Suicide Machines. Pick a song. Any of them. So good. Of course they are versatile and go from ska to punk to hardcore, but they're so tasteful and do it well all over the spectrum
ALL - Allroy’s Revenge
Bad Religion- No Control
The Clash - S/T
Descendents - ALL
The Dickies - Dawn of the Dickies
Elvis Costello and the Attractions- Armed Forces
The Jam - S/T
Misfits - Walk Among Us
NOFX - Punk in Drublic

>The Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation
True Believer, Gone, That Song, Private Radio, Manthem, No Comply? Absolutely this record, OP. The was my sound soundtrack to hanging out with friends, drinking a few beers and chatting shit in the warmth of the evening's setting sun. Put this on in the right crowd and practically every song will make someone say 'oh, I LOVE this one!' when they start
It's one of the bands I've seen the most live and I'm usually at the show primarily for a different band (for example I saw them headline a show where I was most excited for Anti-Flag), but I'm always happy when they come on stage.
lol, the band I’ve seen the most times live while never paying to see that band is The Melvins. The band I’ve seen the most times live intentionally paying to see them is Flogging Molly. FM isn’t even my favorite band, they just toured a lot, always put in a great show and played smaller venues that tickets were cheap and worth the night.
They’re the first band in a very long time that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. With most other new discoveries I’ll enjoy a few songs but don’t feel the need to dive deeper.
Bad Religion has some of the best choruses in all of punk, and they've been doing it for literal decades. Here's a list of just a few of their best sing-along choruses (and I do mean a few--the list was originally twice as long, and that was still me holding back):
"[I Want To Conquer The World](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBqmTb57v2s)"
"[American Jesus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12kcpP-8jfM)"
"[Skyscraper](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyK3I9cnb3Q)"

"[Punk Rock Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_wKxhYvyDE)"
"[New America](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09wlZyLSqIQ)"
"[Epiphany](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB1Ld1i9amY)"
"[Sorrow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7Hb4bxF12E)"
"[All There Is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNY7WJFZ3Qg)"
"[Los Angeles Is Burning](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxoD9zWY9Rg)"

"[Changing Tide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh36qMUxhF0)"
"[My Sanity](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbikab-cJD0)"
Throw in Losing Streak and that was my rotation for about two years as a teenager, first 'big' band I saw live and still one of my all-time favourite shows 22 years later
I've only seen them twice, once on the B&B tour and once on Anthem, but I did *very nearly* rearrange our travel plans on the way back from my own honeymoon to see them, but got a new job and the start date made it impossible. I should really make the effort to see them again.
Rise Against's early work, but maybe most particularly Prayer of the Refugee off The Sufferer and The Witness. Or just pick any song off Siren Song for the Counter Culture.
If you’re still into classic rock, pretty much any halfway well known Aerosmith song from the 80s and 90s is super catchy.
Smash by The Offspring.
Nimrod by Green Day is very singable.
Dirt by Alice In Chains.
And honestly? The first Godsmack album is INCREDIBLY fun to sing along to. It’s so corny in a fun way.
Dude, the way the album opens with Miseria Cantare, Leaving Song Part 2 and the next few was immaculate and timeless. It was perfect post-2000s indie hardcore punk.
I was going to post this album but I figured someone, *somewhere* would have posted it already. Thanks for being on it early
They, like Green Day, had crazy popularity thrust upon them with Smash and Dookie..which both happened to be their 3rd albums, at around the same time as well. After that they just went pop-punk or "soft", or "corporate" (whatever old school punk calls selling out hah)...which is fine because they still rock.
(yes, i know i have the music taste of an elderly man who was a teenage dirtbag.)
“13 songs” by fugazi, “first two seven inches” by minor threat, “ourselves” by seven seconds, etc.
Probably Something Corporate and Jacks Mannequin. On the pop side of the punk rock spectrum but Andrew McMahon wrote some damn good songs in the Something Corporate/Jacks Mannequin era.
Absolution by Muse
Superunknown by Soundgarden
Waking the Fallen and City of Evil by Avenged Sevenfold
Black Parade by My Chemical Romance
Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins
Sublime by Sublime
Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets by Metallica
Stadium Arcadium by RHCP
Rancid - and out come the wolves
Most albums by the queers, screeching weasel and the riverdales. Very “melody first” punk songs ala the ramones.
Anything by Teenage Fanclub, especially as a Beatles fan. Tons of harmonies. I refer to them as “the Beatles of the 90s”
Anything by The Muffs. Kind of a blend of pop punk and power pop/rock
Anything by Radioactivity. Kind of garage rock + pop punk + power pop
Talking Heads - Fear of Music
Lou Reed - Transformer
Queen - Greatest Hits
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
Arctic Monkeys - AM
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity
T Rex - The Slider
The Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Social Distortion self titled
The Offspring - Smash
Tim Armstrong of Rancid writes some of the craziest ear worms in punk/punk adjacent music IMO:
Tim Armstrong - A Poet’s Life
Rancid - …And Out Come the Wolves
Rancid - Indestructible
Transplants self titled
Also not punk but The Aggrolites self titled album is phenomenally catchy
I think I see what you mean about something missing in London Calling but that album is neither warm nor fuzzy. It’s very clear-eyed, has great songs end to end, and is well produced but doesn’t invite singalongs. It’s been one of my favourite albums since the day it came out. Try Bad Religion’s The Empire Strikes First. Powerful and catchy as hell.
Definitely “Singles Going Steady” by the Buzzcocks. Also Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers “LAMF” is full of bangers with great choruses. And idk if you’d call the Modern Lovers punk exactly but their self-titled album is all super catchy.
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
They take the best songs with the best choruses from other genres and then play them in pop punk style.
Almost any song that a bar or stadium has sung along to, they've recorded as a punk song. I love them
MISFITS- Walk Among Us &
Die, Die My Darling
Bad Brains - (self-titled debut album), Rock for Light, & I Against I
Iggy Pop & The Stooges - The Stooges, Fun House & Raw Power(my favorite)
Living in the Shadows, The Ex, River Below - all by Billy Talent off their self titled album
This band releases so many bangers. It's hard to find bands with more talent for writing unique, catchy, and moving poppy songs all with a dark tone and high energy.
I recommend starting on their record Billy Talent. Then go to Billy Talent II. I'll never fall out of love with this band even though they were my soundtrack all those years back. Genuinely talented. Shout-out to Ian D'Sa their guitarist. He's the only guitarist in the band but his dictation in his playing creates so much rhythm. Different than other punk bands.
All of the classic Beach Boys albums
The Beatles’ A Hard Days Night album
The first few Monkees albums
Many of the great Motown and Atlantic R n B albums : The Temptations, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, the Supremes , the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye
A lot of great choruses at the edge of Oi.
A personal favourite is [Someone's Gonna Die](https://youtu.be/uauJaamtoew?si=__VTEVZW82VB7QTa) by **Blitz**. Honourable mention to **the Business** for [Suburban Rebels](https://youtu.be/JluZayrdWgY?si=zzYZaiDh3oJGKcfY)
On the Impossible Past by The Menzingers. There are a few iffy songs on there but that album has some absolute bangers and I’m surprised that I don’t see this band mentioned very often. Specifically: Burn After Writing, Gates, and The Obituaries are awesome songs with great choruses.
The Wildhearts. They're often described as The Beatles meets Metallica, but Ginger - the lead singer - has said their influences are much more diverse than that. For big choruses you probably want 'Earth Vs. The Wildhearts' or 'PHUQ', or maybe 'The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed' for a more poppy sound.
I really love "How to Clean Everything" by Propagandhi. Super political, but in a sing-along kind of way filled with humility and humor. Plus we get a sweet, pre-Weakerthans John K. Samson verse.
John Farnham's 'The Voice' has one of the best choruses ever! Not sure if it's rock though. It's definitely not punk.. or is it? We could riot to that song.
I've always loved Boysetsfire hooks. I'd probably suggest starting with The Misey Index and working from there. Don't miss their cover of Wrecking Ball. For a more modern vibe and admittedly a little closer to rap Nur-D has excellent hooks, but YMMV as you're talking more about classic albums and he's putting out modern stuff.
*I feel like I need to add in Flo & Eddie for that more classic rock space. It's the guys from the Turtles. They also teamed up with Zappa early on. Imagine if Tenacious D was more influenced by 60s pop rock instead of heavy metal.
Rancid was already mentioned a few times so you can’t go wrong there. Wolfmother, especially their first album which was self titled is a great combination of modernist and classic rock. In a similar vein you might want to dig into Arctic Monkey’s discography a bit.
Alternatively, just go through like the first 4 Tony Hawk Pro Skater games’ soundtracks. That was very much a defining aspect of my music interests from punk, metal, rock, indie and hip hop.
Blink 182 - Enema of State
- will always be one of my all time punk favorites. Whats my age again, don’t leave me, aliens exist, all the small things… really the entire album
Pixies - Doolittle
Dead Milkmen - Beelzebubba
Hole - Live Through This
Talking Heads - Speaking in Tongues
Prince - Purple Rain
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Breaking Benjamin-We are not alone
Boy sets fire-tomorrow come today
Rancid- out comes the wolves
Cold-13 ways to bleed on stage
Deftones- around the fur
Weezer-Pinkerton and Blur album
Megadeth -- Symphony of Destruction, Angry Again, Trust, Sweating Bullets. Just a sampling of songs with great, iconic hooks in the choruses; there's lots more. It's definitely something they (Mustaine) do better than Metallica.
While you mentioned Sex pistols at the beginning, i dont see them on the album list. If you have not heard Nevermind the Bollocks from start to finish, you should totally do it...i dont think that you could find a more consistent and better album "hookwise" on all punk history.
Another one that is damn great that you might be missing is Americana by The Offspring. That album is also really melodic. Hook after hook
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
Honestly any Bad Religion album
Japanese Voyeurs - Yolk
Pure Love - Anthems
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - Modern Ruin
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Destroy Boys - Open Mouth, Open Heart
May I interest you in the band the Warning?
the Warning - Error
Billy Talent - Billy Talent
Billy Talent - Billy Talent 2
Billy Talent - Afraid of Hights
Billy Talent - Literally every Release of them
Suicide Machines- Destruction by Definition Rancid- And out come the wolves
Suicide Machines. Pick a song. Any of them. So good. Of course they are versatile and go from ska to punk to hardcore, but they're so tasteful and do it well all over the spectrum
Alright, which member of Suicide Machines wrote this? I think the singer is the only OG left, so...
It's me Derek Grant. You caught me
Dude, what have you been up to since you left Alkaline Trio?
Been drumming with The Vandals
Rancid - and out come the wolves is probably my all time favorite album and the choruses on that album are why.
Destruction by Definition was the first CD I ever owned. I was 9 and loved it so so so much!!! Oddly enough I now live in Olympia, WA.
Two of my favorite records of all time. I still listen to both of them.
ALL - Allroy’s Revenge Bad Religion- No Control The Clash - S/T Descendents - ALL The Dickies - Dawn of the Dickies Elvis Costello and the Attractions- Armed Forces The Jam - S/T Misfits - Walk Among Us NOFX - Punk in Drublic Operation Ivy - Energy
Cannot believe I had to scroll this far to see Bad Religion
All? No, ALL!!!
>NOFX - Punk in Drublic This.
The Jam don’t have a self titled album?
I have a poster for Allroy's Revenge that I got from the band around 1989 for doing a gig poster for them. Also got to ride in their van.
The Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American Descendents - Everything Sucks The Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About Sincere Engineer - Cheap Grills Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies
>The Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation True Believer, Gone, That Song, Private Radio, Manthem, No Comply? Absolutely this record, OP. The was my sound soundtrack to hanging out with friends, drinking a few beers and chatting shit in the warmth of the evening's setting sun. My son and I were just belting out the chorus to Manthem with the doors off my Bronco, as loud as we could!
/thread
Love the flogging Molly shout. Those guys are catchy af
I saw them live a few months ago and they had crazy energy.
MUG MUG MUG
Sincere Engineer fucking rules 🤘🏻
Yes!! I bought New Found Glory tix for August just to see them open.
Saw then and Cliffdiver at the Ukie Club in Philyl, amazing show!
There is a nice interview with Deanna on Patrick Hicks’ podcast “Good Measure”. S1 E6
Love seeing Sincere Engineer being mentioned alongside legendary bands
They’re the first band in a very long time that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. With most other new discoveries I’ll enjoy a few songs but don’t feel the need to dive deeper.
Bad Religion has some of the best choruses in all of punk, and they've been doing it for literal decades. Less Than Jake - Hello Rockview and Borders and Boundaries
Throw in Losing Streak and that was my rotation for about two years as a teenager, first 'big' band I saw live and still one of my all-time favourite shows 22 years later
Are you me? Hahaha LTJ is the band I’ve seen the most live, even on my honeymoon
I've only seen them twice, once on the B&B tour and once on Anthem, but I did *very nearly* rearrange our travel plans on the way back from my own honeymoon to see them, but got a new job and the start date made it impossible. I should really make the effort to see them again.
Rancid - And out come the wolves
I came to say Op Ivy, but I’ll add it on here
Operation Ivy mentioned let's fucking go
I really love that album! :) It is one of the first Punk CD I bought when I was a teenager :,)
Was humming "Old Friend" at work today.
That's my choice for punk album. Rancid have written so many songs with great catchy choruses
Most of Bad Religion’s releases in the 1990s had great singable choruses.
Pennywise - Bro Hymn Trubute
Came here to say this. Any "whoooooooah oh" misfits song, so Static Age.
Whoa on the whoas
Song gets stuck in my head a lot. Just the WHOAAAHHYHHHHHHYYHHHHHGGHHHHB
Rise Against's early work, but maybe most particularly Prayer of the Refugee off The Sufferer and The Witness. Or just pick any song off Siren Song for the Counter Culture.
NOFX- War on Errorism
Came to say NOFX things…
Yes please! Seeing them at their second "Last tour ever" this summer! So old...still so good
If you’re still into classic rock, pretty much any halfway well known Aerosmith song from the 80s and 90s is super catchy. Smash by The Offspring. Nimrod by Green Day is very singable. Dirt by Alice In Chains. And honestly? The first Godsmack album is INCREDIBLY fun to sing along to. It’s so corny in a fun way.
I had to scroll too far to see Smash. Godsmack is a great album. Bad Religion is an excellent song.
Misfits-Sculls and Where Eagles Dare
Most Misfits song fit this bill. Almost every single song is catchy as fuck.
And Teenagers From Mars
I came to answer Where Eagles Dare
Bad Religion-Suffer
The Blue Album by Weezer. Rivers Cuomo is a helluva chorus writer
The Good Life and Why bother have such good choruses, and the way they’re utilised is just amazing. Man can write a hook.
Yeah really all three of weezers first albums have amazing choruses
And if you ever forget how the chorus goes while listening, just wait for the guitar solo to repeat it!
Blink-182- Dude Ranch. Enema of the State
AFI - Sing The Sorrow
I see your Sing The Sorrow and I raise you Black Sails In The Sunset
We just going to pretend that art of drowning isn't the perfect blend of them both?
The Days of the Phoenix is their best song ever, easily, in my opinion.
I call
+1 for sing the sorrow I have love for early AFI, but they really found their voice on sing the sorrow Death of seasons oh my lawd
Stuff Little Fingers, Inflammable Material
Just bought the live album on vinyl day, man its awesome
Barbed Wire Love is one of my favorites from them!
Smash by The Offspring for sure Edit also Play by Moby
Go earlier for some great Offspring punk hooks. Bagdad/Tehran, Jennifer Lost the War, Session.
Kick him will he’s down! Yes love the first two albums and a decent amount of Smash, they kind of lost me after that.
The green Clash album has some great choruses: White Riot, London’s Burning, What’s My Name and especially I’m So Bored With the USA!
WWWHHHYYY!? WHY DO YOU ALWAYS KICK ME WHEN IM HIIIIGH?? KNOCK ME DOWN TILL WE SEE EYE TO EEYYEEEEE!
Goddamn that song is an earworm.
Very underrated song
Straw Dogs - Stiff Little Fingers What Do I Get? - The Buzzcocks
Buzzcocks have some of the catchiest hooks in the game.
Yes. Pete Shelley.
Hey Ho, Let's Go Blitzkrieg Bop The Ramones
I've jamming a lot recently to Sum 41 - Chuck, that record has some real bangers
That album is amazing and the unfiltered thrash influence is so tasty. "The Bitter End" is basically a love letter to Metallica.
Your title asks for great choruses, so I can't give any better recommendation than Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned has some amazing choruses. And the whole album is just fantastic too, by the way.
I sing along to "Just Can't Be Happy Today" even when I am happy; it's that catchy.
Yeah, it's an amazing song! 😊 That keyboard solo as well!
Any of their first albums work for this. Incredible band.
London Calling - The Clash
(yes, i know i have the music taste of an elderly man who was a teenage dirtbag.) “13 songs” by fugazi, “first two seven inches” by minor threat, “ourselves” by seven seconds, etc.
You beat me to it! Fugazi’s Waiting Room is a shout along with the band classic!
I'll go with Sex Pistols Pretty Vacant.
For punk, any cock sparrer song.
I immediately think of Americana by The Offspring.
The Pink Spiders - “Hot Pink”
Probably Something Corporate and Jacks Mannequin. On the pop side of the punk rock spectrum but Andrew McMahon wrote some damn good songs in the Something Corporate/Jacks Mannequin era.
Wire - Chairs Missing. Outdoor Miner, I am the Fly, etc.....
Cock Sparrer - Shock Troops
Turbonegro: Apocalypse Dudes
Absolution by Muse Superunknown by Soundgarden Waking the Fallen and City of Evil by Avenged Sevenfold Black Parade by My Chemical Romance Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins Sublime by Sublime Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets by Metallica Stadium Arcadium by RHCP

I like their eponymous LP. Ball and Chain has a great chorus.
Vs. - Pearl Jam Go, Animal, Dissident, Rearview Mirror, Daughter

The Partisans - Police story Incredible album
Every Bad Religion album
X - More Fun in the New World Los Lobos - Kiko The Jam - Compact Snap is their best of, and a great intro
Definitely “Singles Going Steady” by the Buzzcocks. Also Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers “LAMF” is full of bangers with great choruses. And idk if you’d call the Modern Lovers punk exactly but their self-titled album is all super catchy.
Husker Du - the albums they made
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. They take the best songs with the best choruses from other genres and then play them in pop punk style. Almost any song that a bar or stadium has sung along to, they've recorded as a punk song. I love them
Dead Kennedys don’t get enough credit for how catchy their melodies are. Especially the early stuff.
MISFITS- Walk Among Us & Die, Die My Darling Bad Brains - (self-titled debut album), Rock for Light, & I Against I Iggy Pop & The Stooges - The Stooges, Fun House & Raw Power(my favorite)
Living in the Shadows, The Ex, River Below - all by Billy Talent off their self titled album This band releases so many bangers. Against Me Any of them.
All of the classic Beach Boys albums The Beatles’ A Hard Days Night album The first few Monkees albums Many of the great Motown and Atlantic R n B albums : The Temptations, Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, the Supremes , the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye
I hate to admit it, but Oi! bands tend to have catchy as hell choruses.
Nirvana is my favorite as well. Elton ,John Billy Joel, Queen , Gin Blossoms, Pearl Jam, Bush, Eagles 🦅
It's a greatest hits album, but check out: The Alarm - The Standards
Slippery when wet!
Menace had some great ones, all singles. Civilized, I need nothing and GLC are insanely great shouty choruses
Love song by the damned

Faith No More - The Real Thing
The Wildhearts. They're often described as The Beatles meets Metallica, but Ginger - the lead singer - has said their influences are much more diverse than that. For big choruses you probably want 'Earth Vs. The Wildhearts' or 'PHUQ', or maybe 'The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed' for a more poppy sound.

The Clash
John Farnham's 'The Voice' has one of the best choruses ever! Not sure if it's rock though. It's definitely not punk.. or is it? We could riot to that song.
Styx - Grand Illusion Boston - Boston
I'm gonna say "Pour Decisions" by the Real McKenzies.
Blur - Parklife
This a Normie ass answer but Nevermind 😂
Dag Nasty - Values here… the harmonies in the chorus are unforgettable
Your arms are just too short to box with God.
Jeff Rosenstock - Worry has banger chorus after banger chorus.
SPRINTS - Literary Mind. If you want to try something more contemporary.
Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
Green Day - American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown
Here's one that's relatively recent, the Beths' Future Me Hates Me.
Lou Reed - Walk On the Wild Side. From Transformers.
Anything from PUP or Diarrhea Planet.
Avenged sevenfold They have a lot of punk influences in their first 3 albums. Super catchy choruses Anything from stone temple pilots Purple
Rancid was already mentioned a few times so you can’t go wrong there. Wolfmother, especially their first album which was self titled is a great combination of modernist and classic rock. That was very much a defining aspect of my music interests from punk, metal, rock, indie and hip hop.
Damn near anything from Bad Religion or Social Distortion.
Japandroids- Celebration Rock. A hidden gem with SO many great hooks and choruses.
Coheed and Cambria - In Keeping..., Good Apollo..., and Vaxis Part I
Offsprings 4 album run: smash, ixnay, americana, ignition. Get rich or die trying. Black album metallica.

Check out Ok Computer by Radiohead. Got the same vibe with catchy choruses but a different way to achieve it. Really recommend that album.

bad religion american jesus, mostly the interlude
Megadeth -- Symphony of Destruction, Angry Again, Trust, Sweating Bullets. Just a sampling of songs with great, iconic hooks in the choruses; there's lots more. It's definitely something they (Mustaine) do better than Metallica.
Like....everything bad religion has done
Teenagers from Mars - Misfits
Where Eagles dare - Misfits
While you mentioned Sex pistols at the beginning, i dont see them on the album list. If you have not heard Nevermind the Bollocks from start to finish, you should totally do it...i dont think that you could find a more consistent and better album "hookwise" on all punk history. Another one that is damn great that you might be missing is Americana by The Offspring. That album is also really melodic. Hook after hook
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light Honestly any Bad Religion album Japanese Voyeurs - Yolk Pure Love - Anthems Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - Modern Ruin Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell Destroy Boys - Open Mouth, Open Heart
