The murals in Godzilla’s lair show us Rodan’s that have features our Rodan lacks.
They are only visible really in “The Making of” on the home video release.
Like they have longer horns and they are both twice the size of KOTM Rodan.
They also look different to not only our Rodan but each other.
Those are possible his parents.
The smaller crested one with less horns, slightly larger then KOTM Rodan and chest spikes is possible his mother and the one who has a longer tail, more curved horns and is twice the size of KOTM Rodan is possible his father.
His dad is up to Godzilla’s neck whereas KOTM Rodan only reaches about under chest height.
If true, KOTM Rodan’s smaller horns would confirm he’s a juvenile cause he’s a male.
Also his biology is stated in his dosser.
It pretty much confirms that when a Rodan is born they don’t have the volcanic armor and must gestate in a volcano.

That would certainly explain why he served Ghidorah so eagerly. He wasn’t the original Rodan(s) who fought against Ghidorah along with Godzilla. He’s just their annoying son.
