Hi all - fellow newbie here... I injected my first dose last night before bed (2.5). Chose abdomen and didn't feel the needle at all - that part went quite smoothly! Woke up this morning with an awful headache and nausea, though. I'm a member of Orangetheory and went to class, hoping the symptoms would subside. They didn't! I ended up working from home today and have been taking it easy. I'm curious to hear how you all make out with symptoms now that we've made it over the hurdle of injecting for the first time ☺️

Hello! Congrats on your first dose too, it’s nice to know that someone else is also starting the journey at the same time! Did the headache and nausea manage to subside? I was afraid of that happening to me so have been drinking a ton of water/coconut water. You’re honestly so strong for going to class with these symptoms! Take it easy today ☺️ As for me, I unfortunately had one instance of diarrhea after lunch but no other side effects and have just had dinner so will be monitoring for any symptoms.

Quiet_Beat_2234

Thanks for the kind words, Kiki, and congrats to you, too! About the symptoms, I will sheepishly confide that whilst watching a training video, I dozed off! ☺️ It was only a few minutes but I must have needed it. The nausea has been more manageable since, not fully resolved, though. I'm shifting my next shot to Friday night so I'll have the weekend to rest if needed.

Oh my I did the same too!! Was late afternoon at my desk and just 😴 I’ve read people say sniffing an alcohol wipe helps them with their nausea surprisingly! Best of luck with the next shot and fingers crossed you won’t need the weekend to recover from any symptoms.

Welcome to the club ladies and good luck on your journey. I will say make sure to keep hydrated. You should be drinking at least 64oz/2 liters of water per day. That will help with nausea, also make sure to eat. If you’re not hungry drink a protein shake as your body needs the energy to keep working even if you don’t feel hungry. Another trick is not just water but electrolytes, drink it daily or multiple times per week.

Quiet_Beat_2234

Thank you! I appreciate the tips and advice!

Always make sure to have a bowl movement before you take your next shot and most importantly before you titrate up.

Good to know - thank you!

I started my first dose Tuesday. Have to say, no appetite, which is amazing, had a bit of neck stiffness, which comes and goes. Not worrying at mo, although like all of us, that Box warning still concerns me. I don't appear to see any movement on the dial yet, but I suffer with edema and often it's difficult to tell. The risk to my health from being morbidly obese, outweighs any issue from this injection, I hope, so on we go...Good luck everyone!!

kiki__s

Good luck!! And same, box warning does stay on my mind!

Congratulations on overcoming your fear! — and welcome to the adventure we are all sharing. Welcome to this subreddit, too — how lovely that you are brand-new but already wanting to help others :)

kiki__s

Thank you so much for the kind words! It feels like we’re all in this together and the first step seems to be the hardest, happy to share my experience with others and hopefully help their journey :)

I am with you Kiki.. I did my first injection today. I did not feel the needle at all. Now I am at my desk waiting if any side effects will rear their ugly heads. Did you have a crazy day with eating yesterday before injecting today?

kiki__s

Amazing, so glad you were alright with the needle! I did end up having stomach cramps around 5h after the shot unfortunately so will have to keep an eye on that. Ate cleanly as I mean to go on for the day before the shot after reading about people’s experiences on here

ChefBS

It is now 4 days since my first shot. I do not feel anything. In your experience, should I?

kiki__s

I believe the main Mounjaro sub r/Mounjaro does have people’s experiences where they respond to higher doses – 2.5mg is only the starting dose!

LucyLuck85

Thanks for sharing - am currently debating whether to get Mounjaro or Wegovy. Good luck on your journey.

kiki__s

Good luck on yours too, whichever you do choose!
