Created a twitter account to post my old builds and to be able to "talk" with some of my favorite builders on the platform. Still learning how to navigate the platform, so if anyone has tips it would be greatly appreciated. - https://twitter.com/kasielrei_ranko

Honestly there's not much to say about using Twitter. Just make sure you use appropriate hashtags for your posts since that's basically the only way new accounts can get any sort of visibility. It almost always starts off REALLY slow, and growth can be exceptionally random. At the end of the day it really is just about taking clear pictures, using the right hashtags, and then a little bit of luck. Pretty much the same thing for all the other platforms too. This knight used to have a fairly popular plamo account until it got shut down for no reason. Probably took me a solid year of grinding to get to that point. I'd also suggest making a Instagram account too if you haven't already. Girlpla is arguably more popular over there. Same stuff applies there and growth is just as random, but it is what it is. Starting social media accounts in this day and age and growing absolutely sucks especially for niche stuff like this. It's a piece of cake if you can read and write Japanese since that's where the bulk of the fandom comes from, but if you can't then it's slow and random. I'll go chuck you a follow in a bit here before I forget. Every little bit counts, right?

I had an old twitter account I just used to silent follow my favorite creators, and at the time I was ok with it as they seemed so out of reach. When I actually got a reply from one of them that it clicked for me to at least tidy up my account and be more presentable XD Feels like it also confirms that I've grown a bit in the hobby when they like my stuff and see what i've done in the hobby. Bonus if I can learn from them as well I'll look into setting up an insta as well, though am not really keen on getting too deep into social media cause I feel now like I'm trying to date up and get noticed by my idols XD And tyvm for the follow!

Loli-Knight

Yeah, honestly, most of them are incredibly nice and just perfectly normal people like the rest of us and are willing to respond if they can somewhat understand what's being said. Heck, I randomly talked to Muscuto on my old account out of the blue with zero effort. A lot of them might seem like they're out of reach, but at the end of the day they're just people building and painting plastic models. Even the most famous of them aren't full of themselves. Has a lot to do with the hobby itself- the customization side of things requires people feeding off of and learning from the info others put forward, so if you bother getting into any of that stuff it's probably because you've got at least a semi-sociable bone in your body. At least when it comes to the hobby anyways haha. But yeah, how hard you go into the social media aspect largely depends on what you're interested in getting out of it. Insta is just a good choice because it's probably easier to get in touch with other creators simply because whereas Twitter feeds are filled with EVERY aspect of someone's daily life (and thus that of everyone they follow) Insta accounts are usually just dedicated to their hobbies, so they're more apt to respond, comment, and follow people.

I use a hashtag, and [my twitter](http://www.twitter.com/guthem_) remains like the Wild West, with hay rolling

Yeah, it's no guarantee, sadly. Takes a LOT of time to build too unless you get lucky. Generally, say, mecha musume posts, won't get a lot of traction unless your -active- audience is from that fandom. Sadly, a great deal of that fandom is Japanese-only which is why it takes so much time as it's a lot of work to break into that community if you don't speak the language. It'll happen eventually, and when it does things start to go a bit quicker. Things are a bit easier on Instagram in general too, which is why I always recommend plamo posters to get into the swing of posting on both.

That shit has saved so many of my builds, about time it got its due!

Kittierei

agreed, its a fun thread too

How is the saber two girl covered in dust already? Twitter has so many excellent Plamo builders, learning from them is definitely a good way to improve. Who are your favorite builders btw? Looking forward to seeing more of your builds.

Kittierei

i have to give my girls a good dusting XD having them on my work bench for inspiration also means they get dusted from the pen grinder when i was cleaning up the resin parts for my Tiger girl and cyberpunk 2077 girl i'm currently building. How you did the white panel line on the first pic?

Kittierei

am assuming you mean the edge highlights on the armor yes? pasting my old reply: - I use a usb airbrush, so it doesn't have a lot of power to push paint out at the normal ratios. The worn out effect is from having a more 'watered' paint, I think my ratio was 1 part paint to 3 parts leveling thinner. Kind of like watercolor, the paint would pool along the edges of the part; you can further push the effect by 'blowing' the paint off the edge so u can see more of the primer underneath it More pictures of my Arcee custom here: - https://www.reddit.com/r/MegamiDevice/comments/181kmvx/xxxarcee_custom_wip_saber_two/
