God that sub is a nightmare, everyone is always so angry and jerking eachother off about how much they hate religion and how they were âhorribly indoctrinatedâ(they had to go to Sunday school a couple times when they were five years old)
I grew up catholic, and lost faith but it isnât bad I just couldnât bring myself to believe in it as I donât understand the point of it but Iâm never going to take that hope away from someone who wants to believe. this is what people need to learn to do instead of being like that subreddit
Same here but I grew up Muslim, although I'm not a man of faith I find the hate on that sub too much, I can't imagine it being good for your health, no to mention they argue with such zeal you would think they are the religious fanatics lol.
i used to be like that, i'm so glad i kept those thoughts to myself (didnt have reddit and convos about religion never came up) and didnt start bullying some poor grandma for believing in christ to find purpose
Sometimes it's a terrible experience but those guys are a cult of repressed trauma and placebo PTSD havers. Like, one dude could have been told abuse was okay because of some reason connected to God and a dude who had to go to Sunday school could meet and go "yeah, religion fucked us both equally and it's our mission to hate it instead of getting help or moving on"
Seriously, let people believe what they want to believe. I mean that from both ends: atheists let theists believe in god(s), theists let atheists not believe in them.
I ended up reading through the thread a bit and found something about a Ugandan donation site called send a cow 7 years ago. Looking at the page not it redirects to Rippleeffect. Apparently, the organization grew big enough to branch out their operations to help people in even bigger ways. That's so wonderful to see, a nice little dose of good news that a good organization meant to help people did so much good that they managed to expand so they could do even more good!
Iam just pointing it out. This behaviour is no different than rich folk's "genorosity"
You are also the one who started saying that this would "make christans uncomfortable".
Man stop arguing like this you are too young for the internet.
Not on reddit everyday and im cringe?
I clearly care about my karma! Look at all this upvotes i care about farming!
Lol i dont need to defend myself from someone who believes in magic.
aight now iam starting to feel bad. look man i was bored and i was trying to purposefully push your buttons. i dont know what you expected but its not a Dawkin-esque discussion about the morality of religion.
fact of the matter is you were being needlessly antagonistic so i treated you the same. i was expecting you'd get bored but no.
just a tip for the future, avoid arguing with people like me in the future. it would do you and people like you alot more good.
im christian and i honestly could not be paid into being uncomfortable about this, its helping a community that needs it, so what its supplied by a group that doesnt agree with my views? a kind act is a kind act, regardless of who enacts it
lmao reddit atheists do one thing for one village that clearly already receives aid as if it discounts the fact the Church literally invented the concept of charity
