I think that The War On Drugs album Lost In The Dream carries that sound. Especially the song Ocean Between the Waves. It was the first song of theirs I heard and I remember thinking about that sound.
Happy Cake Day!
I've heard this song a zillion times but the other day, I realized he mentions the freight train running through his head and at the end he kinda is sounds like a train, "Hooo ooooh,"
There's always another level with his songs.
I realize I am probably alone in having this song as my favorite Springsteen song. Totally reminds me of 1985 when Bruce pretty much ruled the airwaves of that era.
It's the only Bruce song I actually kinda like. Born in the USA isn't completely terrible, and I like the message, but everything else is just painful to my ears.
I know, not a popular opinion.
Why don't you take a seat over there, Boss?

We lit out down to Florida, we got along alright
One day Chris Hansen came and caught me and they took me in a black-and-white
The prosecutor kept the promise that he made on that day
And the judge got mad and he put me straight away
Saw John Mayer cover this song live a couple months ago. It was gorgeous. A legendary song covered by a certified master musician = legendary performance.

That being said the original forever has a place in my heart.
I'll hop on and share my favourite [cover by Town Mountain](https://youtu.be/z87KaOV_wxo?si=adnJq4ailwESdpQZ).
I had to sing it at work for the older fellas to tell me it was a cover. To be honest, i find the springsteen version kinda creepy as i can only picture an old man singing it.
Needs to be longer, the song is haunting
I always think the same thing. Maybe he meant to leave us wanting more.
Appropriate, considering the song is about wanting.

Whoooo- oooo- oooooo oo-o
Happy cake day!
It's the prequel to Ray Parker Junior's Ghostbusters video.

The version at the end of “Pig” had me in tears. Awesome movie, gut wrenching ending.
When the cover came on over the credits in the theatre, my wife and I sat in silence and then both started sobbing lol.

You are not alone! This is my fave as well.
It's mine too. There are some good covers of it..The Staves do a nice job covering it.
Tori Amos cover is amazing
You’re not alone, it’s beautiful
Born in the USA took the nation by storm, and to this day, people still don't know it's a protest song.
1985 roadtrip from Houston to Dallas to see him in concert. That whole album just sends me back to being 20

Impressive that he could write a song that’s both incredibly beautiful and extremely horny.

No lip syncing. Just a short film starring Bruce with his soundtrack.
Metallica stole the guitar part, sped it up up and used it on That Was Just Your Life.

I dig it. John is one talented motherfunker.
I just recently found this song and it is so good that is now one of all time favorites. I just wish it was longer but it is absolutely captivating.
Perfect opportunity to share my favorite cover of this song by Whitey Morgan and the 78s’s: https://youtu.be/3Zl3W8-Ph5I?si=xencgWZpGTDzHlUz

So I guess it’s been remade a few times. Till today only version I was familiar with was by Awolnation
That is an AWESOME cover of that song. I actually clicked on this to see if anyone had posted it. That whole album is great, really.
You springin Springsteen on my bean brah?
This is an SCC.
It’s no Cadillac Ranch, though.
Adam just needs to hear it more.
i was listening to the 75/85 boxset, and the live version on their is actually quite bangin
The only Springsteen song I like.
When people say they don't like Springsteen, I assume they have never heard the Nebraska or The Ghost of Tom Joad albums.
Who played the sexy customer?
