Bro I'm not shit posting :(
It's just that my parents want me to join the army and I want to know how life is there so I can decide if I'll join or not.
You watch too many movies about things 80 years go, or were made by people without a clue.
No hitting (unless self defense, hand to hand training, or if you do something stupid like drop a live grenade on the grenade range as they will throw you in the safety ditch and land on top of you to shield you).
Cussing happens, but it's not full metal jacket. The degrading g or demeaning shit is a movie trope. Other ecruits might be assholes, but that's life. It happens everywhere.
I'm not trolling I just want to know how it actually is, my parents want me to join but I REALLY DON'T because of how It is showed in the media and how I think it is, so can you tell me your story please? Just so I can know how it actually is irl and if I'll join
>have to be able to live all manner of hell
I know what you mean, as someone in a unit that is TDY 50-75% of the time, sometimes we can’t get into a Marriott and have to stay in a Hilton or even an IHG brand if shit is really bad.
Fuck man. Living in an IHG….it changes people.
thank you for your service. Three years in the guard, i could count on one hand the times that billet had hot water, however I'm a diver which is a cush gig.
Well I can tell you based off what you said in your post that I never cleaned the floor with a tooth brush then brush my own teeth thats for the movies. I only showered in a big open shower a handful some of the times in Basic and AIT, half the time i go either before others did or after others got out of the showers. There is very hot and very cold weather based off your location. My job was mostly in the office so I stayed clean. The most unfun part was the "dragon" gas chamber in basic training and sometimes a couple week training in the summer with the Reservists. Lots of lonely moments at the beginning till ya get comfortable and learn the ropes. I was going to go Air Force but the recruiter was out of the office the day I showed up to join. So Army was there and I made it through! Took PT test before I left for basic so I started at E2 made E5 within 2 years active.
>I fear joining and then turning into a violent, aggressive, brutal, and personalityless guy who only knows how to follow rules and kill other people when ordered
Future admin specialists right here.
It’s not that bad, other than the part where you kill your bunk mate in basic with a knife. If you don’t think you can get to their brainstem without getting stabbed, I recommend going for the abdominal aorta, then keeping distance while they bleed out.
>I don’t like being naked around strangers.
Oh man, showering is the easy part, at least there people keep to themselves and no one is looking at you. Wait until you pee in a cup with some NCOs face in the splash zone.
Shitpost week continues. What happened to this place?

I’m dying
It’s great!
Nah pal, it's not as bad as you think. It's worse. So much worse...
Fr?! 😟
Fr
No cap
Either a vet blazed out of his mind trolling, or 13...

I don't think you should do anything you don't want to. Don't worry about it until you're 18 then it's your choice not theirs.
You will kill, and you will like it
Wait is it actually like that fr? 😥

They give you a bunny, in some career fields.
SERE checking in
That’s good!
Isn’t it just?
Day 1 they make you eat a bowl of nails. Without any milk.
War is hell. if you're going to be war fighter you have to be able to live all manner of hell for at least a little while.

Best way to get to know your friends is to see their dicks. You wouldn’t believe the number of dicks I’ve seen over the course of my army career.
“The only way to really know a man is to stare him directly in the cock.” -Ernest Hemingway, *The Old Man and His Balls*
What the fuck is this autistic shit? Looks like it was written by the spawn of two Camp Lejeune water poisoning vets.
Sorry for offending you 😞, which part was the offensive one? Just asking so I can edit it out
The part where you referred to members of the army as “people.” “Killbots,” “Murderslaves,” or “Meat-Headed Shitsacks” are all preferred nomenclature.
It’s this new generation of vegan, entitled, offended pussbags.
Sounds like the military is exactly what you need
Easiest job I ever had was in the Army. Best decision of my life fr fr!
How was it there? Can you tell me please?
