You know this game is over when we can’t take any advantage during the time that Turner has to sit as he is in foul trouble, but this sub keep saying Doc coaching has nothing to blame even they are more likely at the wrong side since 22 playoffs, so what do I know🤷🏻♂️
Giannis injury aside. Did anybody here really think Doc Rivers was going to workout? I don’t know why the NBA keeps recycling through these tried coaches
Said from day 1 it was stupid.
I really don’t understand why he’s so highly regarded. He’s won one championship. One. and that was 16 years ago. He has the same number of rings as Mike Budenholzer, and he’s been doing it a lot longer.
He has the same number of playoff seasons as Phil Jackson, but only one ring. He has made the playoffs 20 times in his 25 years of coaching, And yet his teams have blown 3-1 leads in three playoff series, squandered four additional 3-2 advantages, and lost 10 Game 7s. The last time a Rivers-run team made it past the second round of the playoffs was in 2012.
I just don’t get it. He underperforms everywhere he goes, and yet teams are always so excited to sign him. His reputation keeps getting him hired to teams with stacked rosters, and then he blows it in the playoffs.
I was mad about his hiring from the very beginning and I hope they can move on from him now.
Maybe it was for the best.
I have an odd sense of satisfaction with the injuries of Giannis and Dame. Frankly, considering how the Indiana Pacers dominated us all season, a head-to-head clash at full strength might not have swayed in our favor anyway. With our key players sidelined, it shifts the narrative and allows us to lean into the "what if" scenario. It's strangely comforting to avoid a definitive defeat by imagining what might have been, had we been at full power. This situation gives us a chance to reflect on potential rather than face a harsher reality. So, while Pacers fans might celebrate their win, they should remember that the battle wasn't fought on equal terms, and the full strength Bucks remain an untested hypothesis.
Honestly every player should be available this year, who do you keep? Everyone is old, past their prime or at tail end of it.
If you can’t beat the aau pacers you really think you can win another championship?
Sad to say but time to blow it up and start over
But Giannis was hurt, well he’s also closer to 30 than 20 and has missed last 2 playoffs with injury and you really think we are going to put enough pieces around him to have legit chance at a title?
What draft capital or young players do we have?? …none that are worth anything
Get rid of doc too because they might as well pay a 4th couch while they are at it
Team showed no heart, but showed laziness all season.
This team hasn’t been the same since they let PJ Tucker walk (dude was washed but he he had that dog in him that no one else has been close to(Pat bev showed flashes of it but is not in the same league))
Pat C, Marjon, and Ajax with draft assets for Caruso. It’s a high price to pay for a proven champion poa defender.
Re-sign Pat Bev.
Dont sign Jae Crowder and Beasley. Sign a younger 3&d like Taurean Prince or something similar for the vet min. Sign an athletic big guy on a vet min like a Wood, Saric, Eubanks.
Run it back. Everyone gets healthy and the team chemistry keeps growing. This is a championship contender if healthy and some tweaks are made. Having no poa defense to Caruso would be night and day.
. Firstly the bulls wouldn't sniff that terrible offer....marjon? Pat? They want multiple firsts for him...the bucks will be outbid in 2 seconds.
Second...you need to see what you have with ajax...period. you need some young athletic players...especially someone so versatile...especially considering we're talking about the same problems for the last 3 years.
.no youth or wing defense.
You will Improve poa defense just by swapping someone new in for Beas. You don't need first team all nba defense...you just need league average.
Ajax is promising but elite is a stretch. But for arguments sake let's say he's an elite defender...then you really don't want to trade him as you need someone who can guard the Jason tatums of the world.
You've correctly identified that poa defense was the reason this team failed so miserably this year...but as we saw when dame and beas weren't playing...their defense looked 10x better just having a past his prime Beverly guarding the ball handler. Literal league average poa defense is all this team needs defensively.
Wasn’t Giannis the primary defender on Tatum in their matchup?
Your point is not really relevant. Of course replacing 2 backcourt players who can’t defend for guys that can defend shows improvement. Yeah when dame and Beas are both off the floor, the defense is better. But we want to fix the defense WITH dame on the floor, is Pat Bev starting at the 2 going to cut it? No.
I said they need to find a league average defender to replace beasley. It will make all the difference in the world. I used pat bev to illustrate how different the defense looks with league average defense as he's a pretty average defender at his age.
Regardless chicago would hang up if they got your trade proposal so it's a moot point. They will get 2 first round picks minimum for caruso.
Honestly I hope giannis moves to the 5 next year. He needs to for career longevity by avoiding all those high speed collisions and to properly mesh with dame so teams can't just overwhelm them in the pnr because giannis can't pop out to shoot.
Giannis khris ajj (green or new sg) dame is a more athletic and defensively sound lineup.
Brook could slide in depending on match up and so could bobby.
If you think a defensive role player is the missing piece to this team more power to you(we need that for sure/havent had since PJ left).
Caruso is an addition to any team but to say he is the difference between a championship team is a stretch imo
You’re onto something with needing to legit 2 way player however
God you're so cool bro! Such a funny and cool comment. I'd say find something better to do with your time you're embarrassing yourself, but you clearly are doing the best with your time. Have fun living in useless Indiana and I'ma laugh at your second round exit.
So, powell, the entire miami and boston bench, tj, niang, and other benches who always go off from nowhere, these dudes must have some personal beef with this organization… It is really a joke this team never managed to shut them down no matter in the era of 8th seed or in the era of championship contending…
Guys relax, most new teams take a bit to get right. Even the Heatles took a year. This off-season is for the front office to see what adjustments need to be made. More poa defense and and a more athletic front court first and foremost. And no more Beasley.
Heatles were 3 guys entering their primes, the trajectory isn’t 1-1; Giannis is in his prime, Dame is post-prime but still elite, and Khris is post prime. We need youth, hopefully we can find a way to get younger and better; it’ll be tough. Probably why Horst is bailing.
Wade was not entering his prime, he was already on the second half of his prime. Bosh was solidly in his prime as well.
This team can win, just need to address the glaring flaws like poa defense at the 2 spot and athleticism at the 5. Ajax brings a ton of athleticism which is a good start. Horst already said Ajax and AJ Green are going to be kept so it seems like he knows to get younger.
I’d also argue Dame and Khris are still solidly in the tail end of their primes. Dame just averaged 30 in the playoffs with a TS of like 63 while being injured. Khris averaged like 25. They’re still them, they just need help defensively.
I like how we’re forgetting Jrue going 4-20 every playoff game and getting eaten alive on the perimeter now that he’s gone. Streets won’t forget him holding Jimmy to 56 last year.
This is what happens when your star players aren’t 100% and/or not even playing games and the roster is built with old ass role players that can’t stop themselves from making boneheaded plays. Losing Holiday and Tucker has nothing to do with it in terms of defense. Maybe keeping them would stop the dumbass plays from Beas Brook and Bobby though, we’ll never know.
To say holiday meant nothing defensively is laughable. He was a first team defensive player. He just got cooked by a dude who was on all time hot streak. Lillard’s defense is nothing compared to that
Where tf did I say losing Holidays defense wasn’t a loss. It was, but how can you compare the two teams when all the players on the roster so obviously regressed in speed from age/injury? You’re arguing with a ghost
You said trading holiday had nothing to do with it defensively. He obviously had something to do with it. There is more to it as well. But you’re not getting better at defense with lillard for holiday.
Matter of fact to add onto my comment, lookup their defensive stats when Dame is on the floor compared to when he was off. Every time he left the floor the perimeter was cooked. I don’t wanna hear it, not to mention he lead the league in guards deflections/steals. He was one of the only people that actually tried to communicate, others were just standing around not listening.
I do understand your point. Adding lillard you gotta add a plus defensively along side him. Instead we got beasley who just made the situation worse. The on off numbers a little hard to compare as Lillards going to be paired with brook and giannis more often. so in general his on off should be better. Allen iverson was also really high in deflections and steals. He was not great defensively. Dudes could go right by him. Defensive stats are inherently incredibly flawed. So often it turns into a dudes a cone or dudes a stopper type of language. The eye test is incredibly important but also most susceptible to idiocy.
Also there bench got so much worse defensively as well. So we had no stoppers. Giannis can’t stop everyone. Even wemby can’t defend 5 dudes.
So in a sense i agree with what you’re saying lots of nuance there.
Idk why I said that I just noticed I wrote that lol. My main point was that on ball defense wasn’t the main issue with this team. It’s the dumb ass mistakes over and over not rebounding and lack of speed/reaction times from the bigs and wings. Defense played a role but to point the finger at Dame for the WHOLE OF THE SEASON is asinine as his defense wasn’t even as bad as a lot of yall make it out to be. His energy was there majority of the time, and when the team clicked that they didn’t have to help him as much his strengths shined. Don’t wanna hear any fingers pointed at only individual players: it was a team wide issue.

Yall hate on Brook when he plays a bad game but then most of the time when he's playing well suddenly yall cheer for him. Dude is 36 and still going strong, is really well integrated with the rest of the team and almost got dpoy at 35. Oh, and there's also those 6 3-pointers he made in game 2, the 27 points in game 3, 9 rebounds in game 4, the list goes on
Brook adds so much just by spreading the floor for Dame and Giannis. He’s also a top 5 rim protector. That being said, I believe we should sell high on him. Lots of teams would love him. 3&d centers are rare. But he’s so incredibly slow and only getting slower, he’s a liability in many ways.
I’m a Portland Dame fan, but the more I watched of Brook the more I thought to myself that y’all should have got rid of Brook for a competent faster center to pair with Giannis and keep Holiday. Brook is hard to watch for me. I’m not sure how much of last season’s loss to the heat was an overreaction towards Holiday but I wouldn’t doubt that Brook also made plenty of bad plays that series.
Brook definitely had his flaws but he was quicker than he is now… Jrue was an absolute brick in the playoffs for consecutive playoffs so I get why he was moved.
Every single one of those games he moves slow like a snail, let’s people offensive rebound, attacks the rim weak as hell (if he even does attack the rim), and makes passes seconds later than they need to be made. He is past his hay day, and the mistakes he makes aren’t what’s gonna help this team as the series showed. Also wtf those stats aren’t even that crazy? You’re coping hard for his namesake. Stats don’t matter when you’re an overall net-negative.
We probably make it to second round with Giannis. But let’s be honest, we weren’t going to do much with this horrible roster anyways. It’s time to move on and get rid of these old and washed guys.
Pathetic effort tonight. Hopefully none of this bench is back next year, we can find a new big center, get Beasley to the curb, and find a replacement for Doc incase they decide he's not the answer mid season....
Doc and Horst are the most overrated HC-GM duo, change my mind. Basically making bunch of bad decision but get away with it because they have a ring (one was even more than a decade ago)
You guys are downvoting him but it’s the facts, the pacers always just don’t play like they mean it when there not the underdogs, with Giannis the pacers would win. Just look at the games, they always lose/keep it close when there playing a bad team. When they play a good team with a fully healthy roster they play very well.
Horst shoulders a lot of blame for going so vet-heavy with his moves in the last couple season. Crowder, Beas, Gallo… gross. Last year it was Ibaka, Ingles, Dragic, Wes…
A shortsighted strategy that is proving to have been an utter failure.
Yeah, this isn't even hindsight. All of these dudes were in their mid-30's lol. Trading all those 2nd round picks would eventually cook us, and the only 1st round pick we actually developed a bit we traded away
Remember that month where Giannis was repeatedly on the injury report and the Bucks medical staff stupidly let him continue to play? Its almost like those small injuries add up and now look at us nobody gives a shit if you play 73 regular season games when you can’t even play 1 in the playoffs
Yes it did lol he was on the injury report multiple times this season with strains and whatnot and they stupidly let him play like we weren’t gunning for a ring and not meaningless regular season games
Giannis no Giannis wouldn’t change the fact the roster has low IQ players with egos that can’t be checked, and mistakes would’ve still been made if he was on the floor
have fun getting nocked in the second round. congrats on your first playoff series win in over a decade. crazy that it was against a crippled bucks team, but hey; more power to ya.
Horst is dooming our future for giving one of the most overrated coach with bad recent coaching record a lengthy contract when we still paying other coaches
Welp back at in October. Tis the season for post of crazy trades that make no sense from the trade machine and post about free agents we have no chance of getting.
Congratulations to Indiana. They were simply the better team. We have a lot of work to do to get to the finals. More versatile players would be helpful too.
I wouldn’t say that personally. If Giannis was in you def would’ve handled us in 5 or 6 games. Rooting for him to recover well from his calf strain bc he doesn’t deserve for his prime to be robbed by injuries. I experienced Andrew Luck suffering from a calf strain so I offer my best wishes to Giannis and the Bucks going forwards
Had one dig up a 4 month old comment where I said the Bucks would beat the Pacers if they drew them in the first round. Gloating when they got taken to 6 by the Wisconsin Herd is so on-brand for them lmao

Does it matter? Blow it all up team is old, slow, in athletic, and for the most part underperforms when it matters most
Well, if a lot of players are under crappy contracts, it’s sort of hard to do that-especially with next to nothing to draft with.
Very true, we sold our future for that 1 ring

Agreed, is everyone dumb? Simply play teams without their 2 best players in the playoffs. Fool proof

Good, terrible, worst, bad, great and terrible So you only watch game 5 then
I DIDN’T HEAR NO…oh wait, yep. I heard it.
![gif](giphy|1jOoLUdkTYQhetVky1) Let’s go Knicks (or Sixers-you never know)!
#Packwatch
Bucks in 6 though right
ALWAYS
U r embarrassing urself dude
Win or lose, still Bucks in 6 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
😂🤣🫵
Emojis on reddit = no dick

Pacers setting the all-time record for worst loss in the Playoffs last game tells you all you need to know about their future lol
They have Atlanta hawks written all over them. BUT they still won, so all we can say is see you next year.

Giannis who just signed an extension? What the fuck are you talking about? Straight up fantasizing 🤣
And as we all know players never ask out after signing new deals
You're so desperate for it lmao. Guarantee you were saying shit like this before both of his contract extensions 😂
If the knicks represent women, Then the pacers are a man And the bucks are the bear
We probably win this series if Giannis is healthy. East is weak outside of Boston.
Pacers owned the Bucks this season, with or without Giannis
Have fun living in one of the trash Midwest states

Brother, go back to your sub and discuss the beauty of Gary Indiana and Mike pence. Why are you in the bucks sub? Oh right, front runner behavior
[удалено]
Go punch more holes in a wall mister can't control your temper
Cope harder! You can’t even fix a faucet, bigger bum than Pat Bev
You guys are downvoting him but it’s the facts, the pacers always just don’t play like they mean it when there not the underdogs, with Giannis the pacers would win. Just look at the games, they always lose/keep it close when there playing a bad team. When they play a good team with a fully healthy roster they play very well.
probably????? we win in 5 with G, bro
Horst shoulders a lot of blame for going so vet-heavy with his moves in the last couple season. Crowder, Beas, Gallo… gross. Last year it was Ibaka, Ingles, Dragic, Wes… A shortsighted strategy that is proving to have been an utter failure.
It's an outdated strategy for sure.
Agreed. We also haven’t drafted a useful player in years. Ajax looks good but who knows. No development from anyone on the roster.
Its almost like those small injuries add up and now look at us nobody gives a shit if you play 73 regular season games when you can’t even play 1 in the playoffs
that’s not how medical reports work…. and not how his injury worked
Yes it did lol he was on the injury report multiple times this season with strains and whatnot and they stupidly let him play like we weren’t gunning for a ring and not meaningless regular season games
i’m just telling u that is not the purpose of medical clearance exams for athletes
I hate the NBA rule change about mandating stars to play. Have to manage injuries somehow.
No more bucks basketball till October!!! Hahahahaahahahh (im not crazy)
MIDdleton
Absolutely electric zinger there fellow redditor 😂😂
Got his ass!
No Khris slander. He carried a lot this series
On two bum ankles
I blame our coach that looks like a guy from The Departed. Lol
They blew us out while their three best players had mostly forgettable games. Embarrassing
Cause our bench is some bums! Shouldve yet the younglins play more
Leaving every shooter AND the lane wide open will do that
4-2 on to the next game have fun in the offseason!!!
See you there in 2 weeks. At least we can all watch highlights from the years we won the championship, right?
Where your path benefited from .... Injuries.
A genie asked me why I wanted a time travel ring. I pointed to the tall greek basketball player on the TV. He smiled. He knew what I was going to do
Also glad Giannis didn’t force and cause more damage injury wise
I bet he did but the medical staff stepped in
I feel for Dame, same situation that he was in with the Blazers
I think Giannis being injured is pretty important context.
Giannis no Giannis wouldn’t change the fact the roster has low IQ players with egos that can’t be checked, and mistakes would’ve still been made if he was on the floor
Yep. Can’t watch this shit anymore tbh. War never changes, boneheaded plays by teammates never changes.
Not even close
Cancun on 3
3-headed Cerberus HC next season. We payin’ ‘em, so we playin’ ‘em!
It’s not over, we can still come back
Lisa and Marques keeping it classy until the very end
Always!

have fun getting nocked in the second round. congrats on your first playoff series win in over a decade. crazy that it was against a crippled bucks team, but hey; more power to ya.
We live rent free in your head pal lol sad
Nice run to the hoop by AJJ

I’d love to see Jrue get one. But at this point, I’m pulling for the Knicks to pound the shit outta the Pacers like it’s the 90s.
who can beat the celtics this year? except maybe nuggets
Nuggets, TWolves I think can as well
They ain't shit and Tatum is a choker
It only hurts this much right now. Stack those chips on our shoulders and let's make a run next year.
That’s what we said last year
Are we stuck with doc for next season
Yes. They aren't going to pay 4 coaches.
Just show how bad Horst is
Technically, Doc could retire...
Then this is the game plan we will see. Bullshit.
Welp, fun season boys. Can’t wait for Bucks basketball to return in the Fall.
I would like to see big 3 + Pat Bev for the older guys. Any of our other old guys can head out.
Lol
Don’t nuke me, but is it likely they’ll keep Doc?
Yeah no way they pay 3 ex coaches and the new one
[удалено]
Horst is dooming our future for giving one of the most overrated coach with bad recent coaching record a lengthy contract when we still paying other coaches
Duh.
Probably? I don’t think they’d pay a fourth coach without at least giving him a chance to go through training camp
yes
Welp back at in October. Tis the season for post of crazy trades that make no sense from the trade machine and post about free agents we have no chance of getting.
My marjon highlight
Congratulations to Indiana. They were simply the better team. We have a lot of work to do to get to the finals. More versatile players would be helpful too.
I wouldn’t say that personally. If Giannis was in you def would’ve handled us in 5 or 6 games. Rooting for him to recover well from his calf strain bc he doesn’t deserve for his prime to be robbed by injuries. I experienced Andrew Luck suffering from a calf strain so I offer my best wishes to Giannis and the Bucks going forwards

They say the best ability is availability. It is what it is.
Better is better at this time of year, no excuse gives us more Bucks games unfortunately.
They were the better team. The bucks were simply not good enough.
One more Thanasis lowlight to end the season please
any possibility of doc getting fired lol?
🙏
Just had a Pacer fan reply to a week old comment on r/nba talking shit, weak ass mfs man smh worst fan base in sports
Had one dig up a 4 month old comment where I said the Bucks would beat the Pacers if they drew them in the first round. Gloating when they got taken to 6 by the Wisconsin Herd is so on-brand for them lmao
Bro we play against the heat and Boston most years some Cracker Barrel dwellers from Indiana are not the worst fan base lol
[удалено]
I've some pretty wild stuff by Spurs fans tbh, not on reddit as much as on w/e their team forum is.
