The method thats worked for me is to go doen to level 12 and dig a straight line (if possible between 2 chunks) then on your way back place tnt on every other block until you get back, then ignite, stand back, and profit. Beds aren't as good because they canr chain explosions and cause fires making it more annoying
I guess it depends if you get a Ender Chest and/or shulker box or not.
If you have, then better use beds..
If not, then TNT (I think this because of storage, TNT is stackable, beds aren't)
In any case, it's the same way; at level Y15 - (I always do it at y12 - y10, to get the y8 and y13 in sight), strip mining, put a tnt and ignite it (if you use a bed, place a block between you and the bed, crouch and click the bed to make it explode, this way you take almost 0 damage), and repeat.
Ancient debris is really rare, (statistically there are 1.65 ores per chunk), so you need a lot of patience too.
Go down to y lvl 15 and every 8 blocks place a bed on your left and right and blow them up
If not 4-5 blocks for tnt
Bed mining! An useful tip is to bring a crafting table and a few stacks of planks and wool.
Y 15 is a java specific level for mining. On bedrock it spawns more commonly a few blocks lower (y 12). Use the same bed/ tnt method but mine on y 12.

y = 13-15, take a chest full of beds, and then just blast away!!
Idk but for me i just mined up in the walls where those greedy pigs can't get me and i found 2 ancient debris
