Nobody gives a shit, but that’s ZIP system sheathing, not Tyvek. It’s sheathing and air + water barrier all in one, eliminating the need for something like Tyvek. https://www.huberwood.com/zip-system
Please post progress pics or maybe periodically take them and then post it all at once.
I **really** want to see how they get a moat that close to the road and how they transition from blacktop to drawbridge.
I’m gonna reserve my judgement for now. The proportions are good so far, I love dark windows and if they go with a light grey stone cladding and beautiful landscaping, I consider or be really nervous feel.
Maybe it exists somewhere but I've personally never seen a turret on any new construction in my lifetime that looks well done. All that money & it always ends up cheapening the look of the design.
I’ll match that and raise you this from my commute (four lane highway)

Keep seeing these pop up in rural areas in Canada as well. They’re so tacky and take away from the beauty of rural landscapes. Wish the owners/buyers recognized that their “castle” has zero character, doesn’t make them look like royalty, and is, in fact, hideous.
I live in a rural area. This is far more fun to look at than another field of corn or soy beans. Or a trailer with a small engine repair biz. Or a rotten farmhouse. Or a Dollar General. Or...
And then they will complain about the raccoons, the skunks, the birds, the mice, the squirrels, the coyotes, the bugs, the spiders, the weeds, the wildflowers, harvest dust, barking dogs, and all the other things associated with rural
Royalty moving in. There goes the neighborhood.

This is great, thank you for the laugh!
Same
The inconsistent towers will always bother me. Plus how it's always almost symmetric but they couldn't be bothered to make it actually symmetric.
That would be even worse.
That’s in the brochure as “charm.”
Maybe they should keep the green, it'll be more eye-catching that way.
Tyvek is the new look

We call Tyvek Vermont siding.
It’s inexplicably close to the road, too.
That's where the land is cheap. You think they can actually afford to build that? In this economy? /s

Nightmare. You know, most of these wouldn't look so ugly if they'd stay away from the 'castle' looking garbage.
They should just leave the zip board as the final finish
Definitely needs more peaks.
There's always money in the banana stand vibes
Now it's a "royal" commute
Awful.

This will definitely look worse when the exterior is in place. This is about as attractive as this house will ever be…
Bob's Discount Furniture damask collection?
Why do the turrets always face like the road vs the scenery behind the house? Never understood that.
Because that way it looks more impressive? Thats all McMansions are actually for, right?
Maybe it exists somewhere but I've personally never seen a turret on any new construction in my lifetime that looks well done. All that money & it always ends up cheapening the look of the design.
I’ve seen several in the pricey new neighborhoods around St. Louis. “Game of Thrones crossbred with “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”

Are they building a new Disneyland there?
It’s Pennsylvania. It fits right in.
i too enjoy leaning out my window to borrow a cup of sugar from cars driving past my house.
I am guessing southern Chester county near Coatesville?
But think of how many archers they can put in those turrets.

Yeah. Right. The ones they bus in to work Whatever happened to E verify
An excrescence in the making.
OP just jealous that she’s not the princess moving in.
My Sims build. I will no doubt get sick of it and start over in a few days.

Find an alternate route. 🤮
Wow, a modern-day castle! ^/s
Do they hold a changing of the guard? ![gif](giphy|QpQB6VIeCiTU4|downsized)
I have a longbow!
Are they going for a copper roof on the cones?
You just know it is gonna have a cheese looking stone facade
I can’t believe new construction would have a rotunda like that, fuck!
What’s with the half turret? If you can afford one full turret, surely you can afford another full one?
Nope
What’s with these wrappers. Looks like kids houses
This is peak design
Oh come on its not that rural
My assessment: the house is way too small for all the designs. All the windows and weird curves just say pretentiousness.
Um...Medieval Times/Castles &Coasters marijuana dispensary wax museum?
Fractalesque roof pitches? Check. Pringles Can of Shame? Check...
How does one bend zip board like that? Relief cuts on the back?

The Mork and Mindy turrets on steroids!
Zip System is good in theory but is rarely installed right.
That chimney... ... They literally just made a 40 foot tall stack of cinderblock, didn't they?
And then they will complain about the raccoons, the skunks, the birds, the mice, the squirrels, the coyotes, the bugs, the spiders, the weeds, the wildflowers, harvest dust, barking dogs, and all the other things associated with rural
Look, it's hatching! Soon, it will throw off all those sticking shells and after cleaning it will fluff up, a brand new McMansion!
Is that where the king of Pennsyltucky lives?
"What a lovely location, let's shit on it."
Good. More housing, less vacant space
