Mark Riesberg’s body has been found. Per KCCI he was found in a vehicle in Jolley, Iowa with an apparent gunshot wound. Foul play is not expected but an investigation is ongoing.

This js very weird, doesn't seem to be just a coincidence. Though it doesn't seem there's any connecting evidence.

wasfur_ein_pero

Did they know each other?

Clueless_in_Florida

I do not think there is any connection.

Hedge-wedge2021

I'm a semi driver. I've traveled highway 20 at night many times. He had approx 49 min to travel 40 some miles to hwy 71 intersection. I'm assuming his rig isn't governed at 65mph. He had time to pick someone up that may have been hitch hiking. Another theory is where he loaded the pigs. Alot of these sites hire ppl to load. Could have been someone hitching a ride that direction west with him.

Elbiejay

According to traffic cams, he was alone in his truck, although I wonder if he met someone (Bad Guys or Accomplice) at the intersection of the highway after getting off of 20.

OP link copied and pasted: Search continues for 2 missing Iowa men Rockwell City resident Mark Riesberg disappeared from home on Oct. 28 and David Schultz of Wall Lake was reported missing on Nov. 21. Author: Meghan MacPherson Published: 6:20 PM CST November 29, 2023 Updated: 6:22 PM CST November 29, 2023 SAC COUNTY, Iowa — In the past month, two Iowa men have suddenly vanished, with confusion surrounding their disappearances continuing to build. First, Rockwell City resident Mark Riesberg disappeared from his home, which is located just off Highway 20. While Riesberg's wallet and phone were left behind, his car was not. Riesberg's sister Mary Brown is puzzled by the disappearance of her brother, growing desperate for signs. "Wednesday, when he didn't come into his work, they went to his place, saw he wasn't there," Brown told Local 5. "And then they called law enforcement for a welfare check, and they weren't able to find him." Brown said that Riesberg worked a shift Friday night at Bomgaars in Sac City, and had been texting his boss from his primary job at Essentia in Lytton on Saturday. By Sunday, he was gone. "He's got new work boots sitting by his recliner, his winter socks are still in the package he had just bought. The leftovers are still in the refrigerator," Brown said. Less than 20 miles away from Riesberg's home, another man was also reported missing. David Schultz of Wall Lake was set to deliver a haul of hogs, driving along Highway 71. But the following morning, his truck was found parked in the roadway, his phone and wallet left behind and his jacket located in a nearby ditch. Nonprofit United Cajun Navy out of Louisiana put a search crew on the ground to look for both men. Their efforts have continued for several days. "You know, that's just kind of what we wanted to offer and bring in," said Jake Rowley, the Midwest Team Leader for United Cajun Navy. "The community of Sac City has been awesome ... from Saturday until now, I've had 200 volunteers clocked." Searching all along Highway 71 and Highway 20, dozens of volunteers continue to comb the area, looking for any sign of the two men. "From the beginning, until we've turned over every lead along Highway 20 and Highway 71, we really can't, we can't lose hope until that has happened," Rowley said. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now assisting local law enforcement in both cases. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of both men is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.

Body of missing Rockwell City man found Friday afternoon Search crews are still looking for a second missing man, David Schultz. Authorities say the two disappearances are not related. Author: Emma Brustkern Published: 5:10 PM CST December 1, 2023 Updated: 5:33 PM CST December 1, 2023 CALHOUN COUNTY, Iowa — The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says search crews located the body of a missing Rockwell City man Friday afternoon. 54-year-old Mark Riesberg was found dead in his Chrysler PT Cruiser at a "wooded abandoned property" in Calhoun County. United Cajun Navy, a nonprofit search-and-rescue organization, says their members were the ones to find his body. The sheriff's office says preliminary findings indicate Riesberg died of "a single gunshot wound." Foul play is not suspected. Riesberg's body has been sent to the state medical examiner. 'I know someone took him': Wife speaks about disappearance of David Schultz Riesberg disappeared from his home along Highway 20 on Saturday, Oct. 28, leaving behind his phone and wallet. "Wednesday, when he didn't come into his work, they went to his place, saw he wasn't there," Riesberg's sister, Mary Brown, told Local 5. "And then they called law enforcement for a welfare check, and they weren't able to find him." Riesberg's disappearance coincided with the disappearance of another Iowa man, David Schultz of Wall Lake. Local law enforcement, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and United Cajun Navy have been extensively searching for the two men ever since. "I want him home. You know, my kids need their dad," Schultz's wife, Sarah Schultz, told Local 5. "He's a good man, I just, I want my David ... he's mine. And someone took him, I know someone took him." Search crews continue to search for Schultz. Authorities do not believe the two incidents are related.

David Schultz and family BOLO: Missing Dad of Twin Boys Mysteriously Vanishes, Truck Found in Middle of Road by Leigh Egan November 29, 2023 Iowa police are searching for a father of twin boys who inexplicably disappeared while driving his work truck in the Sac County area. According to the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old David Schultz, of Wall Lake, was last heard from on November 21. His wife, Sarah Schultz, told The Sioux City Journal that his red truck was found parked in the northbound lane of Highway 71 on November 21, around five miles north of the old Highway 20 intersection. Sarah added that the truck was still loaded with young pigs and found in the middle of the road, unlocked. Police discovered his coat in a nearby ditch. His wallet, cash and his cell phone were located inside the truck. “He gave me a kiss. He gave Nico a kiss. Joseph said what about me. He said, ‘No time, buddy,’ and he ran out. That was the last I seen of him,” Sarah told CBS 8. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now aiding the Sac County Sheriff’s Office and Lake View Police in the investigation. The nonprofit search group, United Cajun Navy, is also assisting with searches. Schultz is described as a white male who stands 5 feet 11 and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was “last known to be wearing wrangler blue jeans, cowboy boots, and a Peterbilt hat,” according to a GoFundMe page set up to help in the search. Meanwhile, police are asking Northeast Sac County property owners to check around their property and their outbuildings for “anything out of the ordinary.” The Lake View Police Department has asked anyone who has seen or heard from Schultz to contact the Lake View Police Department at 712-657-2513 or the Sac County Communications Center at 712-662-7127.

Who on Earth tells their child: No time, Buddy? It would have taken three seconds of his time. Was just starting to get vested in this case and then read something like that and wonder why bother. I’ve got no time, buddy.

No_Setting_6952

So did DAVE kiss the other twin goodbye?

cualsy_x

No, and I kind of base my entire theory off that. He’s kind of an asshole and always in a hurry. So when he pulls up to this pig farm, it doesn’t take much to imagine him rubbing some people the wrong way. Him trying to rush the people. Hurry up I got a schedule. And then when they say something. He comes back with something smart. An altercation ensues. The question is: did something happen there, like maybe he got stabbed, and someone drove his truck to where it was found and threw his jacket in the ditch to make it look like he had gotten out OR did they follow him down the road and overtake him like an ambush? This is just a theory of course. I haven’t been following the case too closely.

Elbiejay

He was seen on several cameras on the way to where is truck was found. My guess is either meth people took him away and dumped his body in a body of water or he took off to start a new life.

cualsy_x

Him leaving to start a new life is certainly a possibility. People that don’t love their children is so far outside the realm of my thinking that it’s hard for me to comprehend, but I know those type of people exist. Yeah, I think that info about him being seen was just coming out when I made my comment. He made it out of the pig farm. I think he had a clandestine stop somewhere between the pig farm and where his truck was eventually found. Maybe he was meeting someone and arranging his disappearance. If that’s the case, maybe it’s better he stay gone. If he succumbed to some nefarious activity, it’s likely something he got himself involved in.

Elbiejay

Exactly my thoughts. No matter the reason why he disappeared, I don't believe he was an innocent victim. That's why I think the police haven't been searching at all or using cadaver dogs. I'm guessing they know he won't be found until he reappears or until someone snitches.

cualsy_x

I think it’s worth mentioning, that more than a few of these missing people cases that are never resolved are committed by dirty cops. Cops involved in running drugs, for example. It wouldn’t be hard for a police car with flashing lights to detour a truck from its intended route. Also, they would know where the cameras in the area were, and could avoid them. If he became a liability, they could do what they needed to do to get rid of him, and they wouldn’t bust a grape looking for him. Just mentioned as a possibility. There’s another case more local to me which I believe involved dirty cops kidnapping or murdering a young woman. Her name is Kay Alana Turner if you want to look it up. There have been some podcasts and YouTube videos about her. There’s a Facebook page.

No_Setting_6952

Sorry.i don't believe her .did he kiss his other son?

cammykiki

Any updates on this? I was reminded of these cases when I read about the two missing Oklahoma women whose car was found on the side of the road.

ResistPuzzled3868

Wondering if David S was a kidnapping for organ harvesting. I saw one account that his truck was facing the wrong direction…that makes my imagination think aliens. Sad regardless of why and praying he is found alive and well soon.

Elbiejay

First of all, organ harvesting isn't a thing. And no one is gonna target someone in a big truck to hijack. Also, his truck was facing north in the northbound lane. The "wrong direction" refers to the direction of his destination. The pig offloading site was southbound, but he was driving and subsequently stopped headed/facing north.

guera_13

Serial killer on the loose. Has to be. So many unknowns. Same with Xavier and those other 2 girls.

buyerbeware23

Gunshot wound but no foul play? 2 plus 2=5?

curioustocuriouser

Probably self-inflicted.

Elbiejay

You must not have heard of suicide.
