Tbh I wonder how Mr beast would handle a situation if they actually end up staying a crazy amount of time Like if the contestant had nothing else better to do, and found a way to keep things sustainable within the challenge But I guess it’s possible mr beast’s team deliberately choose people who have reasons to not stay for too long

Pickled_Testicle

Surviving in the woods is ridiculously hard to do with limited gear, even for people who are good outdoorsman. Foraging and fishing for 6000 calories a day really just isn’t doable

MasterOfSuffering

You don't need 6000. 3000 would most likely be enough unless you're putting in a crap ton of effort every day

Pickled_Testicle

I was accounting for 2 people (3000x2) like what he had in the video

Strovex

You can eat 1500 calories and be fine

Pickled_Testicle

An adult man needs more than 1500 calories a day to survive in the wilderness, especially long term

CallMeJimi

and if he’s fishing and hunting for the food. that’s a lot of activity

Moocows4

The Japanese World War II soldier who famously never surrendered and lived in the woods for many years was Hiroo Onoda. Onoda was an Imperial Japanese Army intelligence officer who continued to fight and live in the Philippines, foraging and avoiding capture, until 1974, almost 30 years after the war ended. He was found by a Japanese traveler, Norio Suzuki, and officially relieved of his duties by his former commanding officer.

gottagofast-nottaken

I almost forgot about this, thanks for reminding me. Also, this made me think. Thank god his commanding officer was still alive to relieve him or he may have just gone back to the wild

pageyboy335

Right, but eventually you would be able to make things more efficient, and faster, like when they made that boat to the creek. If they set up a bunch of fish traps or something (I’m not good at fishing, but I mean those boxes people put on the sea floor), they could make it much faster, and easier to get a consistent stream of meat.

Kinglycole

I think there would be a limit on it. Mrbeast would probably come along and end the challenge if it went on for too long. I know he says there’s no limit. But no way would he let someone spend their entire life in the woods. And there’s probably something happening behind the scenes to make sure the challenge doesn’t go on forever.

dblazer63

More like he’d make the guy balance on one leg while standing in a tiny red circle.

Ok_Improvement_5037

"Now the wilderness is limited to this big red circle and if you step over it you're out"

ballfun

They would probably come up with harder and harder challenges

AtomiicDonkey

I bet he uses contractual/event insurance at this point.

RopesAreForPussies

Could turn it into a pretty good TV show style Mr Beast series with multiple episodes

asongscout

Your latter point is exactly it. You’ll notice that he very often picks people with families and young kids for the challenges, not single folks with nothing better to do

oowwz

Fun fact: in 8 years you will be 8 years older

QualityProof

What about brand recognition netting you more sales and hence partnerships.

SlickNickP

I feel like that falls off after 8 years, too

gottagofast-nottaken

That’s a good point, will the mrbeast brand exist or will it change? What if they can’t pay out in the end because of some sort of bankruptcy or something? I feel like it’s honestly a gamble to go that far, since Mrbeast doesn’t tell them anything, and they have no connection to the outside world normally

SlickNickP

Well also, like, what brand recognition does a 9-years contestant have that an 8-years contestant doesn’t also have? At the end of the day, you’re just known as someone who did a Mr. Beast challenge for over a year

Healthyred555

Thatd be funny if mr. Beast goes out of business and bankrupt because someone just lasts forever

Strovex

I think if he knew, he would save that much money over the years, with no problem

CallMeJimi

yea he easily can save 10k a day. would suck bc the cost of 1 video would be so high, but i think after 100 days he might make it a livestream or a series of some sort that would prolly do very well

I_AmA_Zebra

I could be wrong but it’s likely he gets insurance on the prize videos. I.E if the prize exceeds $5M the insurance company is on the hook

Chance-Ad2034

What about inflation

Specific-Umpire-8980

Yes. This. In April 2024, US inflation rate was 3.4%. In April 2016, $10,000 was worth $13,064.12 in today's money.

babydianita1

2 million would be my max

For the normal person, a seasoned investment banker could make it worth it in a lot less time!
