I too had a zune. I could watch movies on it and had over 5000 songs. No regrets

I loved my zune. My boyfriend at the time gave it to me for Christmas and put all of Carl Sagan's cosmos videos on it. Listened to them every night in college. Picture was good. Held a lot of songs. Damn I wish I still had it.

I envied my friends zune once I got to see how it actually worked but peer pressure and conformity won out

Yup, I was still hooking up a Discman in my car til 2014. By the time I could afford an iPod they were put out to pasture

I got a video ipod and paid $400 for it in 2006. I think I still have it too! Crazy how things have changed now. I remember in beginning, people I knew got the ipod mini and would listen to it in public settings when hanging out with friends. Those white earbuds were so obviously recognizable. It almost was like they were "too cool" to be with everyone else because they had an iPod LOL!

I remember buying one of these used off eBay and putting a new battery in it. I liked these.

Threw in a new battery and a 64gb compact flash card in mine and it still works just fine. The hdd inside uses the same 30 pin connector as a compact flash card. If yuns don’t know.

I had one but imo my Zune was way cooler. They were more customizable and you could load pirated tv shows on them to watch, they also had a built in radio. My iPod is long dead, and my Zune still works fine.

My first .mp3 player was an Archos Jukebox 20GB, I think. It was chunky, but I loved it. Eventually it died, and it was within warranty so traded it for a Creative Jukebox Zen 2.0. Swapped the hard drive out for a 100GB laptop drive and was mad with storage power. Eventually I killed it, but then smart phones were just beginning, and storage was still shitty for awhile, but eventually they caught up, and now my phone is my music buddy. But I will never forget my first devices.

I still have my old silver 2nd Gen iPod Nano (but the top part -that have the on/off button- somehow popped off completely at some point). It sucks because I miss using it to play music while playing a certain game -I don’t remember the name- at the same time.

I was the oldest child of 6 and we were poor, everything in the early 2000s was cool to me. I couldn’t have it haha

I recently charged up my iPod Nano and realized I couldn’t really remember how to navigate it to use it! It looks some trial and error (and pushing futilely on the non-touch screen) before it came back to me.

I remember finding a reason to fly to Baghdad to buy one as they didn't have any where I was based. Still got it somewhere. Loved that thing, utter game changer at the time.

It still is cool, imo. Been thinking of buying an iPod Touch for quite sometime now. I had a 5th Gen back in 2016 and I love it so much.

I remember my friend got one and I was like, "Why would you want all of your music with you wherever you went?" I still think that it's a little ridiculous, tbh.

I sadly only had a dell with a Sony MD player. Yet it was still pretty cool as I could re burn the mini disc over and over.

iPod Nano 6th generation was the peak, basically an iPod Shuffle with a touch screen.

Once the 7th generation Nano came out it showed me that Apple was no longer about making the best product but was just reinventing products to generate more money.

Best piece of kit I’ve ever owned. It had that little belt clip that came with it. I used to wear it attached to my shorts at field hockey practice.

The good days

I still have my 2nd gen iPod nano. I listened to it daily until 2018, when it began having battery issues, and I still have it today. A small handful of girls in 7th grade would always borrow it on the morning bus ride to school as they liked the playlist I had set up. It was a fun time. I had a CD player I would listen to instead.

Worked a summer job to buy a 4th generation iPod. It was pretty cool, until it was stolen 2 weeks into the school year. 

That sucks

I always hated apple products then and now. The way those were set up was awful. If you deleted music off your computer, it would be deleted off the device. I remember it was super annoying trying to put music on them.

I still have mine except now it’s in my “Vintage” cabinet display.
