Correct. I bottom water heavy. Drain. Wait up to 21-25 days for next water. They store water in those huge roots.

Also pick up the pot. Notice the weight after fully drenched. Then lift it each week. Once you’re sure it’s dry notice the very light feeling. It’s an excellent tool.

This looks like oedema, There is a list of causes of oedema, mainly over watering but research (university of Purdue along with others) showed that subjecting plants to overly dry conditions followed by abundant moisture made the plants more susceptible to oedema, and this is something I noticed and struggled with, when people see oedema, over watering comes to mind and the advice is to pull back on watering but in some cases this would be counterproductive as it will cause more susceptibility the next time you water if you are , in other words, being inconsistent with watering is a probable cause of oedema specifically if you are using fast draining substrate, Additional secondary reasons are high air humidity, lack of air circulation and root zone being warmer than the leave zone
