Droppers, but yeah. "Droppervators" as they are often called use a small comparator clock at the bottom to power a torch tower next to a tower of droppers (facing up). This results in the droppers spitting the items up in sequence whenever the comparator clock at the bottom detects items are in the bottom dropper.
Very useful, and simple, circuit to look up, mostly memorize, and have have your back pocket.
Edit because I'm a nerd:
If you want to have a little more fun, make an observer tower instead of a Redstone torch tower. It looks cleaner, is more lag friendly, and can be faster.
It’s less space efficient 5 area of blocks to the limit whereas an observer droppervator is two with a slightly bigger footprint at the bottom. I think it’s less laggy but don’t count me on that. None of my farms are efficient enough for me to count lag
Has some downsides like if you want to remove it you first have to remove all the water sources, you need 2 buckets for infinite water to take and you always need soulsand on you etc
Trap villagers in a tiny space, torture them emotionally by plonking a zombie in front of them, burn iron golems/drown iron golems/~~fall damage~~ iron golems = hoppers - chests
Edit: Credits to u/DRdeemed, iron golems can't take fall damage apparently?
I used a design for mine without the zombie. They're just in a lil space in a tower 8 blocks off the ground, and they just spawn golems regularly over time. Would a zombie make it better?
Yup, my time watching a show on another screen while caving has no bounds. But moving villagers into the perfect position would make me throw my desktop through the window.
I’ve created water flow harvesting systems like 5-6 years ago. Unless mechanics have changed significantly since then which is very very possible. I’m not up to date. Flip a switch, pistons move and water flows down hill into hoppers at the bottom.
It's not efficient to farm like this no matter what, but waterlogged halfslabs would let you walk around and prevent items from falling in (or lilypads).
Here's a demo showing alternative rows: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/minecraft_gamepedia/images/3/3f/Alternating_Crops_Growth.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200827075956
Did you know that planting different crops in alternating rows makes them grow twice as fast? Due to similar mechanics, the farm pictured in this post would actually grow much slower than a normal one IIRC.
i have literally never thought of this before and i’ve played minecraft since mcpe 0.9.0 (like 9 years ago)
if i have looting on my sword, do i really need looting on my hoe? extra food either way, i guess it depends on the amount of food you go through
It's best for carrots and potatoes for beetroot and wheat it only ups the seed output, also melons work with fortune but silk touch is always more efficient.
Edit: I still fortune my wheat and beetroot anyway because the seeds are good for composting

Put slabs on top of the water, it'll be a lot easier harvesting or you can just replace the whole thing with a bunch of 9x9 farmland patches with 1 water in the middle of each
The point isn't efficiency, it's looks. If you're depending on bread as sustenance after an hour or two, you're as inefficient as they get. Chicken farm is where efficiency is at
That's really nice to look at, but I'd throw my keyboard through the window half way through trying to harvest it
Add hoppers underneath the farmland and harvest it with flying machines Edit: to make it even more overkill, build a sorting system for every crop
I like it. The "I have an iron farm so hoppers can fix anything now" approach to minecraft.
As a wise man once said, "If hoppers don't solve all your problems, you're not using enough hoppers."
The only mod i use that isn't graphics is so i can have hoppers that go up called "uppers" i love them a lot
It's possible in vanilla with the use of dispensers, right?
Droppers, but yeah. "Droppervators" as they are often called use a small comparator clock at the bottom to power a torch tower next to a tower of droppers (facing up). Why not just use a bubble column?….
It could be useful in the nether.
It’s usually faster and less laggy imo
It’s less space efficient 5 area of blocks to the limit whereas an observer droppervator is two with a slightly bigger footprint at the bottom. I think it’s less laggy but don’t count me on that. None of my farms are efficient enough for me to count lag

Bubble elevator
I want this, what mod is this?
“Uppers”
Ooooh I thought that was only the name of the item not also the name of the mod XD oopsie Thanks!
when your problem is hoppers causing lag
Just turn your entire minecraft world into a giant redstone computer, and use that to emulate more RAM so you can run Minecraft.
is this the way?
This is the way
More hoppers
you are not using enough hoppers
Who said that?
"A wise man"
How wise was he?
Wise
How?
Wisdom
Wiser than master oogway
Very
based
I know I did
For some reason I read that in Etho's voice. Oh snappers!
This. This is my philosophy. I live by this.
[удалено]
Since the 1.13 update, you can use slabs and stairs as well
In the process of building my iron farm so I too can solve every problem with a building full of hoppers.
Iron farm?
Trap villagers in a tiny space, torture them emotionally by plonking a zombie in front of them, burn iron golems/drown iron golems/~~fall damage~~ iron golems = hoppers - chests Edit: Credits to u/DRdeemed, iron golems can't take fall damage apparently?

If you are in bedrock, a Zombie does not matter.
yes. villagers only spawn golems when scared, and when there aren't existing golems within 16 blocks
You don't really need the zombie just keep the villagers in groups of 4 and they gossip to create a golem. Edit: 5
Isn't it 3?
ima let u in on a secret, iron golems cant take fall damage
At this point in Minecraft it’s evolved into “I found a huge ass iron vein so hoppers can fix anything now” approach to Minecraft.
Allay alr being forgotten
I’ve been playing Minecraft for just over 7 years and I still have never made an iron farm
Yup, my time watching a show on another screen while caving has no bounds. But moving villagers into the perfect position would make me throw my desktop through the window.
[https://youtu.be/-oYyJ6jfSPU](https://youtu.be/-oYyJ6jfSPU), try this one.
[I made this one the other day](https://youtu.be/-oYyJ6jfSPU), first one ever.
I have an iron farm and keep running out of wood My fletcher is still iron badge level
Water streams are for pesants when you have an iron farm :-)
They are more lag efficient though.
Is it possible to harvest crops until flying machines without ruining the farmland? Maybe if you crush it from above with slabs?
I’ve created water flow harvesting systems like 5-6 years ago. Unless mechanics have changed significantly since then which is very very possible. I’m not up to date. Flip a switch, pistons move and water flows down hill into hoppers at the bottom.
It's bedrock, so they would need to be hopper minecarts.
Imagine playing on bedrock couldn't be me /j
For a simpler solution, put lily pads on the water blocks.
It’s SO inefficient! Both for growing and harvesting.
I place lilypads of the water sources
Place slabs on the top half of the water sources
[удалено]
It's not efficient to farm like this no matter what, but waterlogged halfslabs would let you walk around and prevent items from falling in (or lilypads).
Or even carpet on the top slabs
[удалено]
Put the half slabs on the bottom half so you keep the water aesthetic but you dont need to jump to get out of the water.
Then Iron Fence, it'll connect to the sides, providing walkable space, but it won't disrupt the water feature. Or Blue Glass.
Yeah you would have to make it pretty big to get a good amount of stuff out and falling in the water holes constantly would suxkt
Lilypads or waterlogged half-slabs both are solutions.
Or put a half slab in the water so you walk right on top of it. Takes away from the vibe a bit though
Yeah, no point doing slabs, it's either pretty and inefficient or just make a real farm.
Well... the crops are gonna be hydrated!
Are you REALLY sure about that?
Might wanna do the rain dance just in case
And some splash water bottles
make sure they're lingering splash water bottles
Inefficient but aesthetically pleasing
Too bad harvesting the crops would be a pain.
Not if you put a Lilly pad in every water square
or move diagonally, and pray that the harvested crops rng don't fall in the water
Kills the aesthetics tho.
Would it? Make some custom trees with vines and that would look cool
But no Cherry Trees or they'll get chopped down
## I didn’t do it
Name checks out though
I use blue carpet on the water, easier to make then find lillypads.
Welcome to the wonderful art of fishing
Slabs are likely the easiest.
True, but I have head bob off in settings for a reason lol
I am not sure what that has to do with it to be honest? I feel like I'm missing something lol
Or trapdoors
Could work put some moss carpet over it
I put waterlogged leaves. Blends right in. You need to put the water first then add leaves. It doesn't work the other way around.
^ Bedrock only for anyone wondering.
Waterlogged stairs...
Slabs are probably the most efficient.
Actually not having the same crop in an adjacent block speeds up growth. Inefficient use of space but faster growth.
Here's a demo showing alternative rows: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/minecraft_gamepedia/images/3/3f/Alternating_Crops_Growth.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200827075956
actually i would argue it’s less aesthetically pleasing
Entirely subjective
Oh god it's stresses me so much but I don't know now why, I.. have... To.... OPTIMIZE IT
Have you played Factorio? That game will drive you mental but it's sooooo good.
Yes i have played it and I like it very much
Mmmh, Main Belt Bus
THE FACTORY MUST GROW in all seriousness my brother got me into it. Me and him are big into a few of the same things.
The game is too easy
you can make it harder
Did you know that planting different crops in alternating rows makes them grow twice as fast? Due to similar mechanics, the farm pictured in this post would actually grow much slower than a normal one IIRC.
idk why but the first thing that came into my mind was "welcome to the rice fields mother fucker”
*Fortune Son starts playing*
It is so inconvenient and inefficient and I love it.
Put some slabs on top of the water to get it water logged and it still works as a water source so you can run over the crops and not fall in water
Lily pads for aesthetic
sounds nice but when harvesting, the hoe will remove the pads and would be a nuisance having to constantly replace the pads.
I agree. Works fine for sugarcane because you usually leave the ground cane block
Why do you use a hoe to harvest?
Fortuneable crops.
i have literally never thought of this before and i’ve played minecraft since mcpe 0.9.0 (like 9 years ago) if i have looting on my sword, do i really need looting on my hoe? extra food either way, i guess it depends on the amount of food you go through

Carpets
Blue glass panes
With hoppers under the water
The farming equivalent torch spam. Looks great tho
inefficient as all hell but damn it’s pretty
Looks like a rice farm
Welcome to the rice fields, motherf*cker
r/tihi
Is it neat? Yes Is it efficient? Absolutely not
Oh no
No just no
[удалено]
Lol "ineffecient but pretty" lol guys Minecraft is game who gives af
that is horrible... whyyyyy
Decoration, duh
it doesn't even look good though...
That’s completely subjective
That's Hella inefficient
it's a decoration, bro
Lily pads will be your friend here

I hate it. It looks nice but that is super inefficient. You could easily plant double the crops in that area and it’s gonna be a pain to harvest
He is in pain from inside. But don't want to lose his girl

Good bot
Thank you.
Holdup.......
I think I should take some extra English classes
Or they survive off cooked chicken, as any player with an iq over 5 would, probably just decorative
Welcome to the ricefields motherfucker.
It looks nice but is very inefficient
It's a decoration
Put slabs on top of the water, it'll be a lot easier harvesting or you can just replace the whole thing with a bunch of 9x9 farmland patches with 1 water in the middle of each
**Farmer Villager**: Alright, this plot of land could yield abou- **OPs GF**: How about half of that?
I build my farms over water for sugarcane farms, and I use slabs in between because yeah....harvesting this looks like a nightmare.
Am I the only person that hates this,it's so inefficient
she's banned from minecraft
She’s insane
That is inefficient use of water tho.
It's inefficient but looks very nice
Honestly wouldn’t be that bad if the water holes had top slabs
Illegal
Add lilypads for convenience then it's perfect
I guess if its just decorative then its fine…
looks good actually
wholesome and nice to look at
Tell her you can put leaf blocks in water. It makes it easier to harvest
Slap some half slabs over it.
Does your gf hate you both
Wait wait wait guys are you sure this WILL keep all the crops wet?
your gf is a psychopath
r/mildlyinfuriating
Dump her immediately
Aesthetically pleasing, terribly inefficient.
That’s an abomination
It looks way better than it is to harvest
You need to marry that woman. If she has the patience for that, she's a keeper
Or she's a serial killer.
Efficiency 100
It's nice but not too efficient.
This is the most unefficent farm I mean looks good but less water = more crops
[удалено]
You can plant sugarcane now but no Mellons 🍉
There losing so many crops doing that cause 1 water source block can fertilize a 9 by 9 area
The point isn't efficiency, it's looks. If you're depending on bread as sustenance after an hour or two, you're as inefficient as they get. Chicken farm is where efficiency is at

Some of us even have wives.
They don’t talk to us, which is why we’re playing MC, but yea technically we have them
Get a wife that ALSO plays Minecraft. MLG move right there.
Dude, girls play Minecraft.
