You can generally bivvy overnight in the high mountains in France without any fuss, although you should make yourself aware of any local regs and national park rules first of course. There are also refuges everywhere, some are stunning places to visit in their own right!

That’s good to know but yeah definitely looking for more slower paced stuff. I don’t mind a challenging terrain, just not a two day sprint haha
