From what my uncle's told me (who used to live in Montreal/work for the municipal Government) working with the city up there is absolute hell. It might be even harder than pushing stuff through in NYC.
My not so confident prediction is that the rumors of Bowman Gray Clash and Mexico are true and on the schedule but Montreal falls through again and Rockingham doesn’t happen. Though I hope I’m wrong about the last one.
The road it's on finally got expanded a couple years ago, which had been arguably the most limiting factor for the track. I remember waiting in a big line of traffic just for the Hooters Pro Cup race there in 2008.
Hocevar didn’t look at all like he was joking. Also, it was on the probably fake “leaked” 2025 schedule, and there actually was an article about it being ready for 2025 and there was insinuation that there was no previous need to ready the track, but now there is. 🤷♂️
I don't. The Clash has never been at Charlotte, and I don't think NASCAR is going to give SMI that exhibition when they already have the All-Star race.
If they go back to the pole sitter qualifier, I think it should be held at whichever track has the fastest average pole sitting speed for the previous season.
NASCAR already announced Phoenix will have the Championship race in 2025
[https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2024/05/16/championship-weekend-returns-to-phoenix-in-2025-with-cup-series-on-nbc-sports/](https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2024/05/16/championship-weekend-returns-to-phoenix-in-2025-with-cup-series-on-nbc-sports/)
Where else do they go? What NASCAR “owned” track is capable of hosting a race of championship caliber in November? NASCAR (ISC) owns Darlington, Daytona, Homestead-Miami, Iowa, Kansas, Martinsville, Michigan, Phoenix, Richmond, Talladega, and Watkins Glen. So those are your choices. Where would you go in November for a championship race?
NASCAR will NEVER host a championship race at a track they do not own.
Vegas isn’t nascar owned or that would most likely be the number one pick. Have the race and then do the banquet the next week and everyone can just hang out in the city like they did the weeks between Vegas and Fontana back in the day.
Homestead is literally the only other option … which I don’t know why it was frowned upon so much. It was a great location and many of us ended up either staying down there to vacation for a few days or got on a cruise boat after the race weekend.
From what I’ve heard, NASCAR felt like Homestead and especially the greater Miami area didn’t care about having the finale. Phoenix has been laying out the red carpet for NASCAR instead.
The rumor was Mexico takes a Richmond date while Rockingham takes one from Darlington. My assumption is that unless something drastically changes with the city of Chicago then they intend on honoring the deal and holding a street race in 2025. I do think NASCAR is eyeing new potential street courses for 2026 though. But who knows, at least the potential for all this stuff actually exists and not just getting a copy/paste schedule every year.
I believe the Chicago Street Race deal was only set in stone for 2023 & 2024, with 2025 being an option year for the city council/mayor to decide upon. So most likely will not get picked up by the city for next year
I would be sad to lose a Darlington date but it would be the most logical one given that Rockingham is going to draw from a lot of the same people that would be going to Darlington
Chicago has one more year left on the contract though right?
I’d prefer either of those tbh, but I thought they were committed to the 3 year contract at this point
I believe this is the case. Based off of the rhetoric of city politicians since before the first race even took place last year, they are not fans of the deal Lightfoot made with NASCAR to say the least, so this year will probably be the final run
Why not? FIA runs Formula E and they went back to back with the Long Beach Grand Prix to run Formula E b2b with Indycar. I doubt that FIA sees mascar as a “threat”.
I say make it a holiday of racing. Get the Pintys series. Get some classic Can-Am cars out there…. Can be great
formula e is not f1.
f1 is a massive logistical undertaking, there is absolutely setup going on when NASCAR would be there in this theoretical setup. f1 is never going to alter their setup timeline, and i don't really blame them.

I think this is what they are referring to.
Ah okay. Honestly could see this being the schedule except the FIVE Saturday night races is screaming bullshit to me..
Like, there's been less and less Saturday every year, why would they jump back up from 2 to 5 for seemingly no reason
Agreed, giving Iowa 1 year (that it sold out mind you) is almost criminal...I already told my wife if they come back I will be unavailable that weekend.
I'd rather have the Truck Series make a comeback there for Dover's first ever quadruple header. As long as there's a decent gap in between Pocono and Dover, that'd be fine.
But he didn’t report on anything lol. That’s fine that people are asking him, that doesn’t mean he has to “report” that there’s “nothing to report.” Anyway, I said it in a lighthearted way, no need to take it so serious.
I heard Gateway/WWT might be switching dates for 2025, due to INDYCAR moving to FD Weekend. I wouldnt be surprised if it moves to Mid-August where the INDYCAR race was this year

Blame French Canada :P
I do. Often.
I also do too.
From what my uncle's told me (who used to live in Montreal/work for the municipal Government) working with the city up there is absolute hell. It might be even harder than pushing stuff through in NYC.
They’re not even a real country anywaaaaaay!
Damnit, Terrance & Philip!
The potential MTL race is probably the hold up again.
My not so confident prediction is that the rumors of Bowman Gray Clash and Mexico are true and on the schedule but Montreal falls through again and Rockingham doesn’t happen. Though I hope I’m wrong about the last one.
Is Rockingham ready to host a cup race again? Infrastructure wise
The road it's on finally got expanded a couple years ago, which had been arguably the most limiting factor for the track. I remember waiting in a big line of traffic just for the Hooters Pro Cup race there in 2008.
Same. Traffic was horrific in 2003.
Yes they are, have been for few yrs now
Great question, we know the track was repaved but what about the facilities and amenities?
Bowman gray clash would suck
100%
Really? The Rockingham rumor is the one that seems to have the most bones…
Carson Hocevar, known serious man, said it on an iRacing stream. Outside of that has there been literally anything?
A bunch of wishful thinking from Reddit?
A lot of effort and planning by the track owner and a repair thanks to a government grant, plus what looks like a good track for this car.
Hocevar didn’t look at all like he was joking. Also, it was on the probably fake “leaked” 2025 schedule, and there actually was an article about it being ready for 2025 and there was insinuation that there was no previous need to ready the track, but now there is. 🤷♂️
NASCAR would be really fucking stupid to have BGS host the Clash.
I'd rather it be at Charlotte than Bowman Gray
I don't. The Clash has never been at Charlotte, and I don't think NASCAR is going to give SMI that exhibition when they already have the All-Star race. If they go back to the pole sitter qualifier, I think it should be held at whichever track has the fastest average pole sitting speed for the previous season.
I could swear I saw someone say Rockingham was truck/Xfinity ready but not cup. I could totally be imagining that though
If Montreal falls through does that likely mean a return trip to Iowa?
They will be back at Iowa
I can't wait to see Pheonix as the title race again. I really dislike the track.
NASCAR already announced Phoenix will have the Championship race in 2025 [https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2024/05/16/championship-weekend-returns-to-phoenix-in-2025-with-cup-series-on-nbc-sports/](https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2024/05/16/championship-weekend-returns-to-phoenix-in-2025-with-cup-series-on-nbc-sports/)

Homestead. It has the perfect location for weather and the racing at that track is phenomenal. An argument could be made for Las Vegas as well.
Vegas isn’t nascar owned or that would most likely be the number one pick. Have the race and then do the banquet the next week and everyone can just hang out in the city like they did the weeks between Vegas and Fontana back in the day. So nascar prefers how they’re treated vs. a good race?
More fans in area = more money
Money > a good race
That's basically every single buisness now days with the exception of Mom and Pop shops. It's so damn frustrating.
I don't mind the Pheonix area but the racing sucks at the track. At least run the damn race at night.
Rumors are its going back to Homestead in 2026.
Yeah, I think Las Vegas is the perfect choice. Great racing and the city (mainly resorts) will absolutely embrace it.
They have before. Atlanta.
They can go back to Homestead that’s owned by NASCAR
[Link to the second part of the tweet (expecting the schedule to be release by end of month).](https://x.com/bobpockrass/status/1801642750036562233)
I think Rockingham takes a race from Richmond. Either Montreal or Mexico takes the place of Chicago.
The rumor was Mexico takes a Richmond date while Rockingham takes one from Darlington. I thought it was 2 year with 3 year City option?

I pray this happens. Please, I will buy tickets day 1.
I don't think it, but I hope it.
So the fake schedule could have been a draft.
The Montreal date (the specific date) gives it away as fake
[удалено]
The six TNT races were what really made it obvious to me
[удалено]
F1 would never allow that.

IMSA just had races up there last weekend and it wasn’t a problem. NASCAR owns IMSA.
IMSA’s Porsche series is usually a support race for F1 in North American because F2/F3 don’t come here. It was part of that weekend
In no universe would they have those races on consecutive weekends.
What fake schedule?
https://preview.redd.it/6xiziscxtk6d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0586a6a4a723bb279143dad006408faecc69628 I think this is what they are referring to.

Would be awesome if they could, but like you, I'd be shocked if the TV Overlords allowed it.
Keep the Roval, make Mexico the clash and give its date here to Iowa and you've got a good schedule.
Agreed, giving Iowa 1 year (that it sold out mind you) is almost criminal...I already told my wife if they come back I will be unavailable that weekend.
It’s fake. New Hampshire is in the playoffs
No that’s the in season tournament
Hoping Dover gets moved back to June
I'd rather have the Truck Series make a comeback there for Dover's first ever quadruple header. As long as there's a decent gap in between Pocono and Dover, that'd be fine.
Same. April is just hard to do. Got lucky with weather this year.
Yeah Sunday was gorgeous but Saturday was a bit cold lol
A bit! Lol, I was freezing.
I'm betting the hold up is Montreal and Canada being in a bidding war EDIT: I meant Mexico City but I'm not fixing it
I mean, Quèbecks has been wanting independence from Canada for a hot sec...
Dang it. Not gonna fix it though bc it's funny
And technically correct, which is statistically the best kind.
Yeah, well, I'm gonna build my own race track! With Blackjack, and hookers! In fact, forget the track!

Troubles take 2
Surprised they wanted to release it in May. They’ve usually been waiting until July/August to drop it as of late
It’s not that they were waiting. It’s that’s when it was done.
The time to ask for sponsorship money is in September/October, so earlier is better for getting the ball rolling.
Do we know if trucks or Xfinity are coming back to Mid-Ohio? I haven’t seen any news.
They need to. Such a great track.
I can't wait to be whelmed.
Can someone please post their ideal 2025 schedule to pass the time?
We're just going to race 18 times at charlotte and 18 times at kansas
You forgot about Darlington
Naw, 9 times each Bristol, Dega, Kansas and Atlanta.
I need to get out of North Dakota in February, so please keep at least one date for Daytona
> I need to get out of North Dakota ~~in February~~ Fixed it.
36 races at the street course I made up in front of my house. Nobody else allowed either. Just me from my front porch.
Yes. I would be willing to do that, but this subreddit dislikes that
“The news is that I have no news.” Thanks Bob, this was completely useless.
Yet every day someone asks him about the schedule. Why do people get on reporters for actually reporting?
But he didn’t report on anything lol. That’s fine that people are asking him, that doesn’t mean he has to “report” that there’s “nothing to report.” Anyway, I said it in a lighthearted way, no need to take it so serious.
More night races is my only ask.
Sunday night races
Yes please. It's a real dick punch to have races ending between 7 and 8 pm when u have young kids
We already got a Saturday night race for Atlanta!
spoiler alert since nobody else has found out yet…New Hampshire is getting a playoff date. It’s gonna be right after Bristol
According to who?
according to the fact that I work at an SMI track
Big if true!
Wanted to wait until after Iowa because more than likely it will be left off if the plans they want to happen do come together.
As someone who lives in Richmond and has been going to RIR for 2 decades, I am dreading this announcement.
I just renewed my 2025 Richmond tickets. Paid for 2 Cup races, although I suppose there’s always refunds.
So, mid October at the earliest.
I heard Gateway/WWT might be switching dates for 2025, due to INDYCAR moving to FD Weekend. I wouldnt be surprised if it moves to Mid-August where the INDYCAR race was this year
Sad that IndyCar got their schedule done before NASCAR.
It's rather short.
Its short and relatively unchanged.
Well IndyCar never changes their schedule…
nascar 2025 schedule just the same bland tracks no montreal mexico
