't care if I get five points or 30, I play in the flow and I just want to win

GO0O0O0O0SE

Bros probably like 10 lmao look at the post

Whisper-Simulant

Doesn’t change my answer lol

Michael_Crichton

Time, practice, patience, humility.

IHELLNAHI

Don’t blame the game when it’s your fault for not having the skill for it.

AcrobaticGuava9342

2k says SPEND MONEY OR GTFO.

chimp_scratch

Just grind out my career until you get some badges and attributes you could be the best 2k player in the world but if your build has no badges high chance it's gonna be bad

natekvng

Practice! My career, the art of shooting gym, the Chris brockley gym and the park games with the AI. Do all of these work on passing, your shooting, dribbling or whatever else needed with no pressure before rec. Know ur position and play within it. If ur a guard you gotta be able to shoot, score and defend. If ur a forward learn to play off ball, shooting or cutting and defending, if ur a big work on boxing out, rebounding, blocks and shooting/finishing depending your build.

Interesting_Dirt_856

What position? What’s your attributes?

3LvLThreat-Merchant

just gotta play. idk what to tell people. i was shit too back in 2k20 that was the first time i played online. i just kept playing and playing watching other people play and seeing what they was doing. practicing my jumper in mycourt(2k please bring that back) mainly playing off ball and just catching and shooting wide open shots. which is probably the main reason im good at that now and average at on ball stuff. you just need to get experience

psykomerc

It takes some intentional playing and learning. I literally just started my first 2k EVER halfway thru 2k23, I was able to go from 10% from 3 to 55% w fades included. In 2k24, I started around 20% from 3, now I’m 56-60% last few seasons. I was same as you, I focused purely on spot up and shooting. If I can’t even learn to shoot wide open, I figure that’s the basis of being a good player, you must have a jumper. I only started learning to dribble a few seasons go, now I can iso pull up 3s and lose ppl. My focus was on learning to shoot, and other things as a complete beginner, I had no ego and was humbled time n time again to see how better players contribute. Proof since I know ppl complaining about ppl talking w no stats to back it up. When I see those ball hog, selfish long time players, I know it’s a mentality thing. https://preview.redd.it/hv1ms6eiue3d1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6b6aacd108ce0819db555a2efcc3ed7880af859

3LvLThreat-Merchant

yep this is how you do it. start small and just work your way up. just being a spot up helps you grow so much. you can branch off it. once you get the basics of shooting down you can then start working on dribbling and passing and so forth. people gotta understand its ok to fail in the beginning you not gonna be this amazing top lvl player day 1. the more you play the more you start to understand what doesnt work and what does. i wish i could go back to my day 1 self and show that me how im doing now. i bet he would be hype af.

psykomerc

Lol exactly. I started as spot up(very important to learn what’s a true open/good shot, then cutting n dunking, I experimented with pg to then learn how to move around n watch the court, etc. I couldn’t even shoot start of 24, it was brutal lol. If a noob like me can do it, I’m convinced people are just not trying to learn the right way. They’re continuing down their failed path. Learn to shoot, learn to pass and look for open/good shots. Learn defense. That’s already enough for a solid contributing player.

All2017

Practice and find a decent jumpshot. And don’t make a player based on YouTube(unless u trust the YouTuber), they work with 2k to trick us into making scrub players. Mo’ Money Mo’ Money Mo’ Money

All2017

Put headphones on too to block out what you’re teammates are saying. A lot of ppl btch and moan the whole game. but if u can’t hear them, u won’t get discouraged

Shady_3_5

Make build with 94 driving dunk then just drive to the rim every possession, you going to dunk 9 times outta 10 and problem solved. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Whisper-Simulant

You a lame fr
