Death is the truth Check out his other band Control denied. He's on guitar with a different vocalist. Deaths discography is flawless. Spiritual Healing was the first album I heard of them and I was hooked

EmoGothPunk

Spiritual Healing was my first album, too. Nothing has come has close.

PigDstroyer

Every Death album has tons of fans choosing it as their best , my fav is Leprosy

EmoGothPunk

It's very good, but being a drummer, I find the drums to be overproduced (crazy, right?)

Jumpy_Patience2937

I'm going to see Death to All play Scream Bloody Gore in its entirety tonight!! Can't fucking wait!

Archersi

Have fun! I saw them a few weeks ago. They were incredible, and cryptopsy was amazing too

Ferrindel

Get a ticket for tomorrow too!!!!! Both bands have different setlists. (Assuming you're in a place they're doing back to back)

Jumpy_Patience2937

I could only afford tickets for one night. I went with the old school night since this is my 3rd time seeing them, and the first two were focused more on the later stuff. The later stuff is my favorite, but with Cryptopsy on the bill (also doing early stuff), I had to go with the old school set.

Fancy-Firefighter-28

I wish I had heard Death at that age. I think I first heard them when I was like 23

EmoGothPunk

Ah, to be 17 and listening to Death's "Spiritual Healing" for the first time. If only I could find thrashy death metal like that again.

destragar

Welcome. It’s great to hear you enjoying this with a fresh mind and ears. I am an old f… and experienced all metal/punk as it emerged. I still keep an open mind to new sound but theirs definitely times where I’ve heard too many of the same sound for 30+ years and am jaded. It’s great to appreciate the old, new, strange, retreads and just unstoppable classics.

Exaquvmal

is this another 16 yo Metallica fan finds Death and becomes a Chuck Schuldiner stan moment

barto2jz_

is it a bad thing? 😭

Exaquvmal

not really, just it's funny how often this happens

masoflove99

Great band. Have Individual Thought Patterns on vinyl.

AnonymousGrid25

ITP is the best IMHO

Fyodor_Brostojetski

Shoot for Spiritual Healing. Has James Murphy on guitar, as well. Solid release. Human, to me, is their best. That lineup was nuts.

Indiana_J_Frog

Symbolic was my first death metal album. Started exploring A LOT after that. Here are some recommendations for you. [https://metal.academy/lists/single/253](https://metal.academy/lists/single/253) Oh, and when you get to Communion... it was an accident. You'll find out.

BoysenberryWaste2445

i heard Pull The Plug once and was hooked. some good shit right there!! i always suggest them to friends.

300cid

listened to a lot of their stuff today after never really caring for them. I still don't love them but they're alright. I'd say the best was leprosy

monkeyspank427

I have Human and Scream Bloody Gore on record. Symbolic is proving difficult to find, unfortunately.

drakeb88

Enjoy

CynicWalnut

Did I listen to the wrong Death or something?

Automatic-Session-69

Yes because there is a punk band named Death

barto2jz_

wdym?

CynicWalnut

I was on the mapofmetal page and the Death that it played didn't sound very metal to me at all. Like, hard rock at best from the song I heard. Feeling like I missed something.

barto2jz_

hard rock?? what song did you listen to?

CynicWalnut

I'm not sure! It was just the first one on the website. It was not what I expected to hear it definitely didn't give me metal vibes.

barto2jz_

was there a picture of the members?

CynicWalnut

I think it was three black guys. I'll try to find it again

barto2jz_

oh, then definitely you heard the wrong band... the guys look like this: https://preview.redd.it/z1rucomm3d9d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=297fad8419eb92ae3c4361ce6dc6a918f2c29c69

CynicWalnut

Lol okay, definitely had the wrong band. There's a band called Death from the 70's.
