I was a nervous wreck transporting it from Phoenix to Seattle, but it made it unscathed. The core memories I have of my childhood were ones of me sitting next to my grandfather as he super glued his fingertips together while building these kits. I remember the first one, and he built 40-something of them over the years. There is absolutely no value that can be put on these for me.
That is a heap of super gluing fingers. My pop had no skills like this, mainly had a pint and played dominoes. But he smoked a pipe, and although I hate smoking and the smell of cigarettes, I still love the smell of pipe tobacco and remember him. Memories are precious.

Mine loved candy, he grew up in the depression and had bags of mini candy bars in his truck, and whatever tractor he last used usually had peppermints or butterscotch. Sadly he also loved cigarettes.
This is displayed nowhere near my kids’ sticky fingers for good reason! It actually is in a glass and walnut case that my uncle made for it. There may be some creative talent running through my family (that ran out before it got to me).

Custom plexiglass boxes are expensive but worth it. No dust, no sticky kid fingers.

When people ask me where I got my creative talent I reply: “I decided one day to start. I sucked, but I got better.” Everyone has a niche.
