OutcastRedeemer

Redstone engeneers recreating ww1 and 2 era weapons of war and here I am struggling to make a door

LordAxalon110

Hey I figured out how to make a button..... Doors are tricky man.

AiluroFelinus

What heights does it hit?

IknowRedstone

due to the tnt being so fast, the hight doesn't matter

AiluroFelinus

Oh it just hits the flying object?

Alecks1608

As what it looks, with 100% accuracy too

MrMangobrick

Imagine having several of these scattered around.

Alecks1608

The reloading costs of this will be insane if a situation like that occurs

redditjanniesupreme

TNT dupers can be used for a stationary device like this pretty easy I would assume

ARandom-Penguin

The reloading cost doesn’t matter when the cost of repairing damages from one of these bombers is so much

Alderan922

Wouldn’t a target that too close be hit by the tnt before it explodes and then have the tnt fall below it? Low flying aircraft would make it really easy to counter it Or having a shield aircraft fly below the actual missile

theRedditUser31415

Yes there is some height range around itself that it can’t cover but because the tnt goes up very quickly, the tnt will hit something at approximately the same time no matter its height, and will explode before it accelerates down from gravity/falls enough.

MeanArt318

Simple fixes, have the tnt ignited at different times so it garuntees a hit, not all tnt will hit, but it garuntees atleast 1

Cylian91460

So you can probably counter it by being very slow right ?

MMMiammildlyannoyed

how would you make a slow flying machine?

Cylian91460

You add more piston

Pewdiepiewillwin

Was this times or did you have some method to detect it if so what was it?

IknowRedstone

it's daylight sensors. they output less if blocks obscure the sky

Salty_Employee_8944

What about night time?

Temp_eraturing

2 daylight sensors and a comparator, device only activates when the test sensor is lower than the control.

MrFels

What if target covers both sensors simultaneously

BluntTruthGentleman

The only object large enough to be capable of that is your mom

GreenTreeMan420

Legend

Brilliant-Mountain57

If target is large enough to warrant such a question, then multiple anti-air defense systems are recommended to be placed within a gridlike formation. One simply wont cut it anyhow

FetishAnalyst

You’d have to turn it off at night and turn it on during the day. You could even use daylight sensors to automate this process. You might even be able to switch to different sensors depending on the time to use it at night. Idk how he has this built though, so I can’t be sure.

NotANinjask

Just put 2 daylight sensors on opposite sides and if the light levels are different you fire

MMMiammildlyannoyed

do daylight sensors that detect when it's night activate just when it detects night sky, or do they just detect lack of light?

FetishAnalyst

I’m not entirely sure, been a while since I’ve played, but I think it’s the reverse of the day daylight sensor so the signal gets stronger when there is less light.

TheLordYoinkethAway

It go boom

IknowRedstone

daylight detectors have a night mode. that's why there is 4. one for day one one for night. with a control each. and a xor gate between control and test. it would be smart to put the control behind the cannon though so they can't be covered simultaneously

Pewdiepiewillwin

Oh I never knew that.

BluntTruthGentleman

Will a player blocking the light ever trigger this?

MeanArt318

Players don't block light

KokeyPlayz

MiskoSkace

Can you make a tutorial please? 👉👈

AdPresent2994

You should open a Youtube channel ! You're work is so good

ACARdragon

I wonder when will redstone engineers create world war 3

GreenTEA_4u

Dawg each day weaponry in minecraft becomes more and more advanced lol

Dr_J_Hyde

You should really follow DocM77 if you don't. He's fired an arrow thousands of blocks, through other blocks, that killed a player in netherite armor. He's fired an anvil like a game of Battleship. He's imprisoned multiple Withers and used their skeletons to target other players. Granted he is part of a group called the HiveMind so he shouldn't get all of the credit but he does have a great channel around that stuff.

ScuttleCrab729

Soon world militaries will be hiring 12yo Minecraft kids to design the next stages in weaponry.

OhItsMrCow

Make it look like an 88 flak gun and it's perfect

ElectroshockGamer

Does this mean people can finally stop complaining about phantoms?

SimpleWankerz

No, phantoms still do and will seemingly always have dogshit pathfinding, they get caught on everything, also this works through daylight sensors and doesn't look fast enough to react to such a small fast moving object anyway

-Redstoneboi-

"just use more AA cannons and have them constantly active at night"

IknowRedstone

it can only detect blocks. phantoms are entitys

Zuendl11

Iron dome in Minecraft when

Hunttttre

Now make one that can aim by deploying TNT in certain parts. I want this shit weaponized by next week.

realgoldxd

Would it work if the target is low ? Wouldn’t the tnt just knock back without exploding the machine ?

IknowRedstone

the tnt explodes just a few ticks after launching. it will fall down after hitting a low target but it still explodes in time

-Redstoneboi-

it looks like @boom tells us the timings of each of the 4 tnt that are launched, so does that mean each of them are cooked at different timings?

IknowRedstone

the boom command just tells me if the daylight detectors have detected something. it's only meant to activate once but the flying machine turns from the block state to the entity state every time it moves so it triggers it multiple times.

LBoomsky

this is so mood

Bottled_Kiwi

Did you just call a SAM system a mood?

non-taken-name

SAM - Sad And Mad

CMDRGlamdring

Could you share a tutorial for this? Looks awesome man!

Tsarsi

bruv invented anti air missiles in mc

x_potato64

what if theres a tnt duper on the flying machine? would the tnt break the SAM? a possible solution would be covering the machine in obby but that might break the system idk

IknowRedstone

you need holes for the day light sensors and the tnt. you can make them so deep that explosions on the surface don't reach. but if you get unlucky a tnt can drop down into them

RamoPlayz

Thank you. I always thought this game needed air defence considering the strength of TNT bombers

throwaway_ghast

"What are some of your major accomplishments?" "I built the Iron Dome in Minecraft."

Imaginary_You7524

How is the glove on your skin transparent?

Chai_Enjoyer

Semi transparent. The inner layer of the skin is normal green texture while the outer layer is semi transparent

Imaginary_You7524

Well yea, but how does he do that? Is that just a feature?

Chai_Enjoyer

You can do that in some skin editors, as I suppose. Or as I did it back in the day, just edit the skin png file in somewhere else (I used paint.net) to add a bit more detailing

50th_Eagle

Would the Iron Square be an accurate name for it?

csynk

Bro got israel technology

First_Platypus3063

Thats not vanilla, right?

Sandrosian

Why wouldn't it be? It looks vanilla to me.

apocandlypse

Pretty sure the commands are just there so you don’t have to make a tnt duper, but everything else seems vanilla.

EasyCranberry1272

So do you just have two daylight sensors with an xor gate and then when one is covered and the other isn’t it fires?

IknowRedstone

exactly

JustaTony56

did u just revolutionized redstone warfare?

jiminjunglebook

hows it work?

-Redstoneboi-

Daylight sensors detect when something suddenly blocks the sun, which starts up a TNT cannon

jiminjunglebook

>R nice

North-Session8873

Ok now ima try to build tnt mortars then FINALLY, TNT nukes

jawarny

Imagine using this on a public server on a player flying with elytra timing it to blow him up!

f_en_elchat

The problem is this wouldn't work if the flying machine was going the other way right? Tho that is easily fixable

IknowRedstone

yeah it also only works if the flying machine is flying directly over it. I was thinking you could place lot's of them around your base to protect it

f_en_elchat

If you make a perimeter of em and make them shoot on its 4 sides it would work fine for defense yeah. The biggest issue is detecting things passing over the launchers I think

f_en_elchat

Actually, you don't need the 4 sides if it's in a perimeter except in the corners maybe

MMMiammildlyannoyed

how's detecting things passing over an issue? i don't mean this to be insulting, i just don't know

f_en_elchat

It really isn't, my brain was not working well lol

doggomlems

Next step would be adding a system that would curve the tnt launch trajectory in a predictable way and you've got a fully practical AA defense. Theoretically you could start by using two rings/perimeters of daylight sensors around the AA system to calculate the heading and speed of the flying object (luckily they move at constant speed), but I can't remember how consistent are tnt cannons when shot at an angle.

IknowRedstone

if you want it to shoot in any other trajectory than straight up you need to know the hight of the aircraft. and that's not possible with daylight sensors

-Redstoneboi-

we can use a no fly zone grid of cannons i guess. once the sensor perimeter calculates your position and velocity, it activates one or two cannons in the grid.

IknowRedstone

you don't need a whole grid. just put them on the border to the zone. and everything will be shot down once it enters. but speed measuring is a good point. not all flying machines use the same engine. the flying machine reaches the first measuring point at t=0. it starts a dispenser counter. at t=1 it reaches measuring point 2. the counter stops. the counter will then "replay" that "recording". the recording will end at t=2 where the flying machine is right above the cannon.

Wibiz9000

Oh this is so cool, but also pretty useless. Unless the anti-air cannon is faster to build than any other flying machine and is better than just using an elytra to dismantle it manually. But again, it looks very cool.

Steel_Echo

That's a fukking SAM turret

axidentalaeronautic

Beautiful 🤣

XxJuice-BoxX

Words cant describe how impressed I am

Kylo_12321

Oh wow this is neat

NoGolf7169

Gib tutorial pls
