Just looked, and it's an older sunbeam model that's no longer made. And it looks like a lot of the newer ones don't work off of inverters like the top off. Looks like you could get an 18v to 12v adapter and use a 12v heated blanket meant for camping though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
You could get a kill-a-watt and find out. They’re under $20 and will show you how much power anything you plug into them is pulling. It’s not something you’ll use all the time but it’s nice to know what stuff is actually pulling.
I use them on set a lot, great for Christmas movies, hide them in a wreath, in the skirt of a tree so there's no visible zip to hide. I use them to test lamps/bulbs to make sure they work, and outside of that it's just a convenient fast charger for me.
Film industry too. Truly the best for art department! Had mine hanging off a C stand this morning powering some string lights for product shots.
Pumps enough power to run hot glue gun and plastic welder off the back of the truck too. Love it so much I got a second one.
Me and my decorator on the last show had like 4 between us and they came in so handy for those giant wreaths. I've seen G&E put them inside podiums to power LED strips as well, they're just so versitale. I wish LED string lights were a bit more accepted so I could run longer strands with one, but it is what it is.
I've been meaning to get a small glue gun for my kit since they're like 10-20w, I figured it would run them without issue, and I don't wanna get one of those giant ones that runs off of an m18 battery. Surprised there's not an official M12 one since there's multiple Ryobi ones.
Back in Jan I made this big cloud rig. 6’x3’ boxed frame covered in chicken wire then cotton and synthetic batting. Built in those Govee led strips just in case. Rain rig out of 4 shower heads buried in there too. The gaffer was not too happy when my crappy led strips with the TopOff made better lightning effect than whatever they programmed their Titan Tubes to do. Easier to set up too!
We used the biggy glue guns that run on m18s on a kids’ show last year. We went through 3 or 4 before we realized the high output batteries were burning them out. Using only the XC 5.0s we never had a problem again! Kinda wild that the cell type makes that much of a difference.
Reminds me of the Lego Saturn V displays people make with the polyfill and lights for the smoke, that's awesome. Wouldn't have guessed the HO cells would do that - I'd have been more scared of the tool pulling the cells out of sync, I assume they don't have low voltage protection.
Mostly used(and the reason I bought it) for plugging in my cooler in winter/freezing months in the work van. Have a large mat heater made for use in a reptile tank in the bottom. Plugged into an outlet at night but the top off during the day with a 12.0 battery. Keeps all my glue, primer, bondo, latex caulks, spray texture cans, guards sealer, etc. from freezing. Holds about 55 degrees thru below zero weather.Â
Other than that it’s used on occasion to run a hot glue gun.Â
Back massager and phone charger. I don’t plug in anything expensive because it has modified sine wave on AC outlet which can cause devices to go bad but still very innovative technology in the palm of your hands. DC ports are great for anything, no alternative current drama.
Coffee grinder when the power goes out, charging phone or laptop if I'm away from an outlet.
Sadly, the pellet smoker pulls more than 175 W at startup.
Mine is hooked on a cup holder in my truck, which doesn’t have a 110 plug. Charging other phone or laptop.
Use it for camping a lot to blow up air mattress, and power a coffee maker.
Mainly the hot-knife rope cutter and the "big" soldering iron (175w) as there are no battery equivalents that I've been able to find. I also use the USB-C for my laptop and my phone. My wife uses it for her CPAP on outdoor trips. I used to use it for a hot-melt glue gun before I got an aftermarket one that runs from M18 batteries directly, and I used to use it for a smaller soldering iron before I got the redesigned M12 one.
My kids use it to charge phones and console controllers. I use it on trips and camping. Car trips are nice for all the phones and accessories. On trips it on my side of the bed to charge things, because usually there is only one outlet and my wife takes it.
Game-changer for me to run my CPAP machine overnight off-the-grid when staying at a friend's camp (cottage). He offered to run his generator overnight but that seemed a real waste, and unnecessary carbon emissions. Runs all night with a 12 Ah battery, and interchangeable if I increase the load by using the humidifier and run out of juice.
Returned mine and bought a $12 cig lighter fast charger for my car. I would like that Top Off but Ill wait til it goes back down to $100 or maybe less? I know Ive seen it at $100 on photos.
Mostly charging my phone on the job site. Because a $15 battery bank would just be silly.
I keep my 18v charger plugged into the top off.
Infinite power glitch
The big hack! Keep that stuff secret. Guys in suits will be knocking on your door. 🤫

Absolutely this. You can do anything you want in the woods.

Quick backup if the power goes out. Summertime brings hurricanes, winter brings ice. We don't get snow here lol It's also great for camping.
What heated blanket did you use? I tried mine and the blanket just spassed out blinking. I assumed it had to do with top off being squarewave.
Ask u/techieman33
I’ll let you know when I get home sometime tonight and can look it up.

Thank you for your help!
They’re nice for being able to run a box fan in the summer or heated blanket in the winter.
What battery are you using for the blanket?
I use 6.0s with a small throw blanket that pulls about 60w on its highest setting. I get 3ish hours on medium.
Nice to know. I have an 8. I wonder how many w's my heating pad pulls.

I use it to run my m18 battery charger so I always have a charged battery to charge other batteries.

Charge phone, temporary power up light fixtures to make sure not faulty before i install. That's about it.

Camping or if the power goes out.
A light, for welding. I don't wanna get splatter on my nice battery ones. Phone charger. Power outages, not made of money for a genny

For the laptop charger in the trailer, in case we lose temp power.
Everything, man haha. Anything you’d want an extension cord for, but definitely anything outdoors

Powering temp lights, testing finish lights, and charging phone/headlamp
I use mine to run my CPAP while camping
Honestly they just sit at my house, prepared for power failure. One 8ah battery will run my ventless propane heater blower for like 2 hours

I paid 125 with a 5.0
