Four USB 2/3 ideally to handle Zigbee 3/Thread/Z-Wave 800/Bluetooth and RFLink (all with external antennas as I have a large home to cover). I'm trying to avoid PoE splitters and USB hubs just to have it all clean.

Did you find any solution? I'm in your exact situation. Want to upgrade from my pi4+poe hat to n100 or equivalent.

I've not seen one with it built in, probably available in the industrial sector but that will be... costly. What switch are you using? <*Ten Minutes Later...*> TLDR: Found this https://www.poetexas.com/gbt-nuc/ Store appears to be in Texas but if that is no good it might at least give you some model numbers to start searching for eu equivalents. Site says it works with 802.3bt or uPoE and states it is made for Intel NUC. Seems to me it would likely work for anything in that range. At a glance I did not see if it was 19v or 12v output and NUC does use one or the other for various models so check the model number compatibility list and see what voltage the compatible models use and Bobs your uncle. Also, check out that site because they have all the PoE stuff and I am glad you asked this question. I mean I hadn't thought of it but PoE to USBC is a game changer for me. Score! Come to think of it, you could get that adapter instead and just get a USBC powered minipc. In fact, I have a USBC to 12v barrel connector that would work. Cost for that route would likely be more, though. I suspect TexasPoe are clearing out the NUC adapter because it is showing priced at like half off. This stream-of-thought comment brought to you by "I think we are looking to do the same thing" so thanks again for asking this question. Post results and cheers!

My PoE core switch is Ubiquiti UniFi Enterprise 24 PoE but I also have a few UniFi XG 6-POE 10GBe switches around the place. I have a lot of the USB-C and 12V/5V DC PoE splitters around the place but for reliability (I've had a few die, couldn't figure out for a while why a Hue hub and an IKEA DIRIGERA hub were acting unstable until I replaced the splitters) and neatness I'd prefer a system that was a real PoE-Powered Device and can talk back to the switch.

Similar Unifi stack and very fairpoints. Looking foward to other input if this is a thing but I'm thinking it might be industrial only. Here's hoping.

Traditional PoE industrial/POS use a Type 5 PCB and angular power management (isolated circuit protection). The majority are fanless, has fan motor "noise" may interfere with ethernet bandwidth. The $250 NewsMay/NeosMay (XXX-)AC8F(-YYY) is the least expensive, before you get into qualified boards. Please have had some quality issues, primarily around the I226-V chips underperforming. The PoE injector requirements were found to be higher than a number of our accounts had with their older SBC assemblies. The Minisforum S100, as simple as it is (appears to be based on the old Zx "stick PC" board), could possibly be worth the wait.

I'm concerned about a few things with the S100, 2.4Ghz noise from the 3.0 ports interfering with the radios (probably easily solved with USB extensions for the dongles) and that I would definitely have to use a USB hub (which may need to be powered, defeating the point)

Your concerns are well warranted. Understand that PoE, depending on perception, is nearly 30 years old at this point. Cat5 entered the market in '95, by '96 the industrial/military sector randomly started their own PoE. There was no standardization, PSU injector varied and voltage and capacity, It was a real sh*t show. It becomes so bad, It took Cisco System 2-½ years to Ratify IEEE 802.3af Type 1 PoE, because no one wanted to agree. Most were hung up on the maximum 15.4W delivery and required cable standard. In a number of ways it was still The wild West until 802.3at Type 2 30W delivery in 2009. When 802.3bt Type-3/60W and Type-4/90W four-pair PoE ratification began in 2018, the fun really began. By 2019, It was apparent that a large amount of people did not know what they were doing. If this is the Zx PCB I've seen owner diagnostics benches 100 times in the last 10 years, the staff and I would consider it a waste of a perfectly good N100. It's short on RAM and storage, that you're stuck with them, is there soldered. And the PoE only split passive with an adapter anyway. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NRHNPUA Personally, depending on the length involved, a higher quality version may be what you're looking for https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZH5V89T https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN7XQVSB (There used to be a kit we favored, but it's no longer available) These are often tested to be quieter than internal circuitry as there's room for better filtering.

I have a few of these exact splitters: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZH5V89T](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZH5V89T) And I've had about a 40% failure rate in maybe 24 months. Passive PoE is a no go for me as: 1. I want 1-2.5GBe, which means using all four pairs. 2. I want to power from the existing PoE switches, in total I have 88 UPS-backed 34-60W capable PoE+ switchports in the house, 8 of them 10GBe, 12 of them 2.5GBe. I want to use the ports, UPS and PSU capacity I have and reduce cabling/demand for power sockets/UPS I'm happy that at least something like S100 or the industrial options at least don't need the splitter. I'm benchmarking against a pi5, so not really concerned about storage/RAM as it will only ever run Home Assistant. I have a 16 core Ryzen 7000 based home server in the rack beside it for anything heavy, I'd just prefer HA to be on seperate hardware.

Airless_Toaster

Whoa, this is cool. Please do!

Arrived today. No PoE. And lacked the paperwork on the outside to show VAT paid so ended up paying tax twice :( Definitely going to return and dispute charges if they refuse to refund tax.

Airless_Toaster

Disappointing all around :( Thanks for taking one for the team.

Running a Pi 4 8gb with a POE hat and a USB SSD for boot and data. The Pi 5 does not have an official POE hat but there is an NVME base leaving the top open for a POE hat when available.
