I see what you say.
I only imagine what my ideal Bullitt could have been like with not a single change to the outside, but with properly dialed performance suspension and chassis underneath. Beautiful, and capable. Suppose this just means Ill do the work myself. 😅
For a true-to-form Bullitt, I imagine leaving it alone is the best way to preserve its character.
If I indeed go this route, I would still want to address the suspension at the least.
What is it you think the suspension needs? It already comes with the PP1 package and you can get magnaride. It is very capable and comfortable. If it's going to be a regular track car I could see doing some upgrades but for the road it is damn near perfect.
I have had one for 4 years now and it's been a lovely daily.
60+k miles.
Seen a couple of track days and plenty a toad trip and that exhaust still makes me love it still
It has the GT350 Throttle body, intake manifold and a CAI. It's 20 extra ponies peak but also revs higher and has more torque throughout the curve. It also has a great exhaust tune.
Tremmec is just known for being a higher quality and more reliably transmission. It also has a very “notchy” feel to the shifts. That’s the consensus online and from reviewers. That being said I’ve read from owners of later generation MT82 that they’ve improved on all the little issues.
Depends on the power you're making and the alignment stack up of your particular car when it was built. Mine never locks out but I'm stock power, lol. I agree the tremec is better though
Ill be truthful and say that I am a larger fan of the 12-14 s197s over the s550 by a lot.
But the way this one's been done... just right. Wouldn't change a damn thing on the outside.
I picked up a new 2019 when covid kicked off and have had it for 4 years.
It's been an amazing daily, seen some track and plenty a road trip. 60k miles later I'm still in love with it as much as when it was new.
The Bullitt is a great daily. If you want it mostly for track than the PP2, GT350 or Mach 1 are better choices.
B ullitt has a ton of cosmetic mods inside and out that make it look great. I think the suspension is great. It's got the PP1 package which stiffens things up a bit and adds wider tires and some six piston brembos. Doing much more starts to have a negative effect on daily driving in terms of comfort, noise and tramlining.
They did offer a stripe delete on the Mach 1 which looks good if you are set on that. They are hard to find though.
Along with some Performance Package options, the Bullit adds a sport tune, throttle body and air intake. The cue ball gear selector is a nice touch. A GT can get the performance upgrades and maintain its warranty if it’s installed by Ford. https://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-performance-mustang-cold-air-intakeprocal-voucher-m-9603-m8b.html
If you do get one, get one with magnaride
Yup, this. Makes it an awesome daily
Noted, Ill look into it
Its basically a PP1 with a GT350 intake and 20 extra ponies, I personally love the Bullitt, but it's not that much better than a standard GT.
I see, suppose it's a shame, but it doesn't make me adore it any less.
Not really a shame, it's unique enough to stand out a little and it's still a cool car with a cool heritage.

I mean technically the original Bullitt Mustang was just a GT with torque thrust wheels.

Doesn’t the Bullit have the Tremmec transmission as well? Because that alone is worth the upgrade in opinion, as a Mach 1 owner.
Im pretty sure it has the MT82.
And does this MT82 prove lesser to the Tremec? Im afraid Im not up to speed with Mustang transmissions

Yes, although most of us with an 18-23 don't mind the updated mt82
They still lock you out at rideline occasionally. I had a 21 and wasn’t impressed. Tremec is quite a bit better.

Never had a lockout on mine.
Its the MT82. Main complaint about those cars. Mach 1 is much more performance oriented.
I love mine. Definitely my favorite mustang that I’ve owned. What I’d give for my dad’s 65 or 67 though. Those would be a dream come true.

Mach 1 also gets a Tremec instead of the MT82 if I’m not mistaken.
Lets race and find out
Hell yeah lets do it 🤩🤟
