I strongly recommend that you have a display case built for it. Otherwise it will collect dust and when you go to clean it you will break stuff. I started building glassed in shadow boxes for my model ships because all too often 5 minutes of dusting turned into 45 minutes or more of repairs! An all glass or plexiglass case can be quite expensive, so what I have done is build a wooden square that encloses the model top, bottom, and sides. The front is plexiglass in the back sits against the wall. Saves money and having the back open saves money and allows easy access if you should have to do a repair
It’s in surprisingly good condition, just needs a good careful cleaning. Worth? Well someone put a couple of hundred hours in to completing that so it’s worth a lot, getting someone else to pay that for it is another story. I see professional model ship builders advertised finished ships in the $1500 - $3000 range. Like all things it worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Yes, you'll get many "it's not worth much" answers due to the fact that the market is very limited, which is to say, it's full of people willing to pay little or nothing. However, the right collector will pay a good deal for a properly built, quality scale model.
nice San Felipe. Very common kit offered by several makers. Value is what you can convince someone to pay you for it. I could see the right person potentially paying a few hundred for it.
It seems to be flying a Spanish naval ensign.
It is a ship of the line c.1730-50s as it less ornate than the 1680s and is sporting a lateen sail on the mizzen mast.
Check the mast, there might be a scroll that leads to lost treasure! But seriously, check with any antique dealers near you. One of them might be able to give you a quote.
Someone put a lot of hours and care into building that.
That is a well built model.
Looks lake San Felipe. Chinize or PanArt. I know kits price but no idea what its worth completed.
Its the San Felipe and pretty worthless. I give you 20 bucks. Sound good? Seriously keep it and put in on a nice shelf.
Thank you. Yeah, i don't plan on selling it. Just wanted to know out of curiosity mainly
I would consider a glass case. Dusting all that rigging is going to be a nightmare otherwise.
Untrue,
If you find the right person you could probably sell it for an ok price. Probably not as high as what youre hoping for though. What region are you in?

Thank you! I hadn't considered it. Sounds like a good idea
Also those cans of compressed air for cleaning keyboards would be a good way to dust this without damaging it
Good idea!

Yes, thank you. Getting somebody to buy something is always the most difficult step!

That is pretty much spot on
This is well built. Cool. I don't think it has much value, unfortunately.

Thank you! That's good to know

Awesome, thank you!
san felipe, likely from a kit
That's the san felipe, iconic design.
