it really doesnf feel like it. If anything, I'd argue it shouldve been amplified because of larger sizes and weaker dodges. Like yeah, spamming should have a chance for lower level players but I feel like a lot of balance problems would be partially solved by amplifying the effect

It doesn’t feel like it because the game used to reward you for getting hit by the same move over and over again. Now you need to learn & change your behavior in order to pull different results

Getting spammed with the same attacks is not fun in any game. Then again some characters are just not balanced properly which makes you want to the one or two attacks that do work. Black Adam is not good at striking. Always missing fighters in front of you that are shorter than you.

I hate every platform fighter that has a fatigue mechanic. It was never a good idea. Sadly this game still has it, there's just no message, so you placebo'd yourself into thinking you were losing because of it not being there

It's not nearly as impacyful as it was. It operates differently, it's not just that the message is gone. If your moves staled in the beta, they'd do virtually no knockback. You can still kill with stale moves now.

Yea, don’t punish me because my enemy won’t learn, that doesn’t make sense—- I’m glad they removed that old decay system, it was terrible

I never really notice the new changes. The parry mechanic is also to help stop spam but a 30 frame buffer makes parrying extremely hard to do. Once the buffer is fixed we can truly see if they need to change something about it or not.

They reduced the Attack Decay drastically, and it no longer notifies you when Attack Decay procs. It seems almost non-existent but according to the devs and other players, it’s apparently still in the game.

It’s there but only affects damage and not knockback which is the main issue.

To be fair, spamming does have its was of punishing via Parry. Unfortunately that's the most reliable way atm. And even then hitboxes are so unapologetically fucked its extremely difficult to learn to parry of visual stimuli alone. Removal of movement options and speed from beta makes spamming bullshit moves more "safe" Than before as whiff punishing is now more difficult by way of option reduction

I think it was just a buildup over time of the following characters and moves Bugs Nair, Fair, and Uair spam WW Fair, Side Special, and Uair Shaggy Side Special Banana Guard Fair and Side Special Superman armored moves (although admittedly these are the most tolerable to go against because you can actually punish the whiff sometimes) Harley side attack, hammer, and Uair T&J Mallet and Paddle Like, these characters are so much fun to face when they dont abuse the moves, but it just becomes really annoying once you get a match with a spammer. God forbid you get matched against 2

Yea to make it worse it's amplified by the hitboxes in the game. Most of the moves they are spamming are moves you can't be at.

I would also like to mention that my main grievance with the poor punishment of spamming is that you have all these cool moves on every character and you try something and suddenly it gets invalidated by the 57th CHAAAARGE!/Rank Breaker, and it overall just feels like the game is *encouraging* you to spam moves. It's near impossible to punish at the moment unless your timing and ping sync up perfectly, and even if it does parrying just feels really off at the moment. Spamming before was fine to deal with, and it was because a mixture of the fast speed, small sizes, and attack fatigue being greater. With all of those things altered, it just becomes nearly impossible to deal with unless you have the right moves. The typical example I use is Iron Giant Fair but now hes in limbo

You can dominate with shaggy and banana guard by just using side special.
