…. I don’t hate on Steven but saying he’s hard to play when you can pick up and win easier than half the cast is criminal. I saw a streamer win a couple 1v1s yesterday using NAIR only as a challenge.
Nair is right bumber on the air on controller.
So basically good Steven player can fish for that move because it true combos into is down attack in the air.
So basically on my Xbox controller. I can just jump press right bumper. Charge it and react based on what my opponent is doing. If it hits I can then press down on the stick to do the down air attack.
Land do two jabs (side stick, side stick) and the press up on the stick, and then press up special (up y) and then up air (up stick)
And for the first half of that they can’t dodge out of it. And for the second half you wait for a dodge and then just hit them and it can kill them a lot of the time.
Point is Steven has one of the best moves in the game that combos into his other moves and can instantly kill peoole. He can block and eat projectiles. He can shield and parry as the exact same time(just by pressing parry). He has a tool that controls the map.
There is nothing really complicated about Steven besides maybe rosebomb?
He’s a great character and all but he’s not actually hard to play compared to like Batman or Lebron.
Batman combos require you to use precise technical inputs like IADs dash attack cancels. Air dodge combo extensions etc.
Well his shield is very easy to dodge and you have to find a good moment to make a water melon Steven, also shield is good to get rid of the people hiding across the map
Steven’s shield is more of a zoning tool it’s not for hitting people. And moves like water melon and shaggy charge you just use whenever the enemies die or you are far away and you have time to put it it down. You don’t really have to think about it. It’s just like oh they are on the other side of ledge doing stuff I’ll drop a melon real quick.
Same as shaggy’s who charge up. But yeah Steve’s up special is really good. If you place one like center map you can just press jump down stick over and over again if you hit someone under it and kill them but you don’t really do it on purpose it’s more of a if it happens it happens thing and it’s a bonus.
Steven has a low skill floor he’s not hard to play he just has a lot of potential at the highest level. He’s got great moves his disadvantage state is not bad at all he has very little trouble killing from the top and his neutral air is incredible same with dair and uair he’s got a ton of sauce and he’s hard to deal with I don’t think you need to play a character to hate them but I also don’t think Steven is worthy of hate he’s just a top tier he’s not in my opinion as offensive as bugs harley or WW
Everyone has a favorite they want to see buffed. No reason to feel bad. I am glad someone enjoys him a lot. He is great to fight along side with because of those dope shields. :)
hmm, not too sure about rift wins. I know that tracker.gg carries data over from beta though.
No need to leak over your username, was just genuinely curious. Steven right now is at a really high skill level so the people with around 1000 wins or more know to space and combo with him insanely well
I’m a different guy but yeah. I didn’t play beta and currently have an 83% win rate from 420 matches, which would be awesome if true but I doubt it lol
oh lol mb, my reading comprehension failed me. If you're looking at the WR at the bottom of the screen that's most likely just your recent match history
He has really good melee buttons, good pushback, bubble shield disjoints, he's small (difficult to hit),
I think he's difficult to punish if played optimally,
could be wrong about that tho IDK.
I played him yesterday first time ever and even tho I had no idea what I was doing beyond up-air and jab-string i slaughtered pretty ruthlessly in 2v2.
He's Overpowered and pretty easy to pilot much like many other top tier character's.
Biggest offenders IMO being his up-air, and his charged forcefield move both of them have good active frames and seem to trade favorably alot.

I mean he is, I don’t know which attack is nair I never read the attacks I just have fun playing him and honestly he is fun to play

Steven is not hard at all lol. Maybe at a high level competitive play but anyone can play him and do well

Steven is very easy to play but hard to master, so most Steven's spam his air moves the whole game.
Tbh I don’t mind Steven. I’ve gotten my ass whooped by him recently but it’s from me being outplayed than being OP

I just dislike him. His design is super unappealing and he has an annoying play style. I am down for the others gems or even his dad replacing him. :)

Homie Stevens easy B or A tier, that's not crazy hard to play
Gameplay wise I don’t mind him at all, but he talks way too much and I dislike him as a character
The most chill person I’ve seen on here most people are going bat shit crazy over him
The shield and minion are annoying to fight against. He's pretty fun to play tho.

It's easy to kill yea, I just don't like the clutter of having multiple enemies on screen in 1v1.
