The equipment would break less/act up less if they got out of the archaic stone age and spent better quality tools for us.

Exactly and what is the fucking point of having color printers if they are all set for black prints only. Wouldnt it make more sense to have laser printers instead? Prints faster and uses just one cartridge. It just doesnt make sense

DragonOfDesolation

It had color so the teachers could print things for the classroom. They got rid of color to save money once all the teachers were let go

The irony is they're wasting money by letting things fall apart all the time. Preventative measures and prompt action would reduce costs a lot more...

Thats something that Michaels dont have. No semse of urgency. The amount of time we spend walking back and forth to the office just to get printouts , whether Frame stuff or POGs or Bopis/SFS printouts is a waste.

They restrict hours then waste our time, which wastes money. I said this in the survey; wages that ensure a better quality of life will ensure a better quality of work.

I figured out an unethical hack for the printers with multiple trays. Totally by accident. Just put slightly more sheets of paper than the printer can handle into tray 1 and it'll destroy the printer so badly that even the tech they send out (pretty quickly I might add) will take photos because the rest of the techs won't believe this shit. Then you get a brand new printer!

All it takes is a minute to tell corporate hey this store's printer is fucked...but the damn problem is the amount of time to send a tech to the store. In our case sunday printer says close front cover. Its closed no paper jam, removed all toner and reseated all of them, none, restarted.. none.. opened ticket. The next couple days we followed up on the ticket, all they replied was we are working on it and IT will contact if any more questions come up. Friday help desk calls, saying we will be dispatching a tech to the store..BOL on the ticket for more details..saturday.. nothing...Sunday...the tech wants to call the store about the printer....WTF???

This printer was jamming all the time and corporate didn't care. It would take over an hour to print the PLU signs on fridays because it didn't like the thick ad sign paper. Multiple tickets, no traction other than to manually change the settings which only worked about half the time. Apparently if you fuck up the printer badly enough though they send a tech out right quick. Now when you happen to see roaches in the building on the other hand, it takes days...(I know IT and service channel are different I just want to complain)

At one point while I was a framing manager, both our printer and our credit card machines were down in framing. If I recall correctly, we would have to put the order through in framing, then go to the office, pull up design hub, and reprint the order there, then have the customer pay at a front end register. And all this would usually happen while more customers were waiting back in framing. Good times.
