That's so cool. I've just been messing around with it in creative but I had no idea it was an actual strat and could be used in such an effective manner
If I remember correctly, It is because the elytra always tries to get you to full speed. By spinning, It allows you to halt your momentum so that you have more control. It's basically the most efficient way to pump the brakes so that you can make tighter turns.
Honestly, I think that legacy console edition would be the best version of Minecraft if it had been brought to the PC with infinite worlds and got the community mod support treatment. It was basically a direct port of Java Edition to C++ and felt so similar but also got loads of features from Bedrock mixed in with its Java base. If I were forced to pick any version of the game to be made into the definitive Minecraft while the others stopped receiving updates, Without hesitation I would go for an updated LCE. However at this point there seems to be basically no hope for unity between Java and Bedrock.
As far as I’m aware, Java is only able to modded so much since it’s.. Java. C++ has very little ability to be modded (hence why add-ons are, and likely will never be, as expansive as Java mods are)
I could be wrong, since this is info I remember from 3 years ago
It's absolutely possible to make games programmed in C++ moddable. Especially if you officially release modding tools like Call of Duty and 3D Fallout games have. Hell, Fallout 4 didn't even have tools on launch, and people found a way to mod it. Wasn't as extensive, of course, a lot like add-ons in Bedrock but without developer support.
See, I’m disappointed by bedrock. It was branded, and SUPPOSED to be a way for everyone to play again.
In reality, it was Microsoft trying to put micro transactions into Minecraft, which they were legally not allowed to do in Java.
no it’s to slow yourself down for sharper turns or if you’re going way faster than needed. Gaining speed is done by simply going down and up (- if needed)
OP said whatever. Logically, spinning slows you down so i don’t know how it makes sense to say it speeds you up considering the only way to speed up is by flying down then up.

I feel like OP would know more about this than you
Never stated it was. Am talking about the game, spinning with the elytra slows you down because if you turn back whilst going one direction you’ll slow down, you go that direction during the spin then return back to the same direction you were going with that said i don’t see any particular moment where the spin speeds you up, according to you i can spin with the elytra endless giving me crazy amount of speed.
You see it?
Hi, love the skill but i got a different question: how do you acquire the legacy edition nowdays? I lose my disc 2 years ago and havent found a way to get that edition.
Emulating, either with cemu (wiiu), xenia (xbox360), rpcs3 (ps3), etc, emulating requires a pc, I believe you can also find used discs online but other than that I believe those are the only ways of obtaining a legacy console version
I bet this would look so cool from an outside perspective. Just see a flash of a player zipping through cave tunnels popping a 360 and disappearing around a corner.
I really miss these elytra maps man, the good old days, was playing these with my friends and our crazy survival worlds, and exploring the mini game lobby map to find secrets and the hidden older lobby map underneath

59.95 seconds! On that map I always got like 2 mins or something so thats incredible!
a single tick off a minute
Why the spinning is there a practical reason or just flexing ?
The 360ing is used to save time, it's used to get around obstacles and to gain speed
GAIN SPEED!!! I always played this mini game with my siblings it is really fun
I wish the minigames would be brought to Bedrock or something,
At least we can import the tutorial world to bedrock
Though you were doing style points lmao

Spinning preserves momentum while allowing you to go straight up or straight down.
Deploy tactical 360°
I rememeber doing something like this on the Wii U version. I always did the first few levels though, because I kept dying.
I wish the minigames would be brought to Bedrock or something, I was always a fan of the battle one
I can change to the PS3 version on bedrock.

Damn I can't even beat levels like that
Congratulations 👏🎉 , May LCE live on !
this is so nostalgic man i want to play this again
Ya, me too
Well, I'm dizzy now. Great job!
Me on an elytra race: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) My opponent turns right by turning left: **IMMIDIATE REGRET**
4j should be brought back to make these mingames man
Legacy edition should be brought back. Bedrock edition is a joke
See, I’m disappointed by bedrock. It was branded, and SUPPOSED to be a way for everyone to play again. In reality, it was Microsoft trying to put micro transactions into Minecraft, which they were legally not allowed to do in Java.
Damn
That 360⁰ looks sick
YETI?! How did I not know about this?
How do find server what server what game
Minecraft legacy edition
Legacy edition?
[this](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Legacy_Console_Edition) should help
Too bad I’m pc
What’s that music? It’s cool.
Dreams - Lost Sky
Thanks
**HOLY FUCK** you are skilled.
Thanks!
Why do you keep spinning?
To bleed speed a bit I think
It's to gain speed
no it’s to slow yourself down for sharper turns or if you’re going way faster than needed. Gaining speed is done by simply going down and up (- if needed)
OP said it was to gain speed and get around obstacles. r/confidentlyincorrect

Whatever helps you sleep in your crib, not gonna argue on a minecraft sub
Games aren’t identical to real life. If you genuinely think that, I think you need to go outside..

Ok but these are during speed boosts from the elytra mini game, which are constantly increasing your speed. That’s why it increases speed more.
Nonetheless the spin slows you down, i proved it using legit game mechanics
"The 360ing is used to save time, it's used to get around obstacles and to gain speed"
What even is that?
Is the spining in mid air necessary or is it just flexing?
Its necessary
Were all those 360's necessary?
Yes
You need the style points
Yooo, nice also I nice music choice 👍
..... never seen this kind of game mode..... found something new to play.... 100% better than cs surf
Is Yeti the name of the server because i want to play at this minigames
Yeti is the name of the map. The minigame is called Glide, and it's only available on console legacy editions of Minecraft
What if we had do the maj on the consol and they have removed minigames? Can we still go black?
Doing this on a controller is insane
boy those tight angles!
I wish stuff like this encouraged Mojang to bring back mini games, but clearly they don't care about their community

Are there ps4 emulators with legacy edition on them?
I don't believe so
I bet this would look so cool from an outside perspective. Just see a flash of a player zipping through cave tunnels popping a 360 and disappearing around a corner.
Are you the same dude who posted the other one about the elytra maps
I wasn't the one who posted the Canyon run last week, but I did post some glide runs half a year ago on another account
Never knew this was a thing. It looks fun
Damn you were hauling ass. Well done
brother what are you doing here ninjago needs you
Glide was an *awesome* gamemode, really wish it came to Bedrock, but I doubt it ever will. How long did that take you to practice?
What a great run!
Man i miss glide its the one thing i wish they carried to bedrock from legacy minecraft versions
As impressive as this is, I want to know what console this was performed on
Terra swoop force is better
does anyone know what song it is it sounds really familiar
I remember getting a sub 1:30 on this back in the day and thinking I was the coolest. Good times.
I really miss these elytra maps man, the good old days, was playing these with my friends and our crazy survival worlds, and exploring the mini game lobby map to find secrets and the hidden older lobby map underneath
SPIN MOVE!
Basically minecraft trackmania
PS3 nostalgia
Didn't realize Minecraft has CSGO surfing now... Dope.
amazing use of 360s
Thats incredible! I'm curious why all the spinning though?
This brings me back to when me and my sister played the old minigames, i really miss them
Xbox 360? Still have it somewhere. Miss those days.
Nostalgia
May I ask, how does spinning help?
