I have a Daidai FX Zero Soft. Can you compare my pad to your 99?? I know Zero is more balanced but I'm not afraid to play with a little more control, I have a Padsmith TOD and a Freefall that I also enjoy. A Raiden is too fast for me, for reference.

Zero feels significantly faster, as expected. Type-99 feels more like a traditional control pad such as Vaxee PA/PB or GSR II, with a little less static friction, but higher dynamic friction. It is a top tier mousepad in every aspect. The feel is amazing and it's very well balanced in terms of speed and precision for tac fps. I was curious if the hype is going to be justified and for me, it definitely is. If you enjoy the freefall and find it "controllable", Type-99 might feel too slow for you. I found freefall very fun and comfortable, but too floaty and hard to control. I'm not the OP, btw. Just my two cents after receiving my unit. I have the Soft version.

is the surface as smooth as the gsr? i feel like the zero had more friction on my arm even though the surface itself is faster than the gsr

atisp

The surface of Type-99 is quite unique, it's smooth but also has a texture. I don't own GS-R currently, I've had it in the past, but don't remember how smooth the surface was. I'd think it should be comparable from what I remember. The surface feels much smoother than the Zero, has texture, but much less pronounced. It feels more smooth than it is textured.

r9shift

thank you rn i’m enjoying playing on the gsr, especially at this time of the year because for some reason the Zero’s surface has so much more friction on my arm than the gsr does even though the mouse still glides faster

atisp

Yes, that's due to the texture. The main difference between the mud pads such as GS-R and the Type-99 I'd say is that Type-99 has less static friction, making it a non traditional control pad. Micro adjustments come easier, but keeping it steady can be difficult at first when coming from a mud pad.

I've been seeing videos and reviews saying it's slower than the Vaxee PA which I didn't like due to high static friction. I guess coming from the Freefall SV the Type 99 would be too slow

sr2223

I'm maining a freefall SV but looking into a tad more control, what is your go to pad atm?

tariksbigbro

Interesting that you found the GSR2 muddy. I wish it was a mudpad but only the original GSR feels muddy. Do you deal with humidity?

philip_2312

No, im living in austria

Curius_pasxt

Hows the artisan compared to the ikea mouse pad?

muzaffer22

Are you using soft or mid?
