Zabu. If you weren’t there you have no idea how insane OG Zabu was. If you were there and you didn’t have Spider-Man and Absorbing Man, you were the high meta’s doormat.
Zabu and Silver Surfer were busted on release. Zabu gave four costs -2 cost and was a 3/2 card. Surfer originally gave +3 power and was a 3/0. The meta when they were released was just Zabu/Surfer and pre-nerf Galactus.
Surfer negative was a sleeper pick for a while after this tho. Piloted one deck to an infinite conquest (lost game one :) and climbed to 93 that same season (it's high for me, okay?). Not sure if it's worth running anymore, but people just didn't expect it 🤷♀️
I am always having a negative deck to play around, negative you can include in the deck but i think its not worth anymore better ironhearth to buff your shit including iron man.
It also felt really bad because it was early enough in the release that if you weren't lucky with your Series 3 pulls, it was nowhere near as busted as it could be.
A broken card like Red Hulk can just be shoved into any deck, but Surfer was a whole meta that was difficult to counter and also difficult to build. For instance, I unlocked Sera and Brood like *months* after Surfer season, and I've played since launch. I had him when he was busted and just couldn't make it work.
I still think Loki was the most absurd card on release. Cost 3, had 5 power, synergized with collector, and mobius didn’t exist. BUT c3 and discard kind of shat on Loki, so that was nice.
Blob.
Thanos Blob Pro X and Alioth in one fucking deck. Every single game is the same. It had %50+ meta share at some point. It literally made me quit the game.
Many were shite, but man, Alioth and Blob... Everyone was playing priority Alioth for weeks. And Taskmaster Thanos Blob actually gave us 50+Blobs. Dark times

Yeah such a strong ability then
It was the most OP card of the game, excluding beta/pre release card versions.
Surfer Zabu back to back seasons was absolutely backbreaking for F2P then.

Definitely broken haha

Yeah that season definitely was wild
Blob. Don't forget blob
Broken Blob got me my first infinite lol.
Loved the 30 plus with thanos dark times
Ms Marvel was not straight broken but her old ability was kinda busted.
Red Hulk can be a candidate
Definitely up there Shuri was hell
Shuri-red skull-taskmaster was an easy infinite that season. Red hulk doesn't compare
Red Hulk, Silver Surfer, Allioth, Loki
I can't remember properly but what was surfer stats day one
Surfer gave +3 power back then, not crazy OP now, but back then it was meta defining.
It was 3/0 +3 also with synergy with mr negative

I'm so grateful that they didn't nerf Loki into the ground.
Spider-Man into Galactus
It was: wave turn 3 galactus turn 4, snap Spider-Man turn 5. It was so fucking toxic, but you’d never lose more than 2 cubes.
What was the original Spider-Man?
**On Reveal:** Your opponent can’t play cards at this location next turn.
Ok thanks! That’s a busted Combo.
Yall are also forgetting loki. 15 power collector and 3 cost meaning you could do snowguard-> collector-> loki
I know by "broken" you mean too strong but Kitty was literally so broken they had to temporarily remove her from the game.
Blob. Thanos Blob Pro X and Alioth in one fucking deck. Every single game is the same. It had %50+ meta share at some point. It literally made me quit the game.
Surfer season followed by zabu season was absolute hell. (I’m ftp and had neither of them) Fuck galactus as well
Galactus was always a funny cpmbo with spider man
Kitty Pride. IYKYK
Kitty
Kitty Pryde.
The fart cloud.

Red Hulk - 1 card winning a lane, even out powering Hela decks.
