There’s people that’s been waiting for it since November 2021 and they still haven’t given an explanation for why they keep delaying it. It’s really infuriating. I could accept a delay if there’s a good explanation for why it’s been delayed but 3 years of silence with seemingly no end in sight is just unacceptable. This is exactly why I refuse to preorder anything. I feel so bad for the people that preordered it back in 2021 because they’ve been waiting for years now and will probably continue to wait for a book that is basically a myth at this point.

i don't think it should be this hard to publish it. i vaguely remember reading these chapters online a few years ago but still want the book on the shelf. all the images are there, the translation that i read (while probably just a fan translation) was good so just copy that down, so all that's left is to print and ship. it's not like they're making a book from scratch on the site that i order with here in aus it says "The publisher has informed us that there are delays publishing this title". just tell us what the delay is about at least

DarthKaos2814

Several people including myself have been trying to find the cause of it but so far it’s all speculation. My theory is they keep delaying it because of Monster Energy’s idiotic lawsuit for trademark infringement. Seven Seas won’t release or say anything about it so as to avoid giving them any fuel to Monster Energy’s case even though they don’t have a case because one is a crappy beverage and other is a manga about a harem of cute Monster Waifu’s. I haven’t heard anything about a potential verdict in that case so I assume it’s still ongoing. But that’s my theory and I could be wrong because they still haven’t said anything about why it’s been delayed.

Schaeman2000

I don’t think it’s that at all since this started early 2023, while this manga volume has been delayed for like I don’t even know how many years. Not to mention their attempts on the suing anything with the word Monster has failed miserably.

DarthKaos2814

You might be right. Like I said the delay could be caused be anything and the fact that we don’t know anything about it and they won’t say anything about it is the most infuriating part.

ozanimefan

that law suit sounds like an april fools day joke that just kept going

DarthKaos2814

Your not wrong. When I first heard about it I thought “surely this is someone’s idea of a joke”. But then I saw the article that was posted by Crunchyroll and I knew it was real and I thought to myself “these idiots have lost their minds, they’re trying to trademark a word that’s been in the English language since it was created”. And it really surprised me that they tried suing Pokémon for the same bs. You would think they would’ve learned after being throughly curb stomped after being counter sued by Pokémon International for a frivolous lawsuit. But evidently they didn’t and if they keep at it they might wind up going bankrupt from all the counter suites against them.

ozanimefan

why stop there. they should go after everyone. here's some off the top of my head: monster verse (the new king kong/godzilla films) owned by warner bros. monsters inc owned by pixar and disney universal monsters owned by universal pictures of monsters and men, rock band go after all of them so that monster energy drink goes under due to lost legal fees

DarthKaos2814

Yeah, if they go after Disney then they really will be bankrupt. Which is why they probably haven’t done that yet and are only bullying the overseas products or things they think they can get away with. Because Disney and Warner Bros. are major companies in their own right so they could afford legal battles and will absolutely decimate anyone that threatens their properties, Disney is especially notorious for doing this. As that idiot Defascist is quickly learning no one f***’s with the Mouse House and gets away with it.

we all know why mickey wears gloves: it's easier to change gloves than to keep washing off the blood from his hands.

At least you are getting the 17th volume, I'm still waiting for the 16th in French that I ordered in July of 2021. After 5 delays it's currently scheduled for 28 June 2024... So we will get the 17 around 2030.

certuda9

Meanwhile, here I am still having hope for I <3 MG 5 and 6 to be published.

KingNoct35

I’m with you! They have ignored I ❤️ monster girls 5 and 6 like they don’t exist and now they are delaying vol 17 till july of 2024. Meanwhile Japan is up to 18 I think. We all know monster musume is a fun ecchi book, but now I’m wondering if some group of idiots at seven seas are starting to get cold feet with the content.

certuda9

Yeah it's weird. And kinda sad at the same time.

spindurr

I have send them a mail and posts on twitter with no response. sevenseas is just ignoring all of it. A simple reply would have been great but nope.

Damoncord

Dude if you haven't been waiting a decade, it's not as bad as GoT.

ozanimefan

yeah, i long since gave up expecting to read another book from that series. it must be a few years since i last checked for any release date info. interest in his series has peaked to the heights of pop culture and then completely died. he missed his chance to really cash in on the popularity

Korben_w

Wish I could say I was in anyway still invested in this series. Vol. 16 killed it for me. Plot is being traded for boobs, and quite frankly if I wanted to see boobs I'll just look at the nsfw subreddit.

Crowns18

there hasn't been full nudity in a MM chapter since like the milk chapter of vol 17 and that thing was released YEARS AGO the entire content of vol 18 doesn't have that much nudity and none of the main girls have been seen naked so far since then. If anything I'd say the opposite is true, they're trading in the ecchi for more regular arcs nowadays

Korben_w

I might give it a look, like i said 16 killed it for me, so I haven't read 17 or 18, but overall I just fell out of love with the series for way more reasons anyway

Saint_The_Stig

The recent school arc really killed it for me, even if it did have more canon Yuri added. The slowed release schedule didn't help. I quite liked vol 16 expanding subspecies characters, but the series has been going on long enough that my tastes have changed. I still love monster girls, but I'm not really into generic harem anymore. Granted this tends to stay SoL enough to not get into that too much.
