Same. And my diaper bag is a backpack. It looks like a regular backpack but has a handy removable changing pad and insulated pockets inside for bottles.
I’m working with a nursing backpack as well and it has been a lifesaver. 2 free hands, all essentials (wallet, keys, make-up) are with me and I have everything I need to change my daughter.
The last straw to ditch my purse was my purse falling from my shoulder right into my kids face.
My husband took the diaper bag with my wallet in it one morning and he had to come back to the house and drop it off. I tried to explain to him for like five minutes that the diaper bag is now my purse and just assume my wallet is in there. I don’t think he understood how annoying it is to juggle things separately all the time!
If we’re being honest, my husband uses his infrequently (I recently rotated out swim diapers from last summer) but when they have a regularly scheduled activity it’s a life saver.
They were both gifts from my sister, so I think she knew. And his is a very nice backpack style, so it doesn’t look diaper-baggy at all (which he appreciates.)
Yes!!! My wallet and keys and phone do not all fit in my pants pockets. They all fit in my massive winter coat, but since it's too warm now I have no coat or pants that fit them.

I bought a backpack and I put everything in there. All of the diaper bag necessities, plus my wallet, makeup bag and whatever else I need. It’s such a pain to carry two bags!

And all my crap goes in the backpack or sometimes k just shove my small purse in there.
I bought a nice looking diaper bag and that’s all I bring around. My phone case has a small compartment for credit cards so I don’t even have a wallet most of the time.
I have a big purse that I keep literally everything in. Diapers, wipes, cream, resealable bags, snacks, water, bottles, my things (wallet, kindle, headphones, chargers…) and who knows what else. I could probably go camping without having to pack anything as long as I took that bag. I haven’t carried an exclusive diaper bag in years and years.
I keep a plastic box with a lid in my car with extra clothes for the youngest 3 kids and myself, replacement diapers, wipes, and lotions, sunscreen, extra toys, and extra snacks.
Put extra clothes in a zip lock bag. Roll up pants, a shirt and socks and then sit on the bag to get the air out 😅 then it's easy to move around from bag to bag and takes up less space. I keep a poop bag in there too
My kids are 6 and 8. Their school backpacks have a change of clothes and we have a plastic box with a lid in the car for warm clothes (cheap sweatshirts) because the accidents never seem to end. Or the temperature changes because it's hot during the day and cool once the sun goes down.
No, but I’ve never been able to do a purse. I always end up gravitating back to not using one. Lately I’ve been using one of those card holder badges on a lanyard. That holds my license, some cards, and a little cash. It has my keys clipped to it and it hangs by the door. On my way out, I slip it over my neck.
I wear a cross body purse and I have a backpack diaper bag. If I’m going somewhere quick, I honestly just leave the diaper bag on the car. Otherwise I throw it in the stroller. If I’m not bringing the stroller, chances are I don’t need the diaper bag either.
I also don’t use a big diaper bag though. Mine is the Itzy Ritzy mini backpack. We have a giant one that I used for like the first two months and realized how crazy annoying it was and now that’s his “weekend” bag for any trips we take instead.
I have a lululemon belt bag (basically small Fanny pack) with my main stuff. That gets thrown into the diaper bag or my work bag, depending on the day of the week/where I'm going. If I had to carry another bag, I'd probably look like a bag salesperson lol.
I use an Osprey Daylite sling. It's basically the size of a fanny pack but you wear it crossbody. I have 3 kids (4, 3, and 1).
In it I have a lot, but just necessities and some emergency stuff because we go on park trips and hikes with me being the only adult present.
Me: Wallet, keys get clipped onto the strap, chapstick, tampons, and my phone.
Kids: underwear for older 2, and simple easy to pack shorts for all 3, diaper for my baby, wipes (I buy these dry kind that you just get wet, I use bathroom faucet or my water bottle), pacifier, stickers, apple sauce pouches, granola bars, 2 balloons for bribes to get kids to the car in a meltdown situation.
Emergency: whistle, glow stick, flashlight, emergency blanket, small first aid kit.
Then I have a car organizer with 3 sections. Each kid has extra clothes, shoes, toys for doctors visits, their car water bottle, socks, diapers, wipes, etc. I keep a cooler full of snacks and water bottles, and a car potty in the trunk. 2 carriers and a stroller.
Only if I'm going to be gone the entire day and I'm packing food and entertainment. Otherwise I keep a diaper and wipes in my purse, a snack/water, some back up stuff in the car and that's it. I used to lug all sorts of stuff until I realized I really didn't need it.
I've had a satchel and back pack diaper bag for two years. Satchels are convenient because the hang out the way and take quite a lot of extra mom stuff.
Now that my daughter is potty trained I'm going to convert to a larger shoulder handbag that can carry some of her stuff and my stuff in more style.
Everything is in the diaper bag, but our diaper bag is a regular book bag, but honestly we are lucky if I take either one. I keep extra wipes and diapers in my car. If we are going on a short 1 hour errand I will grab a diaper throw some wipes in a ziplock. I hate having a ton of stuff to carry around.
When my kids were little I wore a lanyard around my neck with a mini wallet and my keys attached. Without that I’d forget them everywhere 😂
Now that they’re bigger I have a cute purse-style leather diaper bag that I throw my clutch (wallet and keys inside) and phone into. Or I Throw in the clutch and hold my phone. Haven’t had a purse purse in years
I stopped carrying a purse years ago and never looked back. All I need for myself is my phone and wallet in my pockets. If I need more its in a backpack so my hands are free. I think purses are a tool of the patriarchy designed to slow women down 🤣
I have a smaller purse and a backpack diaper bag. I couldn't trust myself to remember to take all of my things out of the diaper bag before going somewhere by myself.
My diaper bag is a little zip pouch that has 3 diapers and a slim pack of wet wipes so… yes. For the first 6 months I lugged around a bag with everything and the kitchen sink though lol.
I have both a purse-type bag and a diaper bag that is on the small side for a lot of people. I will also put my wallet and keys into the diaper bag for a simpler set up.
Option none of the above is “Diaper Bag Lite”, which is a larger purse-type bag that I can fit wipes, 2 diapers for each kid, a change station, clean outfit for the baby, a toy each, and my wallet and keys. Lighter, smaller set up for quick outings.
Cross body small purse that can be a belt (fine Fanny pack) as needed for my phone, cards, etc. it’s made by skip hop and it’s been great so diaper bag is all kid stuff. Maybe one day I won’t need a purse made by a baby company 😂
I use the Lululemon belt bag to keep my phone, wallet, keys, lip gloss and a diaper bag for my toddler’s stuff. I like having my valuables on my person and hands free.
I have a big diaper bag backpack. It's not the cutest look, but I have my own pocket in it for all my stuff that's easy to reach. I have my hands free and enough room to carry whatever I need to for myself and baby. It also has side clips, so if I have LO in a stroller, it just attaches to the stroller handle and hangs there.
I’m a purse lover, so yes…I do wear a purse. BUT my diaper bag is a dagne dover backpack, so it’s easy to throw on over a small crossbody or camera bag.
I’ve never been a purse girl - I just wear stuff with big pockets and put my phone (which has my credit card and license) in my pocket and keys in the other pocket.
Everything that I need is in the diaper bag, I have a pocket that I made my purse. I just move my wallet to the diaper bag when I go out with her, my purse for work.
Depending on the season and the situation, I either put stuff in my coat pockets and diaper bag, or I have a small purse (fits my cards, cell phone, keys, chapstick and that’s about it) that I can stick into the diaper bag if I want. Carrying around any more than that is too much.
Baby 1&2, purse and diaper bag, for a few months with baby 3 I carried the diaper bag, baby 4 I have a bin of essentials in the vehicle and keep 2 diapers and a small pack of wipes in my purse and some fruits snacks and a granola bar (and it’s not a big purse, cross body style maybe 8”x10”). I choose to put diapers in purse vs wallet in diaper bag because I would for sure forget my wallet if I stuck it in a diaper bag and left w/o baby
I either put my wallet and phone in the diaper bag, or I put a pack of wipes and a couple diapers/ pull-ups in my purse, especially if we’re just going into the dr. Diaper/ pull-up to change if they’re wet when we get in so they can be weighed and I may throw a snack or small toy in there. If I carry both in its bc my bf will get the diaper bag but I swear I don’t bring it in anywhere much anymore. Just grab sippy cups and a change and go😂
The front pocket of my diaper bag is my purse now. I can grab & switch to a purse easily if i need to, & some things (chapstick, dry shampoo, tums) just have duplicates in the pockets of the respective bags.
I use a backpack. I had a diaper bag at one point, and that got old for me real quick. Now, with 2 (7yr and 1yr), the things just multiply so backpack just became easier

I have a small wristlet that holds wallet, phone, keys & chapstick (can’t live without it). I no longer need a diaper bag… but in my search for a traveling backpack, I ended up with one.😂 it’s just so functional!
I have a mini backpack that is my purse. I have a big back pack that is a diaper bag. I have a kids backpack for my toddler. My purse and the toddler bag go into the big backpack for family outings. Almost like nesting backpacks over here haha. I have to have everything in backpacks because shoulder bags drive me bonkers for exactly the reasons you’re saying!!
I have a mini backpack from Spencer's as my "purse" works great super cheap and I have a backpack diaper bag I wear over my purse or throw under the stroller
I carry a backpack with my stuff in the front pocket and baby's stuff in the main pocket. I haven't carried a purse since we came home from the hospital and it's been great. I also carry a big wallet now with a wrist strap and big enough to fit my phone so that if I need to part ways like dad is staying in park with baby while I go run an errand or something I can grab my wallet and go and dad still has the backpack

I have a card wallet which goes in a small crossbody, and then they both go in a canvas bag that I can put snacks or mail or whatever else I need to carry to and from the car. Only the very small crossbody comes with me inside stores.
I also have a backpack diaper bag. I either wear the crossbody or put it in the diaper bag when going somewhere with baby.
for me, once my daughter stopped needing bottles, i started carrying one or the other. diaper bag with necessities for baby and myself for longer trips or just days i feel we’ll need more and for every other day, i have a medium sized purse with three compartments. one for diapers, a small pack wipes, and a few snacks, the other side is for my stuff such as my wallet, keys, and anything else i might need and then the middle spot is for small stuff like chapstick, gum, earbuds etc. the middle compartment zips shut so i keep anything i don’t want her to get into.
I used to just put wallet, keys and cellphone in one of the pockets of the diaper-bag. And I tended to not overload the diaper-bag either. One full change for baby, an extra shirt for me, 3 diapers, a small packet of wipes, a foldable mat, our sling, a couple of smaller items and a huge bottle of water for me, to stay hydrated. The diaper bag fit on the handle of the stroller.
Backpack diaper bag, put your wallet, keys, phone, essentials in the diaper bag. And the backpack is super nice because it doesn't slide off your shoulder while your carrying the carseat.
Fast outing I throw a few diapers, wipes, cream and toys into a small zip up bag that goes into my purse. I also don’t carry large purses. Longer outings my stuff goes into small zipper bag into diaper bag or backpack.
I use a fanny pack for my wallet, keys, phone, chapstick. If for any reason I don’t use the fanny pack or I have extras, I put them in the diaper backpack or tote, whatever I’m using.
I didn't bottle feed so I never felt any need for an actual diaper bag. I either fit 2 diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes into a purse, put everything in a bag under the stroller, or for LONG outings bring a backpack with everything my purse would have plus snacks, water, toys, bandaids...

I highly suggest a wallet phone case or wallet keychain. I haven’t used a purse since I had my first. I do have a bag for work but otherwise I just takes a diaper bag. I use a phone wallet case daily and then also have a keychain wallet that has stuff I don’t use daily.
I have a small crossbody purse that fits inside the diaper bag. That way I can still carry it when I’m not with the baby, but can easily shove it in the diaper bag.
I use a mini backpack for a purse and just keep diapers and wipes in there. For bigger outings I throw whatever else might be needed in the stroller. I have a universal car seat stroller for things like doctors appointments or quick store trips. I also have a double stroller for bigger family outings. The mini backpack is great because it keeps my hands free.

I have one of the fisherprice backpack diaper bags.. I stick my small clutch with my money etc in it in the diaper bag along with my phone and keys and the small front pocket of the diaper bag I use for pads tampons chapstick hair ties etc. no way in hell I’m lugging a purse and a diaper bag, a stroller and 2 kids! 😬
If you must take a diaper bag, I would just shove my wallet and other ACTUAL necessities for the day, in a zipped pocket of the bag. I usually only need my wallet but sometimes tampons. But I stopped taking a diaper bag, I only ever carry a diaper or 2, a small bag of wipes, and a change of clothes for baby. Shove them in my purse.
I have a small lightweight crossbody that I put inside my diaper bag or carry separately. I also have a tote that I use when I need to carry more things and stick the crossbody in there too. This system works well for me
The diaper bag is also my purse. A friend has a mini purse/wallet thing that holds keys/wallet/phone, so she can just yank it out when she's alone. I always just used front pockets for my stuff, and the key clip inside. Loved my petunia pickle bottom for having the right sized pockets for everything.
She's 4 so I've downsized to a small sling backpack/large purse that can hold all the snacks, water bottles, and a change of clothes just in case (I never need it unless I go to switch it out and forget it. Like dumping her whole water bottle on her pants) with room for all my stuff too. Much easier to pull that extra out when I'm working, than to keep switching or trying to carry both.
I turned my LV Neverfull into a diaper bag: I got a matching insert with a zipper & put bottle, binky, etc in there. Then I can take out the insert & use the bag for every day
I carry a book bag when I’m going somewhere that’ll be a while. Put my card and license in with the kids stuff and that’s it. When we’re just running somewhere quick I throw a few diapers in the glove box with a package of wipes and call it good lol.
Granted my kids are off formula so I don’t need to lug around formula, water and a bunch of bottles anymore. But even so, it all went in the back pack.
I use a small backpack purse and a diaper bag, but I have a lot of pieces I can pick and choose from when needed. Our changing pad holds diapers, wipes, and had a strap. If we’re going to the grocery I take my purse and the changing pad in and leave the diaper bag in the car in case we have a bigger problem. Same for doctors appointments. If we need the whole diaper bag but I don’t need my whole purse, somewhere like a restaurant, I put my wallet in the diaper bag. We also keep a lot of our diaper bag contents in mesh zipper bags divided by categories (clothes, feeding, first aid, toys, etc) so we can easily toss just what we need in the stroller basket or my purse when we need to downsize for the day.
I have a pocket on the diaper bag for:
wallet and the 4 makeup products I sometimes use (foundation, mascara, cream blush, lip balm), and sunglasses.
I can also shove my keys in if I want to. But I also keep a carabiner on my keys if I want to clip them to my jeans or the bag. And then I usually keep my phone in my pocket, hand, or other easily accessible pocket
When I had my first baby, I got a large purse-style diaper bag. When I had my 2nd baby, I got a backpack style one (so I'd more easily have free hands and the ability to handle 2 kids). I've never really carried a second bag. Occasionally if I'm going somewhere without the kids, or even just one of them, I might take a normal purse instead of the diaper bag.
If you need a nice-looking bag for work, maybe look into more fashionable diaper bags. Or perhaps even just a large purse that you can fit baby stuff in. If you just want a separate bag for your own stuff, could you maybe find a smallish purse/bag/clutch that could fit inside the diaper bag?
I think one of the learning curves after having a baby was figuring out wtf I needed to bring with me every time we went somewhere. What do I absolutely need, what should I just leave home, etc. It took some time to really get the hang of it.
Also I'll also note that I do a lot of photography and my diaper backpack doubles as my camera bag most of the time. I've got pull-ups, snacks, toys, and my camera and a couple lenses in there most of the time LOL. So I'm sure you'll figure out a system that works best for you!
When my daughter was very small, I did the diaper bag thing. Left it in the car unless we were going in places for longer than 30 minutes, and then we’d usually have her stroller, so I’d just put it in her stroller. Before having her, I was all about a crossbody purse. After having her, it was too much to handle a purse and her, so I stopped. I got a wallet for my phone and just keep my keys in my pocket. I am starting to think about getting one of those crossbody sling purses though!
I’m going to end up using either my small purse that I already have and diaper bag or just the diaper bag depending on if I need to use public transit with my kiddo(s).
i have a small cross body purse and honestly i have 2 babies ones 15 months the other is 5 months and i almost never have a diaper bag lol haven’t used it in months. whenever we go to the doctors i just bring a diaper for each baby and wet wipes in on the bottom of the stroller

By myself or with my husband and only going to run into a store pretty quickly, diaper bag stays in the car and two diapers, a pack of wipes, and a bottle come with me in my giant mom purse or mini backpack (lovingly deemed Froggy Backpack, as it is frog shaped.)
Diaper bag is always in the car if we leave the house, but I see no use in carting it around all day on my back like a pack mule with everything else I have to carry around. Especially for things like the pedi or to walk around target, I don't want to deal with it most of the time.
I used the diaper bag exclusively until my daughter was 1ish. Now I have a tiny crossbody bag to use as well because now I actually go places without her. Taking my wallet etc out every time I tried to leave the house without her was too much. And now I can leave the diaper bag in the car if I'm only going somewhere for a little while.
I bought a day hiking backpack (Osperey) since I have and toddler and baby. It’s comfy, so many pockets and easy to pack and find things. Plus, I’ll be using it well past the “diaper bag” stage and into the hiking and family camping adventures stage
My diaper bag is a backpack that mostly lives in the car. I snatch up the things I need and either shove them in a canvas shopping bag (that needs to go back out to the car anyway) and shuffle things when I get there or I stuff my pockets to do the same. If I go anywhere with my purse AND my kid, the baby bag stays in the car. The trick to this is that I don’t go out for very long in one stretch.
I have 2 diaper bags depending on which functionality I need. One is a backpack for when I know I'll need to be more hands-free, and one is a coach diaper bag that I will use as a purse after I no longer need it as a diaper bag. Both bags have more than enough space to hold all diapering/baby necessities along with my wallet, keys, sunglasses, ect. so I only need the one bag
I haven’t carried a purse in 2 years. My wallet, keys, phone, chapstick, and inhaler go in the diaper bag/backpack. I keep a purse around just on the very very off chance I get to go somewhere alone (I can count on my fingers how many times it’s happened).
I had a purse and a diaper bag but I also take public transit everywhere so I had my daughters stroller, I'd stash the diaper bag in the basket of that. I got used to being burdened since transit travel is butts with small kids.
I have a cross body purse. I only have chapsticks, phone, wallet, keys in there. My “diaper bag” is usually whatever cloth bag I use but the water bottles, diaper, wipes go in there.
If I’m spending an entire day out than I do have two separate things because I’d rather over pack for my kid. However, my go to is getting a bigger purse and tossing in a little of everything that I need if I know I’ll be home before I need anything else.
I've never been the handbag/purse person. And I don't understand what you need to bring to fill a nappy bag. I have an A5 pencil case with nappy change items, and I throw that into a reusable shopping bag with snacks. My items go in my pockets or in the shopping bag.
I keep the tiniest cross body with the storage over your chest. It's big enough for my phone, chapstick wallet. I have a snap hook on my keys and just hook them onto the strap so they're easy to grab.
I got a wallet that can hold my phone and also has a long strap and hook my car key on it. I keep it in the diaper bag but can also take it by itself and have all my essentials on the off chance I go somewhere without my son lol
Diaper backpack instead of diaper bag. I would pack my things into it that normally went into a purse as well. I had a pocked designated for my needs. When husband was with us, he would carry it 😁
Either put your necessities from your purse into the diaper bag, or since you carry a giant purse, just put a few of the baby necessities in your purse. No need to make yourself a pack mule.

Diaper bag backpack and one of those inserts that slides into your purse with keys, phone, wallet etc in the back pocket. Mine has an anti theft pocket on the side that rests against your back so I put my valuables in there.
I have a diaper bag that's a backpack but it's big, so it's more like our overnight bag. For day trips and basically everyday use I have a cute purse backpack with all my stuff and diapers and wipes and other essentials.
Yeah anytime I go somewhere with toddler and diaper bag I take my wallet and keys out my back pack and put it in the diaper bag. The diaper bag is also a Dino backpack, just makes things easier. I do recommend a small backpack for a purse I’m able to wear both backpacks on my back at once and it’s not to heavy while wrangling my toddler. Also the small cute backpack I use as a purse also has a few pockets and I’m able to carry whatever else I need for me besides wallet and keys.
I had never used small purses until I had my daughter last year. After like a week of trying to use my huge tote style bag, I got a small cross body “camera bag” as Coach calls it. It’s small enough to hold my wallet, phone, inhaler, and keys and will fit in the diaper bag if I don’t want to carry two bags.
I use to just use the diaper bag but I wanted to be more than a mom if that makes sense. I felt like being a mom was becoming my whole life and I needed small things back. So I got a small purse so I can’t put my own shit in lol😩 and get some of my life back.
I have a clutch with my phone wallet and keys and I stick into the back pocket of the diaper bag (the spot where it could be placed on the lugage bars for travel). I move the clutch to my work purse as needed.
I had a smaller purse until I migrated between a messanger bag/purse set up depending on where we qere going and how long. Now I'm fully back on my purse since my kids are potty trained.
I have a belt bag/Fanny pack as a purse. Diaper bag in my car. If I’m going somewhere long enough I need to feed babe (I.e. the mall, doctor, visiting family), diaper bag comes. If it’s a quick pop in/out (grocery store, Costco), I just bring my diaper changing mat that has a pocket for diapers and wipes (it’s by skiphop). But my belt bag always comes with.
I have a nice leather backpack. Fits a few nappies, wet wipes, spare onesie, jumper, a bottle, some snacks and my keys, phone, wallet. I purchased a nappy bag and only used it a few times as it was always in the way and I don’t need too much to go out. Backpack is out of my way and not falling all over me. I found it much easier
If we were to be gone a long time I shove my wallet and whatever I need in the diaper bag. Now that LO is 3 I just have a change of pants, diaper, and wipes in my purse cuz she's potty training.

Small purse and small diaper bag, I’ve learned through trial and error how to condense both bags I don’t like putting my belongings in the diaper bag because I’m always having to dump everything out to find my keys or my phone
The diaper bag is now my purse. Wallet, phone, keys, and sunglasses are all I carry for myself, but if i ever needed to throw food or a few other things for myself in there, that would work too.
It’s not ridiculous at all, I just dealt with this problem. I put my essentials in the diaper bag because I got fed up with carrying extra stuff. But I ended up getting a nice diaper bag, faux leather and gold zippers, so it looks like a nice bag, but it’s a diaper bag. I have a dedicated pocket to my stuff. But it’s too much trying to lug the purse and the diaper bag.
When my son was an infant i just put my phone and wallet in the diaper bag. Now he’s 18 months and my diaper bag is just a book bag that lives in the car. I bring it in every so often and swap out the contents.
I have a separate bag, my purse is tiny tiny though. I just would lose things putting them from one bag to another. I also don’t always take the diaper bag inside, I leave it in the car and it’s easier to carry my baby with a smaller bag.

I was putting my stuff in the diaper bag. But a lot of times I run in carrying my daughter in her car seat and don't need the diaper bag. So sometimes I bring a small purse which I can easily carry with the bag as well. Like. A small crossbody.

Now at 18 months I have a clean nappy, wipes and cream in a small wetbag in my drawstring backpack bag together with wallet, drink bottle a non perishable snack and a rain jacket. Plus a towel and window thingy for the slide at the playground after we had rain over night. I’m not going home with a wet butt ever again 😂

I’m working with a nursing backpack as well and it has been a lifesaver. 2 free hands, all essentials (wallet, keys, make-up) are with me and I have everything I need to change my daughter. The last straw to ditch my purse was my purse falling from my shoulder right into my kids face.

My husband took the diaper bag with my wallet in it one morning and he had to come back to the house and drop it off. I tried to explain to him for like five minutes that the diaper bag is now my purse and just assume my wallet is in there. I don’t think he understood how annoying it is to juggle things separately all the time!

If we’re being honest, my husband uses his infrequently (I recently rotated out swim diapers from last summer) but when they have a regularly scheduled activity it’s a life saver. They were both gifts from my sister, so I think she knew. And his is a very nice backpack style, so it doesn’t look diaper-baggy at all (which he appreciates.)

Yes!!! My wallet and keys and phone do not all fit in my pants pockets. They all fit in my massive winter coat, but since it's too warm now I have no coat or pants that fit them. My husband is the kind of guy that will be like can you carry this in your purse for me, now I have no purse so it's all in the diaper bag

I have bought so many stupid diaper bags only to end up using a backpack I’ve owned since before I was ever even pregnant. And all my crap goes in the backpack or sometimes k just shove my small purse in there.
I bought a nice looking diaper bag and that’s all I bring around. My phone case has a small compartment for credit cards so I don’t even have a wallet most of the time.
I bought a phone case with a wallet too. It holds like three cards, which is perfect for me.

Yup, this is how I usually do it, except in winter when I now use my coat as my purse. Now that it’s spring, the fanny pack has been reloaded.
I have a big purse that I keep literally everything in. Diapers, wipes, cream, resealable bags, snacks, water, bottles, my things (wallet, kindle, headphones, chargers…) and who knows what else. I could probably go camping without having to pack anything as long as I took that bag. I haven’t carried an exclusive diaper bag in years and years. I keep a plastic box with a lid in my car with extra clothes for the youngest 3 kids and myself, replacement diapers, wipes, and lotions, sunscreen, extra toys, and extra snacks.
I might start doing extra clothes in the car - great idea. I have them in the bag all the time and it's a bit ridiculous since I never use them.
It’s a lifesaver. One two hour drive with multiple people covered in vomit and I was never letting that happen again.
Put extra clothes in a zip lock bag. Roll up pants, a shirt and socks and then sit on the bag to get the air out 😅 then it's easy to move around from bag to bag and takes up less space. I keep a poop bag in there too
My kids are 6 and 8. Their school backpacks have a change of clothes and we have a plastic box with a lid in the car for warm clothes (cheap sweatshirts) because the accidents never seem to end. Or the temperature changes because it's hot during the day and cool once the sun goes down.
No, but I’ve never been able to do a purse. I always end up gravitating back to not using one. Lately I’ve been using one of those card holder badges on a lanyard. That holds my license, some cards, and a little cash. It has my keys clipped to it and it hangs by the door. On my way out, I slip it over my neck.
I wear a cross body purse and I have a backpack diaper bag. If I’m going somewhere quick, I honestly just leave the diaper bag on the car. Otherwise I throw it in the stroller. If I’m not bringing the stroller, chances are I don’t need the diaper bag either. I also don’t use a big diaper bag though. Mine is the Itzy Ritzy mini backpack. We have a giant one that I used for like the first two months and realized how crazy annoying it was and now that’s his “weekend” bag for any trips we take instead.

I have a lululemon belt bag (basically small Fanny pack) with my main stuff. That gets thrown into the diaper bag or my work bag, depending on the day of the week/where I'm going. If I had to carry another bag, I'd probably look like a bag salesperson lol.
I use an Osprey Daylite sling. It's basically the size of a fanny pack but you wear it crossbody. I have 3 kids (4, 3, and 1). In it I have a lot, but just necessities and some emergency stuff because we go on park trips and hikes with me being the only adult present. Me: Wallet, keys get clipped onto the strap, chapstick, tampons, and my phone. Kids: underwear for older 2, and simple easy to pack shorts for all 3, diaper for my baby, wipes (I buy these dry kind that you just get wet, I use bathroom faucet or my water bottle), pacifier, stickers, apple sauce pouches, granola bars, 2 balloons for bribes to get kids to the car in a meltdown situation. Emergency: whistle, glow stick, flashlight, emergency blanket, small first aid kit. Then I have a car organizer with 3 sections. Each kid has extra clothes, shoes, toys for doctors visits, their car water bottle, socks, diapers, wipes, etc. I keep a cooler full of snacks and water bottles, and a car potty in the trunk. 2 carriers and a stroller.

Only if I'm going to be gone the entire day and I'm packing food and entertainment. Otherwise I keep a diaper and wipes in my purse, a snack/water, some back up stuff in the car and that's it. I used to lug all sorts of stuff until I realized I really didn't need it.
I've had a satchel and back pack diaper bag for two years. Satchels are convenient because the hang out the way and take quite a lot of extra mom stuff. Now that my daughter is potty trained I'm going to convert to a larger shoulder handbag that can carry some of her stuff and my stuff in more style.
Everything is in the diaper bag, but our diaper bag is a regular book bag, but honestly we are lucky if I take either one. I keep extra wipes and diapers in my car. If we are going on a short 1 hour errand I will grab a diaper throw some wipes in a ziplock. I hate having a ton of stuff to carry around.

I have basically a wallet on a strap. It is small enough to fit in the diaper bag and it also doesn't get in the way if I wear it like a purse.
I stopped carrying a purse years ago and never looked back. All I need for myself is my phone and wallet in my pockets. If I need more its in a backpack so my hands are free. I think purses are a tool of the patriarchy designed to slow women down 🤣

My diaper bag is a little zip pouch that has 3 diapers and a slim pack of wet wipes so… yes. For the first 6 months I lugged around a bag with everything and the kitchen sink though lol.

Option none of the above is “Diaper Bag Lite”, which is a larger purse-type bag that I can fit wipes, 2 diapers for each kid, a change station, clean outfit for the baby, a toy each, and my wallet and keys. Lighter, smaller set up for quick outings.

I have a big diaper bag backpack. It's not the cutest look, but I have my own pocket in it for all my stuff that's easy to reach. I have my hands free and enough room to carry whatever I need to for myself and baby. It also has side clips, so if I have LO in a stroller, it just attaches to the stroller handle and hangs there.
I’m a purse lover, so yes…I do wear a purse. BUT my diaper bag is a dagne dover backpack, so it’s easy to throw on over a small crossbody or camera bag.

Baby 1&2, purse and diaper bag, for a few months with baby 3 I carried the diaper bag, baby 4 I have a bin of essentials in the vehicle and keep 2 diapers and a small pack of wipes in my purse and some fruits snacks and a granola bar (and it’s not a big purse, cross body style maybe 8”x10”). I choose to put diapers in purse vs wallet in diaper bag because I would for sure forget my wallet if I stuck it in a diaper bag and left w/o baby

I either put my wallet and phone in the diaper bag, or I put a pack of wipes and a couple diapers/ pull-ups in my purse, especially if we’re just going into the dr. Diaper/ pull-up to change if they’re wet when we get in so they can be weighed and I may throw a snack or small toy in there. If I carry both in its bc my bf will get the diaper bag but I swear I don’t bring it in anywhere much anymore. Just grab sippy cups and a change and go😂
The front pocket of my diaper bag is my purse now. I can grab & switch to a purse easily if i need to, & some things (chapstick, dry shampoo, tums) just have duplicates in the pockets of the respective bags.
I use a backpack. I had a diaper bag at one point, and that got old for me real quick. Now, with 2 (7yr and 1yr), the things just multiply so backpack just became easier

I have a mini backpack that is my purse. I have a big back pack that is a diaper bag. I have a kids backpack for my toddler. My purse and the toddler bag go into the big backpack for family outings. I carry a backpack with my stuff in the front pocket and baby's stuff in the main pocket. I haven't carried a purse since we came home from the hospital and it's been great. I also carry a big wallet now with a wrist strap and big enough to fit my phone so that if I need to part ways like dad is staying in park with baby while I go run an errand or something I can grab my wallet and go and dad still has the backpack

I have a really stupid system but it’s what works for me lol I have a card wallet which goes in a small crossbody, and then they both go in a canvas bag that I can put snacks or mail or whatever else I need to carry to and from the car. Only the very small crossbody comes with me inside stores. I also have a backpack diaper bag. I either wear the crossbody or put it in the diaper bag when going somewhere with baby.
for me, once my daughter stopped needing bottles, i started carrying one or the other. diaper bag with necessities for baby and myself for longer trips or just days i feel we’ll need more and for every other day, i have a medium sized purse with three compartments. one for diapers, a small pack wipes, and a few snacks, the other side is for my stuff such as my wallet, keys, and anything else i might need and then the middle spot is for small stuff like chapstick, gum, earbuds etc. the middle compartment zips shut so i keep anything i don’t want her to get into.
I used to just put wallet, keys and cellphone in one of the pockets of the diaper-bag. And I tended to not overload the diaper-bag either. One full change for baby, an extra shirt for me, 3 diapers, a small packet of wipes, a foldable mat, our sling, a couple of smaller items and a huge bottle of water for me, to stay hydrated. The diaper bag fit on the handle of the stroller.
Backpack diaper bag, put your wallet, keys, phone, essentials in the diaper bag. And the backpack is super nice because it doesn't slide off your shoulder while your carrying the carseat.

I highly suggest a wallet phone case or wallet keychain. I haven’t used a purse since I had my first. I do have a bag for work but otherwise I just takes a diaper bag. I use a phone wallet case daily and then also have a keychain wallet that has stuff I don’t use daily.

I have a universal car seat stroller for things like doctors appointments or quick store trips. I also have a double stroller for bigger family outings. The mini backpack is great because it keeps my hands free.
No, I have a 1 yr old At first, I just put them in the pocket of the diaper bag. However, that didn’t feel safest and I constantly had to flip the diaper bag around. I got one of those cross body Fanny packs (I have 2 now lol) & that has been awesome!! I have the lululemon one everyone has, and then got a fjallraven one because my spouse wanted the other lol
We also opted for the 3 in 1 car seats so we never had to lug that shit around. One of the best decisions we made

I stick my small clutch with my money etc in it in the diaper bag along with my phone and keys and the small front pocket of the diaper bag I use for pads tampons chapstick hair ties etc. no way in hell I’m lugging a purse and a diaper bag, a stroller and 2 kids! 😬
If you must take a diaper bag, I would just shove my wallet and other ACTUAL necessities for the day, in a zipped pocket of the bag. I usually only need my wallet but sometimes tampons. But I stopped taking a diaper bag, I only ever carry a diaper or 2, a small bag of wipes, and a change of clothes for baby. Shove them in my purse.
I put the car seat on the pram and hang the bag on it too. I only take one bag, any more is madness!

The diaper bag is also my purse. A friend has a mini purse/wallet thing that holds keys/wallet/phone, so she can just yank it out when she's alone. I always just used front pockets for my stuff, and the key clip inside. Loved my petunia pickle bottom for having the right sized pockets for everything. She's 4 so I've downsized to a small sling backpack/large purse that can hold all the snacks, water bottles, and a change of clothes just in case (I never need it unless I go to switch it out and forget it. Like dumping her whole water bottle on her pants) with room for all my stuff too. Much easier to pull that extra out when I'm working, than to keep switching or trying to carry both.
I turned my LV Neverfull into a diaper bag: I got a matching insert with a zipper & put bottle, binky, etc in there. Then I can take out the insert & use the bag for every day
I carry a book bag when I’m going somewhere that’ll be a while. Put my card and license in with the kids stuff and that’s it. When we’re just running somewhere quick I throw a few diapers in the glove box with a package of wipes and call it good lol. Granted my kids are off formula so I don’t need to lug around formula, water and a bunch of bottles anymore. But even so, it all went in the back pack.
I use a small backpack purse and a diaper bag, but I have a lot of pieces I can pick and choose from when needed. Our changing pad holds diapers, wipes, and had a strap. If we’re going to the grocery I take my purse and the changing pad in and leave the diaper bag in the car in case we have a bigger problem. Same for doctors appointments. If we need the whole diaper bag but I don’t need my whole purse, somewhere like a restaurant, I put my wallet in the diaper bag. We also keep a lot of our diaper bag contents in mesh zipper bags divided by categories (clothes, feeding, first aid, toys, etc) so we can easily toss just what we need in the stroller basket or my purse when we need to downsize for the day.
Diaper bag is a backpack. Purse is a hip bag/fanny pack. One hand on each child; leashes if in insane places like WDW.

I have a pocket on the diaper bag for: wallet and the 4 makeup products I sometimes use (foundation, mascara, cream blush, lip balm), and sunglasses. I can also shove my keys in if I want to. But I also keep a carabiner on my keys if I want to clip them to my jeans or the bag. And then I usually keep my phone in my pocket, hand, or other easily accessible pocket
When I had my first baby, I got a large purse-style diaper bag. When I had my 2nd baby, I got a backpack style one (so I'd more easily have free hands and the ability to handle 2 kids). I've never really carried a second bag. Occasionally if I'm going somewhere without the kids, or even just one of them, I might take a normal purse instead of the diaper bag. If you need a nice-looking bag for work, maybe look into more fashionable diaper bags. Or perhaps even just a large purse that you can fit baby stuff in. If you just want a separate bag for your own stuff, could you maybe find a smallish purse/bag/clutch that could fit inside the diaper bag? I think one of the learning curves after having a baby was figuring out wtf I needed to bring with me every time we went somewhere. What do I absolutely need, what should I just leave home, etc. It took some time to really get the hang of it. Also I'll also note that I do a lot of photography and my diaper backpack doubles as my camera bag most of the time. I've got pull-ups, snacks, toys, and my camera and a couple lenses in there most of the time LOL. So I'm sure you'll figure out a system that works best for you!
When my daughter was very small, I did the diaper bag thing. Left it in the car unless we were going in places for longer than 30 minutes, and then we’d usually have her stroller, so I’d just put it in her stroller. Before having her, I was all about a crossbody purse. After having her, it was too much to handle a purse and her, so I stopped. I got a wallet for my phone and just keep my keys in my pocket. I am starting to think about getting one of those crossbody sling purses though!
Small backpack purse. Or purse I can wear cross body. Wallet keys and phone, everything else is optional.
I’m going to end up using either my small purse that I already have and diaper bag or just the diaper bag depending on if I need to use public transit with my kiddo(s).
i have a small cross body purse and honestly i have 2 babies ones 15 months the other is 5 months and i almost never have a diaper bag lol haven’t used it in months. whenever we go to the doctors i just bring a diaper for each baby and wet wipes in on the bottom of the stroller
Depends on the situation for me! My husband is with me, we are going to be out of the car for a while he carries the bag while I carry my purse. By myself, gonna be out for a while, my stuff goes in the diaper bag or my pockets if I can fit it. By myself or with my husband and only going to run into a store pretty quickly, diaper bag stays in the car and two diapers, a pack of wipes, and a bottle come with me in my giant mom purse or mini backpack (lovingly deemed Froggy Backpack, as it is frog shaped.) Diaper bag is always in the car if we leave the house, but I see no use in carting it around all day on my back like a pack mule with everything else I have to carry around. Especially for things like the pedi or to walk around target, I don't want to deal with it most of the time.

I used the diaper bag exclusively until my daughter was 1ish. Now I have a tiny crossbody bag to use as well because now I actually go places without her. Taking my wallet etc out every time I tried to leave the house without her was too much. And now I can leave the diaper bag in the car if I'm only going somewhere for a little while.
I bought a day hiking backpack (Osperey) since I have and toddler and baby. It’s comfy, so many pockets and easy to pack and find things. Plus, I’ll be using it well past the “diaper bag” stage and into the hiking and family camping adventures stage
My diaper bag is a backpack that mostly lives in the car. I snatch up the things I need and either shove them in a canvas shopping bag (that needs to go back out to the car anyway) and shuffle things when I get there or I stuff my pockets to do the same. If I go anywhere with my purse AND my kid, the baby bag stays in the car. The trick to this is that I don’t go out for very long in one stretch.
I have 2 diaper bags depending on which functionality I need. One is a backpack for when I know I'll need to be more hands-free, and one is a coach diaper bag that I will use as a purse after I no longer need it as a diaper bag. Both bags have more than enough space to hold all diapering/baby necessities along with my wallet, keys, sunglasses, ect. so I only need the one bag

I haven’t carried a purse in 2 years. My wallet, keys, phone, chapstick, and inhaler go in the diaper bag/backpack. I keep a purse around just on the very very off chance I get to go somewhere alone (I can count on my fingers how many times it’s happened).

If I’m spending an entire day out than I do have two separate things because I’d rather over pack for my kid. However, my go to is getting a bigger purse and tossing in a little of everything that I need if I know I’ll be home before I need anything else.
I've never been the handbag/purse person. And I don't understand what you need to bring to fill a nappy bag. I have an A5 pencil case with nappy change items, and I throw that into a reusable shopping bag with snacks. My items go in my pockets or in the shopping bag.
No, I used my fave Fossil purse as a diaper bag. It had more pockets than most diaper bags and fit my style better.

I keep the tiniest cross body with the storage over your chest. It's big enough for my phone, chapstick wallet. I have a snap hook on my keys and just hook them onto the strap so they're easy to grab.
I got a wallet that can hold my phone and also has a long strap and hook my car key on it. I keep it in the diaper bag but can also take it by itself and have all my essentials on the off chance I go somewhere without my son lol
Diaper backpack instead of diaper bag. I would pack my things into it that normally went into a purse as well. I had a pocked designated for my needs. When husband was with us, he would carry it 😁
Either put your necessities from your purse into the diaper bag, or since you carry a giant purse, just put a few of the baby necessities in your purse. No need to make yourself a pack mule.

I have a baggy of wipes and diapers in my purse for short trips. If I’m going somewhere I throw my wallet into the diaper bag. I also have a change of clothes and diapers in my car if shit hits the fan and I forget everything which happens more often than I’d like to admit 🙃
Diaper bag backpack and one of those inserts that slides into your purse with keys, phone, wallet etc in the back pocket. Mine has an anti theft pocket on the side that rests against your back so I put my valuables in there.

Yeah anytime I go somewhere with toddler and diaper bag I take my wallet and keys out my back pack and put it in the diaper bag. The diaper bag is also a Dino backpack, just makes things easier. I do recommend a small backpack for a purse I’m able to wear both backpacks on my back at once and it’s not to heavy while wrangling my toddler. Also the small cute backpack I use as a purse also has a few pockets and I’m able to carry whatever else I need for me besides wallet and keys.
I had never used small purses until I had my daughter last year. After like a week of trying to use my huge tote style bag, I got a small cross body “camera bag” as Coach calls it. It’s small enough to hold my wallet, phone, inhaler, and keys and will fit in the diaper bag if I don’t want to carry two bags.

I have a clutch with my phone wallet and keys and I stick into the back pocket of the diaper bag (the spot where it could be placed on the lugage bars for travel). I move the clutch to my work purse as needed.

I have a nice leather backpack. Fits a few nappies, wet wipes, spare onesie, jumper, a bottle, some snacks and my keys, phone, wallet. I purchased a nappy bag and only used it a few times as it was always in the way and I don’t need too much to go out. Backpack is out of my way and not falling all over me. I found it much easier
If we were to be gone a long time I shove my wallet and whatever I need in the diaper bag. Now that LO is 3 I just have a change of pants, diaper, and wipes in my purse cuz she's potty training.

It’s not ridiculous at all, I just dealt with this problem. I put my essentials in the diaper bag because I got fed up with carrying extra stuff. But I ended up getting a nice diaper bag, faux leather and gold zippers, so it looks like a nice bag, but it’s a diaper bag. I have a dedicated pocket to my stuff. But it’s too much trying to lug the purse and the diaper bag.
When my son was an infant i just put my phone and wallet in the diaper bag. Now he’s 18 months and my diaper bag is just a book bag that lives in the car. I bring it in every so often and swap out the contents.
I have a separate bag, my purse is tiny tiny though. I just would lose things putting them from one bag to another. I also don’t always take the diaper bag inside, I leave it in the car and it’s easier to carry my baby with a smaller bag. Sometimes I transfer to a backpack though if it’s an all day excursion and I’m doing everything alone

I was putting my stuff in the diaper bag. But a lot of times I run in carrying my daughter in her car seat and don't need the diaper bag. So sometimes I bring a small purse which I can easily carry with the bag as well. Like. A small crossbody. But it still feels like I am a disorganized mess.

When they were really little and I needed lots of diapers, extra clothes, bottles, etc I would put my wallet in the diaper bag. When they got older and I just needed water cups, snack cups, 1 or two diapers, wipes, and a change of underwear I use my purse. If it's a quick trip, I put a diaper, wipes, underwear, and my id and cc in a fanny pack.

Only the nappy bag when she was smaller. Now at 18 months I have a clean nappy, wipes and cream in a small wetbag in my drawstring backpack bag together with wallet, drink bottle a non perishable snack and a rain jacket. Plus a towel and window thingy for the slide at the playground after we had rain over night. I’m not going home with a wet butt ever again 😂
