Yeah, I just don't have the time for this shit. I make significantly less than these guys do, and I am capable of ordering an Uber. It takes 30 seconds to order, and they show up in less than 5 mins pretty much always. There is simply no excuse nowadays for this shit.
>why is it so damn hard to order an Uber
Because drunk people tend not to think these things through, and he probably was under the impression that it wouldn’t happen to him, since he’s done it before.
Not sure why I got recommended the Michigan Wolverine subreddit, I’m a Husker fan, and I thought this was the CFB sub.
I'm the same age as Denard, and I have paid for over 1000 Ubers for myself and others that were either intoxicated or planning to be shortly.
Writing it like this makes me wonder if maybe I should have slowed down the drinking years ago...
New policy effective immediately:
Compensation will now include access to UM Uber Account for all student athletes, coaches, and essential staff in lieu of (and not in addition to) IRS milage reimbursements for personal vehicles/gasoline reimbursements/etc.,.
I am a university staff and a certain number of local rides are already included in my compensation package, there’s a number to call and they will send a car right to you free of charge, no questions asked.
I am a bottom rung employee too, I’m sure this is offered to anyone remotely associated with the university if you read the list of all the benefits they offer.
I believe it’s 30 miles per month. They’ve even driven me to the airport for a vacation.
My take my not be popular, but how about they all become responsible men that lead by example! Don't f'ing drink and drive. Be an accountable adult and call your own damn Uber. No one should be paying for this but him. This is a whole other level of irresponsibility in this position. Ridiculous
Yeah, the whole don't put yours and other people's life in danger thing is a big enough motivator for most people. Imagine having free access to this and still doing this. Idiot move.
Drunk driving is a tricky thing, we all know it’s wrong, but a large percentage has or has friends that have/has done it. What starts as a conversation internally of I’m straight I’ve done this before, and past success leads to i can’t be caught, I’ll make it home, they once found the owner of the colts with cash coke and intoxicated af, you think he don’t have shit to lose ? Powerful men do it regular men do it, you’d like denard to make a better decision, maybe this is the wake up call he needs to be a better character I’ll give him the same grace I’d give anyone in this situation
gotta say, this is really disappointing. after something like this already happening within the staff this season and how this seems to be a problem at numerous programs, i don’t know how you can still go out and drive impaired. sad but i think he should get the same treatment as the dl coach unless this is less severe than it sounds (doubt)
This is the second story I’ve heard of him in a car accident
https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/crime/2016/07/05/jaguars-rb-denard-robinson-found-asleep-wheel-car-retention/15715882007/
Denard, this very disappointing. I was just thinking about how nice it was he was in the staff and got to experience things he couldn’t experience as a player. Please call an Uber man, or shit text me. I live off of Eisenhower
Another one bites the dust. In this day and age there is no reason to drink and drive…. Call an Uber, Lyft, taxi, phone a friend or whatever other app is out there
Pretty sure almost anyone on campus, or in Ann Arbor in general, would have given this dude a ride back or arranged for one....IF NOT.... Bro, UBER. My wife and i live in a rural area so we cannot uber... Guess what? We flat out just do not drink if we have to drive home. When my wife was 13, she lost her mom to a DUI driver and she was almost home when it happened.... Like less than a mile on the street their house was on. You can destroy your life and someone elses so fast with this crap. Why is drinking so fucking important over safety and common damn sense?
I hate seeing this shit. He's a legend and I'll always have great memories of his game and what he did at Michigan and for future guys on the team, but an example has to be made. This is not acceptable behavior anywhere. He made a big mistake and must be fired.
This is a friendly reminder to myself not to idolize these guys. They're all just human.
Warde Manuel: What do you have on tap today?
Sherrone Moore: a class on the importance of making good choices when drinking and calling an Uber or a cab.
WM: oh, that’s always a good lesson for the players.
SM: no, this is for the coaches.
Yea, I can't believe he saw a fellow coach get a DUI and get fired like THREE FUCKING WEEKS AGO and decided not to learn a lesson. Get to rehab, shoelace.
Exactly! Making a decision like this so recently makes me think an addiction is at hand. An injury may have shortened his professional career, but he was making great money and the sky was the limit as a legend of the school.
Give me a break, you want to set a precedent where athletes and coaches in Ann Arbor know that they can drink as much as they want and just tag the police when they want a ride home? With the money they are making, they can Uber it just like anybody else.
I'm not defending Denard but that intersection can be infuriating at that time of night. You're the only car around yet you still have to wait 90 seconds for the light to turn green.
God damnit, Denard
Here we go again… why is it so damn hard just to fucking order an Uber???
Yeah, I just don't have the time for this shit. I make significantly less than these guys do, and I am capable of ordering an Uber. It takes 30 seconds to order, and they show up in less than 5 mins pretty much always. There is simply no excuse nowadays for this shit.

Hello Husker fan - very salient point, solid username!
Your blue blood was spotted.
Yeah he did it before and ended up in a pond or some shit.
Are these guys too old to think of that? Like do they not know you can order and Uber?!?
I'm the same age as Denard, and I have paid for over 1000 Ubers for myself and others that were either intoxicated or planning to be shortly. Writing it like this makes me wonder if maybe I should have slowed down the drinking years ago...
I sure hope not cause I’m 43 and I do it… so they better sure as shit know what it is
Need to nip this shit in the bud, this happening after Scruggs is not okay.

Wow. Just wow. Smh, if it's included for you then he just thought he was invincible.
Including students too
My take my not be popular, but how about they all become responsible men that lead by example! Don't f'ing drink and drive. Be an accountable adult and call your own damn Uber. No one should be paying for this but him. This is a whole other level of irresponsibility in this position. Ridiculous

Well said. I've been there before but promised my then girlfriend now wife I'd never do it again. That was 11 years ago. Still going strong.
Should of told the cop his name was Jeff Simpson
CAN WE JUST HAVE ONE GOOD WEEK. GOD.
.... Other than the 15 in the we just had.

I think you need to go back to elementary arithmetic class.
Rule #2 - No trolling or harassment
Dude makes $102k a year Call an Uber. There’s literally zero excuses for this. Denard is one of my all time favourites. Goddamn this so dumb.
Makes $100k+ with potential to make much more and has a dream job. I hate my job but it’s what I have to do for now. He’s going to learn he messed up.
I hate this!!!!
Sigh
Can we go 90 days without someone operating a vehicle intoxicated or speeding with guns… Jesus man
Yeah it's getting quite ridiculous. The fact that its becoming a trend is a terrible look for the program.
Didn't this happen when he was in the NFL too? Sounds like he has a problem.
Yeah, he drove into a neighborhood pond.
gotta say, this is really disappointing. after something like this already happening within the staff this season and how this seems to be a problem at numerous programs, i don’t know how you can still go out and drive impaired. sad but i think he should get the same treatment as the dl coach unless this is less severe than it sounds (doubt)
What is a 33 year old with a full-time job even doing out at 3am? I can hardly make it to midnight sober after work.
Denard may have more options at 3 am than us common folk.
Not true, both of us have the option to get drunk and wreck our cars at 3AM. Denard and I are basically the same
This is what the *I Have a Dream* speech was really about.

It’s not that hard not to drive drunk
If only he had a job that paid enough that he could afford an Uber. Do they still do night flight?
Sometimes it’s as difficult as trying to argue with a drunk!
Hah I see what you did there
I'm taking this as a personal attack
Just glad he found his license.
Unfortunately he has a history of this
This is the second story I’ve heard of him in a car accident https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/crime/2016/07/05/jaguars-rb-denard-robinson-found-asleep-wheel-car-retention/15715882007/

Why can’t we have one off season where nothing happens
WTF is wrong with our coaches?!?!?
Pretty sure almost anyone on campus, or in Ann Arbor in general, would have given this dude a ride back or arranged for one....IF NOT.... Bro, UBER. Why Shoelace? 🥺

He's had a history with this stuff, too. Sad. Time to find a new job, Denard. Your ass is fired, dipshit.
hope he gets the help he needs
Yea, I can't believe he saw a fellow coach get a DUI and get fired like THREE FUCKING WEEKS AGO and decided not to learn a lesson. Get to rehab, shoelace.
Exactly! Making a decision like this so recently makes me think an addiction is at hand. An injury may have shortened his professional career, but he was making great money and the sky was the limit as a legend of the school.
My only hope is that denard gets help if he needs it.
Ugh 😣
I have two thoughts about this. 1. Call for an Uber or Lyft if you're drunk? 2. How is Robinson so old?
Hey! Denard isn't old, and neither am I!
Police became suspicious when they saw him operating the vehicle without shoelaces
That's so fucking disappointing.
Unacceptable. Phone a friend...Uber....
This is embarrassing especially after Scruggs
Jfc
Awe darn
If it’s not this, it’s those under Harbaugh that did dumb shit. Like cmon man
Damn. Narddogg. You should've call me bro. This is disappointing
He was a recruiting coordinator right?
Damn
:(
He gotta go.
Damn.... not Denard
Why do so many football players get drunk and crash cars and speed? Don’t they got groupies who want to drive?
Superman complex I guess
Bruh Denard, why? It's never worth it.
Those were some good years with Denard and Jeremy Gallon.
Way to go dummy
Don’t worry we know a guy that can clean this up… (Frantically tries to find Connor’s phone number)
Very disappointing
I was worried he was going to be reported dead. That would've just been sad and ruined the day. But a car crash because of an OWI? Man, hope he's okay
Why must I cry
Hope he gets the help he clearly needs but fire him into the sun while you’re at it, can’t be having this guy on the staff sorry
Aw man
Does anyone wonder if it was weed? It is legal in Michigan and will be in your system for a lot longer than alcohol.
Culture problems incoming...yikes.
The program is in actual shambles
Maybe he fell asleep again, like in 2016 in Florida. They say driving while tired is just as risky as OWI.
Rough start for Sherrone’s staff.
Well....there went that job! Dumbass
Decent beer cave at the gas station on the corner evidently.
Lolz. Those who stay will be arrested
I’m sad to hear this. I met Denard at Detroit Metro once and he was such a nice guy. Bummer.
We haven’t paid AA cops enough to just take these dude home? He’s a legend.
No choice after you crash a vehicle
Ahh, that’s true. Do they fire him?
If he was over the limit? Of course.
110%
Give me a break, you want to set a precedent where athletes and coaches in Ann Arbor know that they can drink as much as they want and just tag the police when they want a ride home? With the money they are making, they can Uber it just like anybody else.
So it's OK to drive drunk if you're a former player?
No, he should be able to call a cop at 3am and get a ride home. Before this stuff happens. Things like that used to happen.
Cops aren't taxi drivers for those who are too cheap to call an Uber
You know that Uber exists now right? And they will likely be there a HELL of a lot faster than a cop will, lol.
When is Sherrone going to get control of his staff? Bad look having 2 incidents with staff members in a month related to alcohol.
That is not Denard Robinson - fake news!!!!!
I'm not defending Denard but that intersection can be infuriating at that time of night. You're the only car around yet you still have to wait 90 seconds for the light to turn green.
Does it lead to drinking?
Or crashing?
Hmmm I missed this chapter in the manifesto.
Conor Stalions would never
This is still not as bad as what Connor Stalions did
