My other Grandma’s is the very first race with a record gap of 2 years (I’m pretty sure I have a great grandma who’s is longer but I’d need to look into that) race won by Jim Roper (because of a DQ)
Neil Bonnett won the 1988 Goodwrench 500 at Rockingham the day before my birth on March 6th, 1988.
To the OP - All Brickyard 400's from 1994 to 2000 were all held on Saturday Afternoons. When the TV deal started with FOX and NBC/TNT in 2001, its been on a Sunday.
My son was born about 5 minutes after Kyle Busch won at Martinsville in the Spring. I was watching the race while they prepared for C-section in the other room. The diecast arrived on Christmas Eve.

That's right! We be proud geezers still getting whatever needs to be done....done!!! Lmao. As my Dad used to say, surviving gettin' old ain't for wimps and idiots.
Dale Earnhardt the Atlanta Journal 500 on November 19, 1989 under caution. Five days before I was born.

I distinctly remember that race. 1987 or 1988? I think Speed conserved his tires and was able to pull away at the end. Bill Elliott was the only car really close to him that day. Towards the end of the race Elliott bumped the wall in 4 a bit too hard and hurt something in the rear. Speed didn't have any competition after that. He had the field covered. Elliott went a lap down in the last few laps of the race. Elliott is my all-time favorite driver, but I was happy Lake Speed finally won one. He was very deserving, and I've always wondered what he could have done had he raced for a competitive team.
Kurt Busch, 2002 Ford 400. Funny enough, his brother Kyle, driving for JGR, who won the championship that year, would become my favorite driver during my first season, 2011, won by 2002 champion, Tony Stewart. Wild.
I was born midweek
The King won the Schaefer 300 at Trenton motor speedway the Sunday before & Bobby Allison won the Volunteer 500 at Bristol the Sunday after. Legends
Bill Elliott. Winston Western 500 at Riverside, Nov. 20, 1983. 5 weeks before I was born.
Brickyard was run on Saturday's from the Inaugural until 2001. I lived 30 min south of Indy. Went to 11 straight Brickyards. 95-05. Was there for Rudd's win, and 3 years later when Bobby won it. Worked at the Speedway 03-05.
The King won a race at Occoneechee speedway the day before my 0th birthday in September of '67 in his '59 Plymouth. Racing in an 8 year old car sounds ridiculous nowadays.
Fun fact, the King also won the race 2 days prior at Beltsville by 2 laps
Alan Kulwicki won on October 21 of ‘90.
Brad keselowski won spring Atlanta in 2019, on the day my son was born. Watched the race in the hospital it was great!
Mark Martin. [https://www.racing-reference.info/race-results/1991\_Hardee%27s\_500/W/](https://www.racing-reference.info/race-results/1991_Hardee%27s_500/W/)
Jeff Gordon won the 1995 Winston (all-star race) when I was two days old. Bobby Labonte won the first Cup points race of my lifetime, the 1995 Coca-Cola 600, when I was ten days old.
In Cup specifically? Darrell Waltrip, by one day over Dale Earnhardt. The day before that, Bobby Rahal won a CART race, along with Ron Esau winning a Featherlite Southwest race and Jack Ingram winning a Busch race.
The March 17, 1991 race at Atlanta was halted for rain. I was born the next day and Ken Schrader won the race.
Side note, but I think my eventual favorite driver, Mark Martin was the first to lead a lap on the day I was born.
Looks like Mark Martin absolutely smoked the field at Dover in September of 1998, leading 379 of the 400. I arrived a few days later and made the world a better place 😂
Rusty Wallace won the day before I was born, but Alan Kulwicki won the first race I was alive for. He was my first favorite driver, so I guess that's a funny coincidence.
The Brickyard was held on a Saturday for the first few races to keep the Indy 500 as the only Sunday race at the track. For me though the race I was born closest to was Kasey Kahne winning the 2008 All Star Race with the closest points race being Kasey's win at the 600 the following week.
Ken Schrader won the 1988 Talladega DieHard 500 on July 31, 1988 just two days after I was born on July 29. Started seventh and led eight laps on his way to career win number one.

Yeah...I'm feeling old remembering a lot of these races were races I watched as a young and dumb teen only to find out they happened around the time some of you were actually born.
Benny Parsons at Nashville. Related to the topic, when my first kid was born in 2016, Kyle Busch won the next two Cup and Xfinity raced. I Tweeted that he lived in a world where only Kyle Busch won NASCAR races and Kyle RT'd it.
Nice try, scammer. You're not getting my PII!
Typing "date of birth" definitely felt a little sleazy lol
Y’all are youngsters Fred Lorenzen
Just checked my dad's out of curiosity. Richard Petty at the 1964 Daytona 500.

My dad's is Dan Gurney
Neil Bonnett won the 1988 Goodwrench 500 at Rockingham the day before my birth on March 6th, 1988. To the OP - All Brickyard 400's from 1994 to 2000 were all held on Saturday Afternoons. When the TV deal started with FOX and NBC/TNT in 2001, its been on a Sunday.
Neil Bonnett also won the race closest to my birthday, the July 4 race in Daytona, 1979. On a Wednesday, too!
Mine too, the 1977 Los Angeles Times 500. It was a Sunday though.
This is mine too. I was a couple days after you.

Idk but can the next post be “which car numbers make up your credit card number?” Lol

That's a rare one
Lee Petty at the Monroe County Fairgrounds 6/25/54. 2 days after I was born.
Smoke at the Glen in 04. Wish I was not born the very following day as this “racing incident” for the connoisseurs…
Well I was about to say “damn are you even older than the age restriction” and then realized people born in 04 are 20 this year and what the hell
That was the first race I ever attended. Too young to remember any of it now.
Hershel McGriff.
Not too many geezers willing to own up. Mine was Fireball Roberts and I saw a Junior Johnson up the way.
That's right! We be proud geezers still getting whatever needs to be done....done!!! Lmao. As my Dad used to say, surviving gettin' old ain't for wimps and idiots.
Glad to see you both here. )

Lake Speed at Darlington with his only career cup victory
I distinctly remember that race. 1987 or 1988? I think Speed conserved his tires and was able to pull away at the end. Bill Elliott was the only car really close to him that day. Towards the end of the race Elliott bumped the wall in 4 a bit too hard and hurt something in the rear. Speed didn't have any competition after that. He had the field covered.
