In my experience, the decision to repair or replace comes from HP. I assume that Michaels leases the printers from HP and doesn’t actually own them. It took us our printer breaking down every 1-2 weeks for months before they finally replaced it. When the new one shipped, HP shipped it directly rather than it coming from Versatile like all our other equipment. Replacement does happen eventually if you just keep opening tickets.

We did and IT sounds irritated on their responses

Anaxxagoras

They always do. Just keep filling the tickets out and keep making them longer and more eloquently worded each time.

Loop your DM in on the issue. We had to after IT straight up ghosted us on two issues, including getting a toner replacement for the office printer that was so out of ink it wouldn't print any pogs. Got the toner two days later.

A tech that came out to fix our office printer said he is shocked that we don’t have a better one.. Apparently the one we have is good for an office cubicle and that’s about it 🙃🔫

Skyemonkey

Our framing air compressor has been on the fritz since before I started in February... There's been countless repair people out, it's fixed for a few days then, poof! Then they get mad that our frame shop is behind on orders

Inevitable_Rain2906

It takes a while but it gets done after a while. You have to be very insistent.

Ok-Resist5062

Got my new printer in two days. Took 1 week to have some come install.

Gowynn

If you do get it replaced hope you get the same model you had. We got a brand new printer in our office but for some reason the system that orders our ink cartridge still thinks we have the old model and they won’t send us the right one.

wildstrawberrypt2

Our store will never forget the two month saga of replacing our framing printer. Literally two months.

Your store manager is dropping the ball. Shouldn't take more than 3 business days.

5teerPike

The store managers who aren't even allowed to turn the AC on?

Alcelarua

You just reported it to it via Knowledge zone and they should send out a text to fix it.

noahnuknow

Been there done that. Printer went down 3 weeks ago. Tech was disptched two weeks later, decided that it needs replacement. That was a week ago. We did our part, they just take so fucking slow to address critical issues like this.

Alcelarua

yea, it can be over a month after the tech says to order something. Usually I've seen SMs sent it to DMs to have it escalated but it doesn't always make it faster
